Yep, it had Megan FoxXX... *sigh* But I tell you one thing, if Peter Cullen hadn't voiced Optimus Prime, I bet none of us could state: "Hey - this movie really IS Transformers!" There's alot going for Optimus Prime's voice. Talking more on voices, I found it an extremely bad idea of having Bumblebee voiced in an almost british-accented english, especially after the pretty-much-american-sounding radio cues... Strangely, the more british-type english makes Ironhide sound a bit like Perceptor, which I also find a little tasteless... like, since they didn't use non-american cars to feature the autobots, why did they end up using non-american-sounding dialects?! It's not as if Optimus had to stand out of the crowd even on the vocal level - he does that anyway. Hugo Weaving's lines are also too cheesy for Megatron, rather more something that Galvatron would say ("I smell you, boy!" - Like, wtf? And the rest of the dialogue on the roof sounded really like Agent Smith and not like Megatron...) . Well, the sequel is supposed to feature Soundwave. I wonder how he's going to end up like, both in shape and in voice... -

Well, let's just say that Hasbro learned the lesson and that in the new movie, they didn't have ol' Optimus die but I think the movies don't have anything in common - I think such thoughts should hold out until we've gotten the chance of the two remaining movies (the next movie is supposedly in the works, as a script supposedly having been "leaked" out), since I think the producers saw the blockbuster hit the 2007 movie was, and actors already having stated their availability for the completion of the trilogy... But, with regards to TF lore, the '86 movie sucked big time because IMHO Transformers stopped being good with the movie. About almost all the old cast was wiped out in the movie, which was a shame. Galvatron was ridiculous compared to Megatron, which had sort of an evil "presence" no matter what he did (hehe, even when he was in a drunk stupor in the episode about the heart of cybertron). Skywarp and Thundercracker had their own personalities, especially Skywarp, which were of alot more story value than Scourge ever was, then again he gained alot more standing becoming Cyclonus... As far as the Autobots go, there really were no replacements for Wheeljack, Brawn and the others, whilst even Blaster was turned into somewhat of a comical relief figure (he got an acute case of "rhyme-itis" he never got rid of and that effectively ruined him, after the movie) - and Perceptor got perceptibly boring, as shown by Ultra-Magnus only too often. Not to speak of the most irritable transformer ever called Wheelie. The only good episode after the movie was "Only Human", featuring good old Cobra Commander, stating that they didn't make terrorists the way they used to - and apparently, transformers neither. Oh well, if the series had anything in common with the movie, I would say that the series showed that Gold Bug's face was more close to what the 2007's Bumblebee would end up with than the original, since they didn't use any G1 vehicles at all for the movie... On an interesting note, the movie had the error of Devastator actually having been the decepticon "Brawl", and the writers warned the director twice about that mistake - don't know why they didn't correct it, but if it had been corrected, that would have made the entire decepticon cast with names starting with the letter "B" save Frenzy, Starscream and the old Buckethead Megatron... -
I just hope it'll be as good as my expectations... Something on par of Freespace would be nice!

Sounds nice, though BP was supposedly marred with bugs, and I think it's way more limited in scope than Tomorrow War, not to speak of Infinity...

Any interest?

Don't have unlimited ammo?
TX3RN0BILL replied to skyline's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Wouldn't care not having enough missiles, but IMHO one can never carry enough Mike-Mike, even if you only use a little to blast enemy planes - still have to have more for strafing enemy ground targets - doesn't matter if they're official mission targets or not! -
Any interest?

Sex appeal. The SU-33 is sexier than the F-15. 'Nuff said. P.S.: I WANT IT!!! -
What is the 4-jet-engined delta plane in the first picture?

I admit I'm not aware of the authenticity of that photo but on --> FAS.org's Groom Lake Imagery site <-- the pictures look very similar... ("I'm a toydarian, Jedi tricks don't work on me!") Or are those all photoshopped too?

Wouldn't mind seeing the Valk once, too... Saw the A-12, which is similar to the SR-71, on the deck of USS Intrepid in NY... that museum was cool... I think I crashed trying to land the A-6 in the simulator...

"Pictures or it didn't happen!" :tomato2:

Thank god I started only with F-15 Strike Eagle 2, seemed to have F-19 quality graphics already. Only after it did I get into F-19. Damn, they don't make sims like F-19 anymore... with all that stealth stuff... heheh... That's why WoE's F-19 is such a pleasure to fly, brings back memories... Now I only need that Iran/Persian Gulf map (thank god Jane's Fighters Anthology had it too!) and then I'm back in business pounding mud and blasting Mirage IIIs, F-4s, F-5s and the occasional F-14 out of the sky, besides pounding the elite iranian guards to rubble...

Anyone interested in Yukikaze aircraft?
TX3RN0BILL replied to Shin_kazama's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Sci-Fi/Anime/What If Forum
OFP is kind of a Sandbox game in which most of the "curious stuff" (like the Wyvern posted above) are singular addons and not total conversion "mods" (like the possibility of adding single aircraft to WOE as opposed to installing total conversion mods). The best site for Operation Flashpoint Addons & Mods would be http://ofp.gamepark.cz also known as OFP.info. Use the site's search function and mostly if it exists for OFP that site has it. Other than that head over to the official BIS Forum at http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin/ikon...1/ikonboard.cgi and use that forum's search forum before asking, but if the search function doesn't turn up anything you could try posting a question about the existance of whatever you're searching. The reason I like OFP so much, is exactly because like in WoE I can add little bits and pieces and mix it my way, instead of just dealing with complete mods that would have something I wouldn't like etc. There are even total conversions that alter the special effects of the game etc. I won't point you to some of the best mods because I don't know which they'd be, but --> HERE <-- is a good thread of the official forum which states the best ways to modify OFP to make it a much more pleasant game than vanilla OFP... Edit: Just discovered this crazy video on youtube, just to show what is possible with extra modifications... : -

Heheh, you can go Dinosaur-hunting in an X-Wing if you'd want to in OFP... or fight Godzilla as a Samurai... Frankly there is really a lot possible in OFP... -

TX3RN0BILL replied to Shin_kazama's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Sci-Fi/Anime/What If Forum
It's not "ingame" from the get-go, it's an addon you have to download, then put the .pbo file in the "addons" folder of Operation Flashpoint, then you can go into the ingame editor, put in your unit (meaning the man unit that is YOU), then add the plane (preferably having selected an island with a runway, would help), and then select "preview", for a quick spin... other than that you can build complete missions with enemies flying around etc, can be done simply if you get to know the ingame editor, it's pretty user-friendly I think... -

Rafale M will operate in USS Eisenhower
TX3RN0BILL replied to Silverbolt's topic in Military and General Aviation
Well, I don't think where I'm from should have any effect on what oppinions I should have or be able to state, but for the record, I consider myself a european, as does the Rafale... And I wasn't "ragging" anything, just wondering about the good old US of A... Since it's the USA who decides in the end, not the USN, which I bet would prefer something better... But I won't say another word... -

I dare say that OFP is THE MOST VERSATILE game I've ever seen... there's almost EVERYTHING for OFP... your best source for OFP stuff would be OFP.info -
Never played Wing Commander, and only played the demos of Tie Fighter and X-Wing Alliance... Though I think that the best games since were the Descent: Freespace and Freespace 2 games... Those rock... Huge capital ships, nice graphics, nice storyline with nice FMV sequences in between... all in all very nice... Back on topic, I remember I've tried out the Infinity Combat Prototype, but I didn't manage to do anything because I was kinda hoping to fly it with a joystick (for me, space combat has to be with joystick, mouse is just bs, and keyboards are there just for extra keys, not for flying), so I wonder if with the more recent releases there's been any sort of joystick support? Does anybody know? If yes, and if this MMO follows the Guild Wars policy (pay the game once and play for free) - I'll be there!

Heh, I also started on F-15E Strike Eagle 2, don't even remember when it was but must have been around late eighties... then came F-19 Strike Fighter, Sierra's A-10, followed by Aces of the Pacific and Aces over Europe... OMG... I remember getting up like at 5 AM on a Sunday morning to play those two on my dad's PC for extra time because on sundays I knew my parents always slept more... After that came Jane's Fighters Anthology and now finally WoE... never tried out MSFS although my dad has the 1.0 around still somewhere, unopened I guess... I have NO IDEA how many hours I've spent flight simming so far...
