Zurawski replied to Zurawski's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Interesting... But I must confess I have something far more sinister planned... MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! -

Well... we are moving as fast as my schedule allows right now. That said, we are making very good progress... 1st level LOD is almost 100% modeled and mapped, FM is about 95% with a bit more tweaking necessary. Damage hierarchy is modeled correctly but no textures as of yet.I plan on releasing an alpha build to get feed back before moving onto the cockpit... so to answer your question... "Hopefully soon". A quasi-what-if attack version is planned. -

I should be able to spin all the various versions out... There's only small differences between them... -

"Yes"... I've got a serious "what if" version in the planning stages. -
How Come all Combat flight Sims are stuck in the WWII era...
Zurawski replied to SkyStrike's topic in The Pub
As I see it... Sim enthusiasts associate aircraft with a readily recognizable theater of conflict or era of conflict. Once you get into these new warbirds, there is a sort of disconnect. Don't get me wrong... these new birds are spectacular and I would love a chance to toss them around the sky... I just think that fictional theaters and conflicts turn off a lot of the purists (who we know are also the most vocal)... What we need is a good ol'fashion world war to spur these developers into creating modern-day content! LOL! -
F-86H
Zurawski replied to Major Lee's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Hmmm... Yeah I can see where it would be a bit drafty. I'm more concerned about the aerodynamic qualities however (or lack ther of)... -

Don't knock it til you try it... I got my best modeling work done when I'm in fishnet stockings and high heel spikes. (wow... that's a image that may very well cause erectile disfunction... if not complete loss of sexual urge) -

Yeah... I do want to do the H eventually. I would however like to do it a higher detail level than the previous Sabres (Is that possible you say?!) Right now I've got the Osprey up on blocks... and I've agreed to another project after that... Long story short... It may be a while before we see an H. -

Yup... Cargo bay doors do open. Haven't decided on what all I'll offer as loadouts, but you can be sure troop drops will be in it... -

VTOL and STOL require a bit of finess... Because we can't model a swashplate you have to control your attitude roll and yaw to manage hover manuvers. It works realtively well except when you loose the reigns and an input gets out of hand. Then your fighting a bucking bronco that wants to go anywhere but where you want to go. With practice you can do some cool stuff though... I've held zero-speed hovers....parked it on ships....etc. Long story short... it doesn't shoot anything but I can't stop playing with it! (The Osprey that is...) -

Just for the record.. (And to tease the piss out of some of you)... I'm thinking of doing the "H" to the same quality and detail I'm vesting into the Osprey at the moment... Obviously it'll be when I finish the Osprey... but food for thought! Zur-TECH.com -

Entering the race with a machine that just barely meets minimum system specs for all Thirdwire products... Aside from turning "everything" down in the graphic settings, there is literally nothing that can improve your game play save upgrading your unit. -

Hmmm... I suggest you find a bottle of your favorite alcohol beverage before you begin... Because if you plan of positioning ALL those lights... you may be there for a looooong time. LOL -

STILL resisting temptation ... to ... drag... this ... into ... the gutter... Everytime I read this theads title I feel like a 8 year-old boy who giggles in the middle of sex-ed class when the teachers says "penis". -
"I'll take one of those Sam Adams!"... I have to concede that with add-ons... "you get what you pay for". The FE community has stepped up huge with user-made content... but without pointing fingers... some of the offerings are fairly suspect regarding quality. I've downloaded the entire lot and have deleted a fair share of it shortly after... (I've done this with all my Thirdwire simulation installs)... My installs are a tight ship. I only keep planes in my stable that "look and feel" greater or equal to the stock offerings. (Of which there are some superior stuff available)... For me I need a add-on to "feel" the same as the rest of the simulation... Just a personal thing, but I suspect there are others that think along the same lines as I do.
