  1. Thanks chaps! I managed to sort it out, so I'm back on schedule!!
  2. Thanks p10ppy. When I did a quick search, I noted that there had been a naming convention change..................... so I made sure that my file added up. Unfortunately, ships don't seem to want to work, so I have to assume that the patch messed things up with regard to shipping..........................grrrrr!! Bollocks!
  3. Question for the decal gurus out there. Does anyone know if ship decals work post patch(es)? Prior to the October update, I had decals working quite happily and intended to put a couple on my upcoming Daring. Now, however, I get nothing. I did a quick search to see what's what and have checked file entries within the ship file.................. but I'm stumped. I certainly don't want to have to go back to painting numbers on as that's a real chore and doesn't look as good.
  4. Right, so all three 4.5" turrets function and fire............. going with that for now as TW gunnery is not the best. Aside from a few tweaks, the only thing that puzzles me is that decals don't seem to work on ships post patch. Hmm! Should be out in a week. And then on to other stuff.
  5. Diamond in a hurry to join Eagle off Suez..................
  6. Thanks SB. Just trying to disguise some of the rougher parts! Skippy, Diamond has shot down one of your Wyverns with just one operating (4.5") turret.................. so I hate to think what'll happen when all six light up! As for pirates................... yep, they might not want to take on an old Daring (little light cruiser).
  7. Okay, the Daring is getting closer to commissioning............ (still fiddling with the paint)
  8. Time for armed merchantmen, much like the old British East Indiamen. Given that pirates have no legal standing, and pilot mere speedboats, a couple of whiffs of real grapeshot should do the business.
  9. Crusader, Don't worry. The Daring is in dry dock awaiting paint. Then on to getting those six 4.5" guns functioning (which I've found are very potent when it comes to AA).
  10. No man cave here............... just my (slightly messier) half of the 'office'. Beer stored elsewhere.
  11. Dressing Eagle for Suez...............
  12. Beginnings of an alternative flight deck texture for Eagle and Operation Musketeer.
  13. Diamond off to get a proper paint job before joining the Mediterranean Fleet prior to Operation Musketeer..........
  14. SB, Thanks! The base model is a couple of years old, so is a little rough in places. I've spent the last couple of days tidying things up and adding a little more detail (details vary across the class, so she's something of a composite). Anyway, it's time she leaves the virtual dockyard as she's not doing much around here. Hinch
  15. Eagle's little helper, a Daring, soon for the paint yard, setup and release................
  16. fallenphoenix, Thinking of angles........... I actually started to put together an alternative, angled, Suez deck texture for Eagle. For ten minutes that is, until I started to watch the West Ham-Everton game (amazing comeback by Everton).
  17. sugarblues, My ancient model of Albion/Bulwark will have to stand for Centaur for now (I have a specific start to Centaur as she was in the late '60's, but that's just a start). Hermes as far as I know was completed with angled deck...................... so she'll come with angle, if and when. As for post-reconstruction Victorious, I hope to find a little time to improve the texture and add details and a general tidying up. But for now............... getting the Daring done, so Eagle has escorts.
  18. I should really overhaul Victorious and improve her, but barring that........................... would people be interested in Hermes as she was as a fixed wing carrier? I've always liked her in that configuration.
  19. Well, her original 'angle' was essentially just a paint job, so if I can stomach looking at the model again, an alternative deck texture would be the result. If you refer to her as she was after her 1959-64 refit................... well, that's a lot further down the virtual road. sugarblues, Yeah, she's always been my favourite post war RN carrier.................. although I'm partial to them all.
  20. Putting me on teevee would definitely be a crime, regardless of genre.
  21. Thanks chaps! Decent models like the Wyvern and Sea Hawk make the boats look good. Now, if some kind soul would come up with a Sea Venom, we'd be set. Next up............. finish off the Daring class destroyer so Eagle doesn't look quite so lonely at sea. When I was testing out the Wyvern the other day, Diamond shot one down with her 4.5" guns (just one functioning turret at the mo'). At the same time, there was a lot of huffing and puffing from Eagle's AA, but not much to show for it.

Eagle as built. Hopefully, I'll get around to an alternative deck texture for the Suez Crisis. Complaints................. you know where to send them. No guarantees. It's hard enough having to deal with the cat.

  24. Ta, Baltika............ that sounds vaguely familiar. I'll give it a go.
