Well, the altitude information is not in the Formation.ini file; I just checked. The problem with running not-terribly-nimble AI-driven aircraft at extremely low altitude is that they could crash pretty easily.

If it's the Radeon problem I think it is, you deactivate airplane shadows to get rid of it.

I'm using a Radeon X800XL with Cat. 5.10 drivers. The 6-series Cats produced artifacts with my card. I haven't tried the 7-series Cats. You might want to check out the CombatAce Knowledge Base for performance-boosting tips.

Stuff looks nice! I'm afraid 80MB is about my limit for a single download package, though.

I'll help out if I can. Not tonight, though.

The nice thing about the Thirdwire-series game architecture is that it permits just about anyone with the time and inclination to try his hand at 3d modelling, including pit-making. Anyone willing to step up to the plate to help with pit-making would probably be extremely welcome. The veterans have their hands full.

There aren't any textures in the 'SovietCamo1' folder that's included in the download. I've tried to substitute other camo sets, but the plane won't recognize them.

Because of the SF game series, I got brave enough to do game modding; I could take stuff apart to see what made everything tick.

When you're switching between internal and external views of an aircraft, what determines which enviro sound files are played? Is there an .ini entry somewhere that regulates cockpit noise and external noise, specifically one that suppresses cockpit noise when viewing an aircraft externally?
Thanks in advance.

Good terrains with lots of water: Libya terrain and Bering Straits terrain. Can't answer the question about the carrier group, sorry.

Hi alli was wondering, and i have a idea to make my WoE more beautifull... if i resise the Tiles, to a high resoution and with more details, what will happen? is any problem do this?
My guess is that any serious effort to make the GermanyCE tiles look better would result in some kind of improvement. I say go for it and see what happens.

A date with Poppy Montgomery or the MiG-29 is being released. OK, I give up.

Yes, it is.Thanks. I think.

Is it a .bmp image? It's taking a really long time to load.

These effects are great; they really add something to SFP1. Thanks CA.

The tree grouping idea sounds good. However what realy makes this game better than all the rest are the tons of new airplanes that the modders keep dishing out.Yup.

I know this might sound like a stupid question, but what would be an example of a sim with cutting-edge terrain in it?

I guess we know when the patches for the other games are going to be released. *Thinks about all of the installed mods that will be affected by the patches. Lays out ceremonial mat and sword.* "Ah, one final glass of bourbon," he says happily.

I've experienced the veering effect on takeoff from time to time. I haven't discovered the cause. It's always a veer to the right, never to the left.
Is there a way?

I took the liberty of doing some investigating (thanks Tank). In the MissionControl.ini within the MissionData bundle, there are [Altitude] settings that can be altered. To keep any modified settings, you'd just store the edited MissionControl.ini file in your Flight folder, overriding the bundled default MissionControl.ini file.
I have never tried this mod myself.
