F-104 as the A-Wing? -
Nice pictures! Do you mind posting more of the Tunnan and Lansen, if you have some?

USS Iowa BB moved to LA as museum ship

Glad to see she's finally getting a home. -
Mass exodus from the Carolina coast for the impending impact there. Possibly slamming into Long Island as a Category 2. Weather Channel is saying this could be the worst storm in centuries in the North East. Don't think a hurricane has hit the North East since before I was born. I live in Central Massachusetts but already my local Walmart is running out of non-perishable food and flashlights (how can people not have one?). What are people's reactions down in New Jersey or New York City? Is a lot this just media overhype or are they just trying to prevent another Katrina like incident?

As some of you may have read on facebook, I've been to the Air Force recruiter's office twice now. First time went bust because I didn't have my diploma yet. But now that I've got the diploma, I went back on Wednesday to try again. I took a practice ASVAB and talked to her about AFSCs. I know that everyone says that recruiters are liars but she seemed rather down to earth and shared some of her experiences. I've just gotta get my Mitchell Achievement in CAP so I'll be an E3 out of basic and lose a couple pounds before MEPs. Hopefully that won't be too far away.

I didn't hear about it until I got home from school, so probably close to 4:00 in the afternoon. I was in third grade and was 8 at the time. We weren't told anything at school, probably because of our tender age. My dad picked me up from the bus stop and looked sad, but didn't tell me what was going on. The TV was on in the living room and probably within ten seconds of walking in, I witnessed a replay of one of the towers collapsing. Confusion, anger, fear, sadness all entered my mind as my family and I watched the news for the rest of the night. As I tried to get to sleep, I heard what was probably an F-15 or F-16 and got scared. If I was nine or ten years older, I would have probably gone to enlist in the Army the next day.

Nooo! George Lucas Makes More Changes to Original Trilogy
Viggen replied to dsawan's topic in The Pub
Nooooooo! Ewoks blink now as well. Before someone else says it, Wicket blinked first! But seriously, why did he add the yell? It ruins perhaps one of the most important scenes of the trilogy. -
I did. I've wanted to hear it from his view for a couple of years now.

Figured I should make an update. First thanks for the kind words and support. Unfortunately, this summer turned out busier than I had anticipated, and I wasn't able to get anywhere with my enlistment. I'm disappointed because I had planned out a workout routine as well. Not to mention now I'll probably end up at basic in the summer. I'll be calling the recruiter tomorrow to schedule another appointment after a hike. Borrowed the "ASVAB for Dummies" book from a friend of mine and have been studying when I get the chance. Not really worried about that. I mean hell, I didn't study for the SATs and still scored well. On the plus side I am scheduled to go for my Mitchel review board in September. @ serverandenforcer, I know you told me two or three times to not do Security Forces but I still am interested in it. Seeing them at Cheyenne and talking to them at Schriever didn't help.

DLC 9 and 10 out

Can someone post a screenshot of the low-viz skin? -
It's gonna head right over Springfield and Westfield. Depending on how big it is looks like Worcester might get part of the eye wall. Guess I should expect a call asking for Civil Air Patrol members to volunteer in post storm clean up and relief.

Reports are saying that it was felt all the way up in Toronto. Doubt it if I couldn't feel it in MA and there's a tiny fault line somewhere in Worcester County. JFK was shut down and the Washington Monument is leaning now?

Is there an F-16B for SFP1?
Viggen replied to aircraft's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I converted them to use the WOI F-16 cockpit, avionics, and drop tanks. I think in the readme I stated at least twice that they were for WOE. Both used to have an '06 or prior patch release but I think they were removed. aircraft, I know it's not what you're looking for but there is a big spined F-16D Block 40 mod. Just be aware it's very old and may handle a little oddly depending on what patch you are using (2006 or 2008) http://combatace.com/files/file/1450-f-16d-block-40-usaf/ If you want F-16Bs though, find an F-16A Block 10 mod, and use the use the cockpit, avionics, and loadout from that in the F-16B. Just be sure to change the names of the cockpit, avionics, and loadout inis names in the F-16B.ini or whatever it's called to the ones you copied and pasted from the F-16A or it WILL NOT WORK. -

I like it! -
Unsung Mod is in ArmA 2 as well. I think it included a couple single missions.

Fighting in the F-102
Viggen posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Finally got SF2E and immediately went and downloaded NATO Fighters IV+. Flying the '62 campaign in the F-102. I'm two missions in with one KIA, a damaged plane, and one kill (granted he was an ace). I've already been nearly hit by MiG-17s more times than I can count on fingers alone and got chased half way into West Germany by a MiG-19 after losing my wingman. And that was just in the first mission. Second one was a recon flight so I just flew low and fast(ish). How does one survive in the Delta Dagger? The AIM-4s suck and the FFARs are useless. Can't accelerate past mach 1 outside of a dive either. I've only been up to 20,000 feet so I don't know if flying low is the problem. Is the trick to use slashing attacks and the vertical? -

This is a mod of the F-16B Block 10 released by Team Viper, nearly four years ago! It is ment for WOI. I have made INI edits so it now uses the stock F-16A Netz pit and avionics, gave is chaff and flare, and have edited the loadouts. There is no need for a weapons pack for this aircraft. The original aircraft was uploaded by Madjeff but its done by Wpnssgt, Tiwaz and USAFMTL. I ask that all thanks go to them. Have fun. And Read the Read Me. Update: 1/24/09: Added correct number of chaff and flares. Also now have compressed file to reduce bandwidth. -
Awesome! This makes three Huns flying again right? I saw a Hun flying at the Westfield Airshow last year. Didn't the Collings Foundation have an F-105 project?

Gross. I'm gonna go watch Battle of Britain to wash my eyes out.

Hitler rant parodies are always a good laugh this one is no different. But closing the road for two days has caused outrage? Wow. Anyone remember the Big Dig in Boston?

Why Jar Jar Binks is cool, and George Lucas is a genius
Viggen replied to Baltika's topic in The Pub
I can relate to this, my father showed me Star Wars for the first time when I was around 2 years old (1995-1996). He claims to have shown me Return of the Jedi first but I remember watching A New Hope first. There were soon many action figures and ships on the living room floor. Conveniently the digitally remastered version was coming out around that time too. Most memorable scene is probably something to do with an X-Wing, Darth Vader saying "No, I am you father", or any Boba Fett scene. It's interesting to look back and realize that as a child you like the Rebel alliance but as you get older the Empire becomes so much more cooler. Streakeagle, I think the second Jango action figure that came out had a magnetic head. -
I don't know daddyairplanes, I'd be rather proud to say I'm the first squirrel to get run over and live by a Lamborghini. P.S. The sound of that 6.5L V12 is amazing.

Was that at the airshow in Rhode Island? There's a small museum at the airport with a couple A-4s and an A-6. If memory serves me right there's a Blues A-4 as well. They have an F4H-1 as well.
