  1. Anybody seen....

As a presenter though, he ought to stick to his day job...I notice he's cropped up in a couple of other aircraft related shows on Discovery\History Channel too. Agreed. Im sure they could have found someone a bit better to present the show. Mike
  2. Anybody seen....

Actually i quite agree with you on comparison. Dogfights is better. The thing that stands out for me though with showdown is that you can watch the birds in flight. The zero I mentioned earlier was the last flying zero on the planet so in this respect i think its quite good. Didnt really think about 'moga' being on active duty while filming it . Guess thats got alot to say about the air force. Mike
  3. Woohoo!!! My first medal in the second gen sims and its one of these.....
  4. When i fly the mirage III i tend to dive bomb a lot. Usually go up to around 5000 agl then dive onto the target and start to pull up at about 1000ft. When the target goes out of view underneath the bottom of the cockpit i release the bombs. Usually get around 70% success rate. If i miss i just send my wingman in then. Mike
  5. Interesting topic. I think it would come down to what aircraft it is in my case. If it was an aircraft that im interested in then i probably would be willing to purchase it, especially if it came in a pack with different versions. I think someone also mentioned an updated campaign ini that will include the new aircraft in the stock campaigns available with the release of the aircraft, that would be awesome. (im already drooling over the thought of a TW standard su27 package!!!) Mike
  6. Now this is a sim...

Holy crap. What a machine. I want one. Wonder what they would give me in a trade for my old rig!?!?
  7. First kill from my combined SF2/SF2:E/SF2:V install.... By the way has anyone noticed that screenies save automatically as JPEGs in the 2nd gen sims? Unless its just mine lol
  8. Gotta say guys you have done a really good job of selling SF2 Europe to me with these awesome shots. My internet connection is going to have a hammering this weekend because ill be buying all three of the second gen sims
  9. Couple of shots i took on a mig-cap at dawn
  10. Just thought id raise a point about the fact that, while transferring everything from my old computer to my new rig (which has finally been set up and is ready to go ) i noticed the size on the different WOX things i have. 10GB!!!!! Over the years I have donwloaded great mods, and the ones i didnt like i just deleted but i was still shocked by the size of this file. However i bet there are many people here who have bigger files. Just wondering how big some of them are with the guys that mod, and the guys that have been playing the series since it first started.... Mike
  11. size of WoX data

I know this is slightly off topic but ive just had my first WOI experience on my new rig. I thought id jump straight in at the deep end and try everything maxed out (graphics and resoloution) and im really pleased with the result. Set myself up for an anti-shipping mission in the a-4h ahit 73 and the FPS didnt drop below 30 and most of the time was maxed out at 58 with everything on unlimited and the resoloution at 1680 x 1050. Finally have a good rig to enjoy these games. Back to topic. 85GB HOLY SH*T!!!!!! Mike
  12. size of WoX data

I can just imagine..... It would be interesting to see the total amount of data that would be collated if everyone that has any WOX mods put them into one place. Mike
  13. Are you a skeptic, what do you believe in?

Im a believer too!!!! Lol On a serious note ive seen a dead guy walking his dog outside his house 1 week after he died. Didnt know at the time that he was dead though. Not sure about ouija boards though but ive had one strange experience. We decided to make our own and try it with a glass taken from my mates kitchen. just a plain old glass about 6 inches tall and clear glass. We had a go in an area that apparently is haunted and nothing happened. so we smashed the glass against a wall and left the oija board intact and went off to play football. A few hours later we decided to give it another try in a different area and went back to retrieve our board, and there sitting on a rock was the glass we used. COMPLETELY INTACT!!!!!! There wasn't even any glass fragments on the ground. We couldnt believe our eyes. Needless to say we gave it a miss after that Mike
  14. I used to have the same problem. Beagles were always the worst for me, until i adopted the same tactic scouserlad describes above. I found it works like a treat as long as you get the angles correct and don't fall too far behind them when you pull up. Mike
  15. I find that the cobra manouver works quite well with most aircraft. This is done exactly as you say except pulling the stick downwards wich gives a drastic drop to your airspeed making the bandits overshoot. I was being chased home by 2 syrian mig-21 in my mirage 3 a few days ago and pulled off the best cobra manouver ive ever done and both of them flew straight into my guns. 2 kills for the price of 1!!!! Mike
  16. If thers one thing that I think defines the difference between WOI and the rest of the series its the CAS missions in the mountains. I LOVE IT!!!!!!!
  17. Where i come from squirrels are pronounced Sqrewels. Actually thats just me
  18. anybody watch Band of Brothers TV show

Tbh i thought David Schwimmer played quite a good part. the sort of character that everyone loves to hate. I think a game of this series might be pushing it slightly as you get the usual arguments about what should or should not be included, comparisons to other similair games and people just complaining about it which i think might affect peoples opinions of the film series. On the other hand i would most probably get it if it came out Mike
  19. Site down for some People

Yeah same here. Tried accessing the site from my bookmarks and it wouldnt let me. Typing the address out worked however Mike
  20. anybody watch Band of Brothers TV show

I thought this show was fantastic. Bought the DVD boxset as soon as it came out. The bonus documentary disk is really cool too. Curahee!!!! Mike
  21. Its operation tainted cigar v2. Not sure if the widesky mod is included in it. Funny thing is around 15mins after i took the shot i was nailed by an sa-2, so i guess i shuldnt have been worrying about the weather Mike
  22. Weather isnt looking too clever.......
  23. SF2:Europe

I was wondering to myself this morning. Wouldnt it be great to have a TW game with next gen graphics? Having played H.A.W.X which i thought was ok but a bit too 'arcadey' for my tastes, I would love to have that level of graphical detail in a TW sim. However this would be massive amounts of work especially since TK does all the coding himself. Oh well maybe one day it will happen Mike
  24. Hi. Im trying to change the stock WOI 6 day war campaign to add a unit of USMC f-4Bs that are goin to be carrier based. I know how to add carriers and aircraft etc to a campaign but do not know how to add a completely new unit. I cant seem to find a thread in KB that answers my question so if somebody can explain how to do this or point me to a thread that explains it I would really appreciate it. Cheers Mike
