Pilot repaint request
Viggen posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Was wondering if someone could repaint one of the modern Air Force pilots and a modern helicopter pilot with multicam flight suits. Army flight crews and Blackhawk and Chinook maintainers wear two piece multicam flight suits out here in Afghanistan. So do the majority of the Air Force pilots I would imagine since the majority of the Air Force officers I've seen here wear them too. -
Pilot repaint request

The captain I talked to said it varied by unit and depended on how much money said unit had. There's some still tan flight suits around. -
Even Il2 have two seaters F100 now.

Which of the DCS products would you all recommend? I've got Blackshark and A-10C. The Mi-8 is in my shopping cart. Do I need any previous versions of LOMAC to run Flaming Cliffs 3?

It's Formula 1 in the 1970s. It's fast, dangerous, and the word "safety" is only starting to become a part of a driver's vocabulary.

Meh none of the TVs at KAF ever show American sports.

Need some help with the ground campaign. That's always been my issue with campaign building. -

I thought about adding helicopters, but I work on them for a living so I need some sort of escape from rotary wings! -
Cool! I too saw my first Mi-17 today, it being from the Afghan Air Force.

My skinning skills? What's a skin? Yeah that's how bad they are. Luckily I found an RAAF skin for the A310. I'll check out the PC-9. I'm going use the Airbus and Super Bugs because I'm only going to have a total of 6 deployed and I doubt one would be used as a refueler with such limited numbers. -

Sweet bird! Definitely going to brave the lengthy Afghan internet download speed to get this one. -
Can the engine do this?
Viggen posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mission & Campaign Building Discussion
Would the campaign engine be able to support a sea-air campaign with a ground campaign beginning a few days or weeks later? Also, does anyone know if the Kamchatka terrain is already set up for a naval campaign? -

Great to hear, Wrench! Hopefully I'll be able to download it on this shitty Afghan connection. Jonathon, that's what I was thinking about with just giving the ground forces a later date. It probably will take a while to get that solved. -

ThirdWire Android/iOS ... more of it...
Viggen replied to Crusader's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
The inis have had Jags mentioned for a while now if I remember correctly, Buccs as well. Similarly, Northern Sabre calls for an RF-8G in the stock ini. -

The Sea Hurricane wears US Navy colors very well! May I ask that you release this one? -
North Carolina class Battleship

Nice looking battlewagons. Should we expect to see more in the future? Battleships were and always will be the coolest class of ships in my mind.- 10 replies

Went to the Combat Air Museum at Forbes Field in Topeka on Thursday. It's a small museum and a lot of the aircraft could use some restoration, but I enjoyed it. A lot of their aircraft have interesting histories. The Kansas National Guard Museum is also located there. I would have stopped and taken pictures of the displays there too, but my battery died. It was low already by the time I made it to the museum which explains the limited photos. Turns out they had an air show this weekend there, but I didn't attend. Wish I did.

I'm going to go back there after deployment with my SLR so I can get better pictures.

Oh I'm sure there will be an exercise where Marine Harriers will have to conduct flight ops off the Hyuga due to "battlefield conditions" soon enough.

Best 3rd Party Campaigns?
Viggen replied to MrGoTime's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
There's an expansion of the expansion that includes the 1956 Suez Crisis. You need Expansion Pack 1 for it though. There might be more. Dunno. There's a Korean War campaign in the downloads as well. -

There's an Iran-Iraq War campaign currently in development. As far as I know it's just waiting on aircraft. There's a Falklands campaign and a 1966 Indo-Pak campaign. Both are in the downloads section. -
Awesome story. My dad had a '68 Impala as his first car, then I think a '71 or '72 after that. It'd be awesome to do this for him, but he totaled both cars. Maybe I could find his Fox Body...

Once I get settled in downrange I'll be sure to subscribe again, even if I don't have access to the downloads.
