I just want to add that the mod works fine in both v. 1.5 and v. 2 of Gepard's 'Israel' terrain.

You guys should probably just ask Lexx directly for recommendations on sun settings; he may have discovered something even better since releasing his nuke mod. Key data are probably just a handful of values in the 'ESini' file.

These are my enviro settings; I can't remember all that relate specifically to the sun, unfortunately.
Use your text editor to create a file called 'EnvironmentSystem.ini' and cut and paste the attached data to it. Put the new file in your 'Flight' folder. If you don't like the results, just delete the file.

Addendum: The guy who seems to do the most experimenting with lighting effects is Lexx Luthor. I'd check out posts by him at the Thirdwire site for more lighting ideas; that's where I picked up a lot of my info.

You can alter the appearance of the sun by editing the 'EnvironmentSystem.ini' text file; a graphics program like Photoshop wouldn't do the trick for you.
The 'ES.ini' file is bundled in the 'FlightData.cat' file located in the WOV 'Flight' folder. You can extract the 'ES.ini' file using the extract utility downloadable from CombatAce.

I had to delete this tileset mod because I discovered serious mistakes I made with some of the targa files. Sorry about that. I'm doing repairs now and I'll submit the corrected tileset as soon as I can.

I think in order to use desert terrains with stock SFP1 files, you have to have access to the 'Desert.cat' file from SFP1. I see a ton of terrain files listed in the 'Desert.cat' in SFP1 file that are not listed in the 'GermanyCE.cat' file in WoE, which could account for the white-outs you are experiencing. The only way to get legal access to the stock SFP1 desert tiles is to buy a copy of SFP1.
I own SFP1 and WoE, and I can get the stock 'Desert' terrain to work in WoE because I've transferred a copy of the 'Desert.cat' file into WoE.

Hmmm... I did this a while ago. It looks like the two key values are under [Engine] in the data.ini file; these are:
'NumAfterburnerStages'... this should be set to '1'
and
'MaxThrottle'... this should be set to '1.02'
Edit: Oops, well, it looks like Fubar beat me to it.

Introduction:
This is a tile set mod for the 'GermanyCE' terrain in 'Wings Over Europe'. Features include new water and road textures, and an overall hue change for the land textures.
To install:
1.) Back up your installed copy of the 'GermanyCE' terrain.
2.) Drag the enclosed 'GermanyCE' folder to the 'Terrain' directory of your installed copy of 'Wings Over Europe'.
3.) Fly.
Please note that this tile set has only been tested in 'Wings Over Europe', and only with the stock 'GermanyCE' terrain. If you wish to use this tile set with your own mod release, please ask permission first. Thanks.
