Dood, you just can't stop can you? Excellent, as always! -
Ah, yes. I guess I must have missed it among HUNDREDS of ac available O_O. But CFS3 was first! XD (I think it had it from the beginning in 2002).
-
Still, it's a helluva sexy beast. I think one could fly it in MS CFS3, iirc.

Hmph, looks like the loss of the engine didn't affect the speed at all. So much for facts, Hollywood wins...

It was an interesting read and well written too! Thanks for sharing!

I used to run it on W7 64 bit no problem, however it didn't age well this game... Crappy graphics, old, unoptimised DX7 (sic!) engine, PAINTED ON gun sights (sic!), ufo flight models....Community mods (ETO etc.) do help a little, but just a little, imho...It's a sinking ship that just barely holding steady on the surface....Once you go IL-2 1946 4.12.2 + HSXF 7.01 or IL2 CLoD + TF 4.0 you just can't go back (in my opinion...). EDIT: Did I mention crappy, unrealistic stock cockpits? (Bf-109G, I'm talking bout you, you pos).

[Need Help] My SF2 keep crash when setting unlimited
SFP1Ace replied to wiki's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Another thing is that with 32 bit Windows Strike Fighters can only access 2GB out of total 4GB you've got. Using a heavy modded game (Desert Storm) with only 2GB RAM accessible = crashes, imho. It maybe that switching to windows 7 64 bit will cure this ailment. So it's either lack of Video RAM or main RAM that's causing these crashes, I think. There is also a possibility that your Operation Desert Storm is porked, so you can try and redownload/reinstall it, like KJakker mentioned it above. Good luck! -

SF series as gateway to other flight sims? What to fly next?
SFP1Ace replied to MrGoTime's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
If you're into WW1 give Rise Of Flight a try - it comes with a free to play mode with 2 aircrafts unlocked. If you're in to WW2 then try IL-2 1946 with 4.12.2 patch and optionally HSFX 7.0 modpack. Also IL-2: Cliffs of Dover is highly recommended if your into Battle Of Britain scenario, just don't forget to apply Team Fusion patches 3.0, 3.01 and 4.0 (in that order). Have fun! -

Again, this is strongly indicative that ur PC, most likely the Graphic Card, is running out of memory... -

You're probably running out of Video memory. Your GTX 295 are actually 2 graphic chips with like 896MB of video memory each which is less than the current standard - 1GB. If you're using mods with high resolution textures than they might cause crashes. You should try monitoring your Video Memory usage with external application like MSI Afterburner. -

I'm very cautious about Shevchenko's new venture, and the 25 FPS seen here ain't inspiring either. Probably still using the same old crappy engine that remembers 2003 Lock on if not the 1999 Flanker 2.0 :( -

SF2 - what has been taken away?
SFP1Ace replied to MigBuster's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Yeah, probably it's in the weather.dll or in the .exe itself. What a shame...Not to mention the fiddling with bomber "hitpoints". A year or two ago bombers were soaking up missiles like it was candy, which was bad alright. Now a single Sidewinder with it's puny warhead takes down a Tu-95 EVERY time... Insta kill/paper planes. What a load of crappola :/ -

Yup, try using one of the rwr.lst files included in megamods, like NATO Fighters 5, for example, as a reference.
