  1. Wrench, If I rearrange the funnel and the central guns (along with a shortening of the hull), I can give you a faux Fuso/Yamashiro. Give me a few days, as I'm working on a real ship. Nagato possible also, but Yamato is off limits. Hinch
  2. Gocad, She's a complete fake. Just a target for an on-going mod. Frankly, the pagoda masts of the Japanese battlehips give me the shivers when it comes to construction. I'm back to working on Hermes.
  3. Wrench, Guns are firing and revolving. Where do you want me to send this?
  4. Thanks Baltika. Looks like I'll have to tackle that large patch download. Was hoping to have things sorted beforehand. Oh well.
  5. Very nice work MrC!! Geezer, Are you planning to release the 'Jean'? And with the '30's Japanese theme, do you have something in mind................. mod wise?
  6. The carrier's AA can be made usable. And you're right; the pivots have to be set up so that they yaw properly. Nice plane by the way. Pardon me asking, but what is it (my knowledge re. IJN biplanes is somewhat threadbare........... to say the least!)?
  7. I recently acquired BOB II after having read good things about it. I haven't done a lot with it so far as the game doesn't want to accept my screen resolution (1280 x 1024). I go into 'options', tell it what I want (i.e., the numbers already given) and go off for a bit of flying. However, at the end of the mission, I'm sent to a page with a resolution of 1024 x 768 and I'm unable to see all of it, and thus cannot exit properly. I should note that my BOB version is 2.04 (I know there are updates, but I want to sort this out first). Is there a trick into getting BOB II to stick with a chosen screen resolution (the one the player wants, not the one the game chooses)? I'd like to investigate the game more, but this is getting annoying. (I should note that I tried everything on 1024 x 768............. and things worked, but I'd rather make use of higher settings. I've also looked around the intertubes but haven't come up with much.) Thanks in advance. Hinch
  8. Geezer, How many polys per plane? That's a fair number of statics on the flight deck. Perhaps you could lower the poly number for the static planes, reserving the full number for the flyable versions that magically appear at the head of the line (via the catapults).
  9. Okay! All that's needed is the set up of the main battery............. and then I'll pass this fake on.
  10. Nice work colmack. Looks like you've got the USN sorted. Sticking with my faux ship theme, if colmack doesn't have some of the IJN, I had a little fun this afternoon and came up with a very loose interpretation of the Japanese 'Ise' class battleships. If the mod requires ships for the attacking force, let me know if this is of any use.
  11. Colmack, I'll put my efforts on hold as you have the real deal to hand.
  12. Yeah, I know.................. they're really fake, but plans are afoot for a Pearl Habor scenario.................................. so targets are needed.
  13. Off Hawaii.......... late November, 1941
  14. No probs. They're fake, but you can't have Pearl Harbor without some battleships. You never know, someone might build a decent Arizona/Pennsylvania.
  15. Okay, one more shot to annoy everyone before I pass these things on to Wrench! Pacific Fleet exercises:
  16. Well, I couldn't resist from more fiddling, so here's a faux Tennessee/Colorado thingy. If you think she's viable, I can pass along also when she's 'finished'! Wrench, I'll set up the guns for the 'Oklahoma'. If somebody is desperate for proper paint, I can send the models on.
  17. Well, let's not get too ahead of ourselves. WDH, West Virginia would require cage masts and a clipper bow to get the look right...................... don't really have the time for all that right now........... maybe two weeks Wrench, I've tidied up 'Oklahoma' and given her the right number of guns for the main battery. Hopefully, this will suffice as a paint scheme (time saver which is important). Do you want the big guns set up.................. they weren't doing a lot during the attack?
  18. Wrench, If you can make do with a very basic paint scheme (at least for now), I can have her over to you in the next couple of days.
  19. I saw this thread and thought 'battleships'! Would this serve as a target? Various bits thrown together over the last hour or so (mainly British)............. extremely loosely based on the Oklahoma. If you think it might look reasonable off Ford Island, let me know. (Given that I have a lot of other projects, and have no time for a real USN battleship, no worries if you can't use it.)
  20. Crusader's idea is interesting. The number of Scimitars on deck will depend on the final number of polys. The ship is still pretty basic, so it probably won't be five. But yes, this will be Hermes as she was as a fixed-wing carrier................... 'cos I love the desperate thrill of trying to land large, '60's, FAA aircraft on very small floating airfields (and I'm very much crap at it). Ultimately, it wouldn't take all that much to add a ski-jump for the Falklands, but I believe that version is already out there.
  21. Rather than post aimless screen shots on the the screen shots thread, I thought I'd try this, and update when necessary.
