Sweet Skull Squadron Skin! Beautiful work! -

Been brought to the attention to Star Wraith, apparently another one-man-show developer which does everything himself, and has apparently some nice games brought out, some of them available for free, like Star Wraith: Shadows of Orion, Star Wraith IV: Reviction, and RiftSpace... Haven't tried them out yet but they look cool... Check out Star Wraith's Website, scroll down to get to the freeware games!

I don't have that game but I think that any game company that's unwilling to at least permit addon content to its product to be made is shooting itself in the foot...

I wonder what would have happened if one of those old Tu-95's had a "bomb-bay failure" and released its payload flat out on the carrier... I mean, with a dead run over the carrier, even conventional bombs would do it...

Whats Your Favorite Airplane Movie
TX3RN0BILL replied to PIGHUNTA69's topic in Military and General Aviation
If you're gonna mention James Bond movies then at least do it right - start with "You Only Live Twice" ( "Little Nelly" FTW!!! ) , and end with "Tomorrow Never Dies" ( "L-39 Albatross" Action! ) . The Vulcan of "Thunderball" has no more significance (maybe even less) than the Antonov of "Die Another Day"... As for plane movies, heck, there's Stealth, The Final Countdown, Top Gun, Tora Tora Tora, Battle of Britain, Firefox, and others that I haven't seen but would like to see... -

Your Favorite Real Aircraft and Why?
TX3RN0BILL replied to Dave's topic in Military and General Aviation
My pic, by eras (and types): WWII: FW-190, no doubt (including the Tank variations). First true multirole fighter that was really good at everything (heck they even planned having it carry a torpedo - as well as was one of the first to carry a guided AAM, the Ruhrstahl X-4!). Korea: F-86, simply because it's a neat design, although I bet the armament could have been something better than .50 cals... Vietnam: Heheh, going with the underdogs here: OV-10 Bronco, with Heinemann's Hotrod (A-4) as runner-up. Seriously, a mother-friggin beautifully nice plane designed in the last era in which prop planes play front-role combat duty... Cold War: Fighter: F-14. Blame everything from Top Gun to Macross but it was the last of Grumman's Cats with all their might and power, runner-up being the F-15. Strike: Su-25 Frogfoot - just because it looks sleeker than the fugly A-10, although the A-10 is definitely the runner-up... Modern: Fighter: Flanker series, including the ubiquitous Su-47. It's sleek, sexy, and been updated to keep up with the times (which means, the latest Flankers can beat their all-time rivals, the F-15 Eagles, even when both face off in their latest versions) Runner-up would have to be the Dassault Rafale because it looks just a tad sexier than the Gripen, and has 2 engines. Prototype: XFV-12. One of the sleekest plane ever built - should have been built as a conventional plane!!! Runner-up is undoubtedly the X-29. And last but not least, civilian! I must say it's the Beechcraft Starship 2000, just because it looks like it's breaking the speed of sound even whilst standing still on the runway, and coolest prop-driven design. Runners-up in this case are the DC-3 (still want to fly in one of these so far) and the Cessna 152 dual-cockpit trainer version... this last one just because it's on this one that I have about a quarter of an hour of flight time in it! -

Yeah, because ILS does not affect Altimeter readings... or does it? But Sparky, it's unfair to compare BW with AJ, who wouldn't prefer watching AJ "sweat" over anything else??? AJ... *sigh* :nyam: Back on topic, is there any tentative release date on the second Transformers movie? Is there any guess floating around? -

Wasn't it mentioned at one time in the beginning of Die Hard 2 that alot of traffic was being rerouted to Dulles because of bad weather and that that would have been a reason for the lack of alternatives for the planes circling around above? Of course that still leaves the issue of them having more fuel to circle around than they should, but playing bad advocate, I could state that those planes could have come from nearby airports in the first place, couldn't reach their destination due to bad weather, and would have also no other place to land than Dulles due to bad weather... Although the odds of that happening are incredibly slim... -
Was in need of a Text-to-Speech software (guess that's what it's called, don't have any experience with such a thing) with multiple languages (specifically, with a female french-speaking voice), would you know of any? Was in need of one to make the lines of a french stewardess...

Actually, I preferred Die Hard 2 over Die Hard, and I also think that Aliens was better than Alien - and both movies were IMHO the best of their "quattrology" so far. Temple of Doom I didn't like as much as the others, but I bet I'll end up loving the upcoming Indy movie best... Back on topic, Longestpants, don't know if you've read the leaked script for the sequel, but IIRC it will feature both an aircraft carrier AND Soundwave. Though, would be cool if Bay would assume he'd made a mistake in calling Brawl Devastator in the first movie, and made an appearance of the Constructicons including the massive "Gestalt" Devastator - but if the script will be what the movie will be, I guess we'll just have to hope for the last movie of the trilogy for that wish to come true... -

Well if the SecDef didn't even know of it's existance, I have this craaazy idea that they might have kept it hidden from even you, Sparky... -
I guess those F-117 Nighthawks shot down over former Yugoslavia were also lucky shots then... Don't think the F-22 is invulnerable to bad luck... And it doesn't have to be AAA that fills the sky, MANPADs en masse can also be quite nasty...

Well nobody said Maggie (Rachael's character) was american so I don't mind her british accent either (it's actually australian or something IIRC the DVD's extra, though don't quote me on it), but the Autobots having british accent when 1. they're american cars, not international ones anymore and 2. none of their voices was british-sounding in the cartoon series - that is just not right. But Rachael Taylor... well, she was chosen for her beauty just like Megan Fox, and I hope we get to see more of their beauty in the sequel!!! -

TX3RN0BILL replied to sparkomatic's topic in Sci-Fi Simulations
Actually, I think she did ok, but she was chosen for her beauty talent, that much was admitted in the DVD's extra content, although she definitely was everything the director could have hoped for. The fact that they picked Shia LaBeuf to play as the geeky moronic kid who wins the lottery in many ways (first a car, then a girl, then he gets to save mankind), was also adequate - though I don't like him very much, he also played his role well. Unfortunately, John Turturro was a bit underused I think, they could have gotten more out of him, he has the potential to be alot more cool than comical as he was in the movie. Jon Voigt though performed his usual excellence. And whilst I agree that Megan Fox is hot, I wouldn't dismiss Rachael Taylor, who unfortunately ONLY performed her role as SMART blonde - she's beautiful as well and I hope for her return... -
Bem, ao menos os pilotos safaram-se... Mas não tou a ver a FA receber algum orçamento a mais para substituir esta perda...
