That would be an awesome conflict to be covered in a sequel by TK to WOI, featuring all the planes, vehicles, and weapons that made it ON TO a drawing board but not OFF it... Oh and include all that made it to prototype status too but not serious... ah, I mean cereal production! Edit: W00t! 500th post! :drinks_drunk:

Yeah, I also hope that "nuestros hermanos" beat the russkies...

Not everybody in the world cares for reelection... Recalling a joke I saw in Newsweek... Clinton, on a visit to China: "Do you have elections?" Chinese President: "Yes, yes, evely molning!"

I'd gather they're a bit better than the 688 class, since they have a pump-jet propulsion system instead of the normal screw, and a photonic mast instead of the traditional periscope... Weaponswise though, both seem the same, with 4 forward torpedo tubes and 12 vertical launch tubes for Tomahawks.

Well if the wind is blowing south then I'd also be in favour of nuking the whole of the Middle East - plz include Afghanistan in the list, but in such a case, please make sure all NATO troops got out of there first. Of course, forget about oil then, cause price is just going to go over the roof - maybe the penance of the world will be to drastically and radically turn everything over to renewable energy and getting the world rid of it's petroleum addiction? Or maybe keep it for the other purpouses for which it's more useful (making synthetic (spelling?) stuff, including medicinal applications). But probably it would do more harm than good so I guess that idea would have to be shelved... As for those Rods... am I the only one thinking that that just sounds wrong? Though I wonder, do those things carry any kind of AOE warhead? I mean, that would surely guarantee penetration into underground facility... hmmm, maybe even a nuke warhead, underground explosion, would kill everything and everyone, and ensure nobody returns to that place so quickly without endangering their own health... and still wouldn't hurt the rest of the world if it would keep contained underground... Hmm, sounds like a smart idea. Though I wonder, do such weapons really exist?

I SERIOUSLY hope that final will be Germany - Spain. Otherwise it's just not an european final... If Germany looses against Turkey though there'll be problems in Kreuzberg I guess...

Shouldn't it better be called "OsiraN" then?

Ultimate fighter

Never liked the Himat, but this... Looks awesome. Would be best-looking if it had twin vertical rudders instead of the Eurofighter's singular one. And would be better if it wasn't complete delta at the wing's back end, but was somewhat "crooked", sorta like the B-2's wing... -

Aurora
TX3RN0BILL replied to Klavs81's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Ahh, the Aurora... nice times in Jane's Fighters Anthology, breaking through the ceiling sky... those scramjets sure were noisy... About that pic, wouldn't the Aurora be towed away? -
Ironically nukes didn't work in the movie so wether we have nukes or not from the "ID4 Alien Invasion" POV is a moot point - in the end, the right application of just a small weapon would do the trick I think (I don't think there had to be other kamikaze attacks on all the other flying battlestations around the world to bring them down, Russel Case was the only one to "go back" ) . TBH I thought that after 9/11 Bush was going to push the little red button and let all of Afghanistan disappear under a mushroom cloud - don't think there'd be too many outcries against it, since so many people from all over the world died in that horrendous attack... And sometimes I wonder if in that godforsaken place it wouldn't be better to make more use of tacnukes...

Wasn't the next big phear date sometime around 2012? And yeah, hope I'll be seeing it from Heaven too (note I said heaven, not the sky...)

Me being half-portuguese I shouldn't feel good about Switzerland having won yesterday, but I do. I only feel bad about HOW they did it, and it was 100% the referee's fault. My other half being german I of course hope that "ze germans" kick some austrian a$$ even if it's just revenge against the said referee (Paultz) who is an austrian...

Of COURSE it was not finish, it was polish!!! And yeah, I'd LOVE to see this one too in the SF series!!! -
I only saw TRON when I got the special edition DVD (don't think I'd have much in mind back in 1982, I was probably only about 1 year old when it came out)... When I saw it of course (21st century already) there wasn't anything special about it except for that obvious 80's cheezyness... Curiously I also saw "The Last Starfighter" at the same time in DVD, and was more impressed by that... Never seen ET though... and LOL, I just recently bought "Escape from NY" in DVD, just for the fun, Kurt Russel's coolness is great, and no matter how cheesy John Carpenter's movies are, I can't help but love them...

I'd substitute Typhoons for Gripens, since Typhoons really are 20th century fighters being only ready in the 21st century... it's a shame! But Gripens, Rafales, and Super-Flankers, exportwise, FTW...
-
Eh? I thought it was an RPG that blew up next to him that was responsible for the shrapnel insertion... Anyways, I totally loved the movie - guess I gotta get the DVD to get the thing after the credits, I missed it... DAMN! Well, it's a good enough movie for me to get the DVD anyways, although I went to see the movie because I'm a robot/mecha fan, I'm not at all familiar with the comic books... Nevertheless, it's definitely a must see!!

I wonder what he said after that... uhm... intrusion into Kasparov's airspace... or would that be space on the air... or both...

Damn this looks Sierra Hotel!!!

Only if it's rushhour traffic at the airport, because if it's rush-hour traffic on the road, that van wouldn't go anywhere...

Your first combat flight sim...
TX3RN0BILL replied to Gunrunner's topic in General Flight Sim Discussion
First contact with teh virtual skies was Microprose's F-15 Strike Eagle 2, followed closely by F-19 Stealth Fighter and Dynamix's A-10 Thunderbolt. They were closely followed by first Aces over the Pacific and then Aces over Europe. Dang, I wish they'd done the X-Sequel they had planned... Dynamix ROCKED!!! After those came Jane's Fighters Anthology, and now WoE... And after you got hooked with TK's sims, what do you need more? -
F-29A "?"
TX3RN0BILL replied to Dels's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
More fodder for those who think names shouldn't be applied in more than one thing at a time, but Ozelot is already the name of a tiny german AA tankette fitted with Stingers. Hence, one of these days one would read in the report: "Ozelot accidentaly shot down by Ozelot." Better stick with Lynx IMHO -
Which Sci-Fi film would you like to see made ?
TX3RN0BILL replied to Syrinx's topic in Sci-Fi Simulations
Looks like Blade Runner will have a 25th anniversary edition rolling in theaters...
