Mirage IIIV WIP
Viggen replied to Veltro2k's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
This is quite the Mirage. Looks like a fun challenge to fly. -
I've had Avast on my desktop and it's worked well. But when I went on their website all I could find were payware versions.

Masquerade!
Viggen replied to Spinners's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Sci-Fi/Anime/What If Forum
Spinners, your Yak is going to need a new reporting name. The Su-34 already has that. Your lighting in the first picture looks really cool though. How'd you do that? -
18 F-2s were damaged by tsunami.
Viggen replied to matsu0042's topic in Military and General Aviation
Found this on Airliners.net. Has some images of the F-2s and a UH-60J. Heard the Blue Impulse T-4s and some U-125s were damaged too. A shame, but when compared to the loss of human life, the damage done to these aircraft means nothing. http://www.kaskus.us/showthread.php?t=7420803 -
That B-58 looks huge. I'll be going in April (maybe, that or Nellis). Wish the lighting was better in the museum. Not that it mattered, I left the disposable camera with all my pictures on the airliner I took home! Good shots, Dave. Love that museum.

The 'What If' Aircraft Wish List
Viggen replied to Spinners's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Sci-Fi/Anime/What If Forum
I second Lavi. P.1154 YA-9 YA-7F X-32 and the proposed, less ugly production model. -
I've got an Echo1 (rebranded JG) CAR-15 (M4 before the M4 was designed) that's a couple years old now and shooting between 390 and 410 FPS. Very reliable and well built. Be careful with the stock though. I slipped during a winter airsoft war and dropped the carbine. Stock broke, but some rubber cement and electric tape fixed it up again. I've also got a JG MP5SD6 which has a better rate of fire but lower velocity. It's also really reliable. I like it more, but that may be my personal bias towards the MP5 in general. Don't buy one of those 1,000+ mags. I've seen them jam up a lot. The grenade launchers are stupid too, as are the landmines. Waste of money that just shower the BBs. I'd save the money for a gas powered pistol instead. Same goes for optics. Wind is going to carry a 6mm .20g BB moving at 400FPS. A 5.56x45mm NATO round, not so much.

Flying to Malta I hope? -
Great pictures. Reminds me of what happened here in central/north New England and in parts of NY on December 12, 2008. Nothing like hell freezing over in a night.

I'm looking at getting a laptop for gaming. Only thing is, it has to be cheap. I'm interested in the Alienware M11x. Anyone have it? If so, what can you run SF2 at FPS and detail wise? I'm also useless at understanding system specs, so could someone could tell me if Fallout 3, Grand Theft Auto IV, or ARMA 2 would be able to run on it at high detail levels? Or, are there any other good, yet cheap gaming laptops out there? I'd prefer something with an NVIDIA graphics card.

This is a cool story. Interesting that they considered the F-105. Funny, because when I first got WOE, I'd fly F-105s in Belgian colors.

So that first system put down a couple more inches of snow than we were expecting. Light puffy stuff though. Today's mix is crap. Killed my grandfather's snowblower. The F-350 that usually plows out my apartment's driveway couldn't push this heavy icy mix so a backhoe was used instead. Nice glaze on my car. Had some hail around 5:30 PM when I was freeing my car. Looks like another inch has landed here since then.

I wasn't expecting an SF1 version. Thanks for this Recon Rhino. -

F-35 falling on the cutting block ?
Viggen replied to Veltro2k's topic in Military and General Aviation
Axe the F-35B. If the Marines need more Harriers, they can always get some from the RAF. If the whole F-35 program was to get axed, which of the following would be the most cost effective alternative? Purchase more Block 50/52+ Vipers Overhaul and upgrade older, low hour Vipers at AMARG to modern standards Block 60s (Wouldn't we have to pay royalties to the UAE from some stupid reason then?) Purchase a smaller number of F-15Es ...Super Hornets -
RIP, Major Winters.

WIP especially for fans of Ace Combat
Viggen replied to Heberth's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Sci-Fi/Anime/What If Forum
That looks good! Never was able to unlock it, but certainly killed enough. -
Simple enough question that I can't find an answer full answer to. Which aircraft has the most air to air kills ever?
-
I saw that on wikipedia but, it being wikipedia, I wasn't sure. So that means the 109 has two titles under its belt: most produced fighter and most kills. Not bad for the little fighter.

It's Official..Border Collies are the Smartest Dogs
Viggen replied to UK_Widowmaker's topic in The Pub
I don't know, my dog is half border collie and he's not the smartest guy in the world. Unless the labrador is to blame?
