  5. P-40B Taylor Pearl Harbor 1:18

    From the album USMC Hawker

I just picked this one up @ Walmart. They sell them for about $20 less than online retailers. Plus no shipping. Pearl Harbor After a night of poker and dancing at the officers' club at Wheeler Army Airfield in Honolulu, Taylor and Welch awoke on the morning of December 7, 1941 to the sound of planes flying low, machine-gun fire and explosions. Lt. Taylor called Haleiwa Auxiliary air field and, without orders, told the ground crews to get two P-40 fighters armed and ready for takeoff.[1] Taylor's new Buick was strafed by Japanese aircraft as the two pilots sped the 10 miles to Haleiwa. At the airstrip, they climbed into their Curtiss P-40B Tomahawk fighters, which were fueled but armed with only 30 cal ammo. After they took off, they arrived over Ewa Mooring Mast Field which was being strafed by dive bombers of the second attack wave. Taylor shot down two dive bombers and landed at Wheeler Field to get some 50 cal ammo, As a flight of dive bombers began strafinng Wheeler, both Welch and Taylor took off again. A Japanese bullet came within an inch of Taylor's head and exploded in the cockpit, with one piece going into his left arm. Air Corps records credit Welch with four kills and Taylor with two, yet new research of Japanese combat reports confirms Taylor got four kills and Welch with two. For their heroic action on December 7, the U.S. War Dept. in Communiqué No. 19 on December 13, 1941, designated Taylor and Welch as the first two heroes of World War II, and awarded both the Distinguished Service Cross.
  6. Whatcha building right now?

I uploaded some pics of my diecast and other premade model collection. http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autom...um&album=27 My wife did buy me an RC Corsair and controller and everything. Guess I should build it some time soon and get her flying.
  7. Dragon F-15C/16D/18F Corgi AV-8C 1:72

Models were costing more to make in time, kit and materials so, I went the easy route. Sue me.
  8. Mig21 F104 Su33 F-4 1:72

    From the album USMC Hawker

Models were costing more to make in time, kit and materials so, I went the easy route. Sue me. the Mig21/F104 are from Hobby master nice for the price Su33 from gaincorp. I like it except for the hinge on the wing for folding. F4 is Corgi legends. It was a less expensive corgi no ordnance and plain painted pilots. but, I wanted a USMC F-4 and a nice one has been hard to find in this scale.
  9. Fly a little... DOWNLOAD A LOT.
  10. Whatcha building right now?

I used to build alot. Lately though I have switched to diecast. I can get a nice diecast cheaper than a model kit. I just got an F-104 and MiG-21 from hobby master. $40 total. 1/72 scale. I just don't have time amymore (who knows probably patience either). wish i did though.
  11. The guys here and elsewhere have made almost everything under the sun that has engines and wings. I have 11 GB's of planes WW2, Cold War, Modern), terrains, skins, campaigns, effects and so much more. The SF, WOV, WOE series gives you all this and more. Best money I have ever spent for computer games. I just downloaded WOV tonight (now i am complete, at least until that sick new 3rdwire sim comes out). Thanks again to all who have contributed to this fine sim and board. i mean it. My wife is out of town for work and I actually get to get some time in. Hence the WOV purchase.
  12. Mission intercept inbound strike against airbase... status failed. bombs went off as I limped the starfighter back to base. At first it sounded like a good idea then i realized...
  13. The Russians Are Coming!

Russia is putting up the planes and putting out the subs in order to make us look in another direction. Russia and China will prevent (veto) any UN resolutions re: Iran as the administration has lost the diplomatic front (Germany has bailed out) and military action is next. The US would be hard pressed to fulfill its NATO obligations if Russia decided it wanted its Eastern Europe Empire back while we are in Iraq and involved in a large scale air assault on Iran's air defences, military installations and eventually their nuclear sites. Just wait until after the primaries...
  14. I lookeda round and couldn't find one. Anyone know where I can find it or if it exists?

  20. I got the rename part. Thanks for the rename of the ini info. That sealed the deal. Thanks this will help me with my theme oriented installs i am doing. much appreciated. Again this kind of help is what makes this community work. Thanks again.

  23. F-16 to the Sun

Wings Over the Wine Country Aug 2007 Pacific Coast AIr Museum http://pacificcoastairmuseum.org/index.asp This is a great airshow put on by a great organization. I have been twice now and this year was great. There were many aircraft that you could climb in. Great static and museum displays. The F-16 demo was awesome. I left before the C-17 and F-18 demo as I have seen them many times and had been in the sun for about 8 hours (plus a 3 hour drive home ibecause of traffic).
