Just thought id share my latest purchase with you guys. My brother and I have recently gotten into shooting and enjoy target shooting. We both have .22 air rifles which are well under the UK legal limit so not very powerful. (Note i do not use them for anything other than target shooting) but still find them fun to use. So I decided to buy a c02 powered air pistol aswell. I went for the Umarex desert eagle full size and my bro went for the colt 1911 special combat. Here are the pics i took this morning when they arrived (I bought the laser sight seperately a week or so ago) Sorry that I only took 2 but i will hopefully add a few more with a decent camera as I took these using my phone. A medium well 16oz t-bone steak with pepper sauce thick cut chips (or fries) onion rings and cheesy garlic bread. Desert has to be either double chocolate cake or a slice of lemon cheescake, both with cream. All this is washed down with a couple of bottles of bulmers cider. (In case you yanks dont know it is, its a really nice sweet cider that is served in a glass with ice, Perfect for those warm summer bbqs aswell. Damn, i gotta go and eat!!! Mike

Nice pics. That A-10 with the bling attachment really got the juices flowing -
The fact that they even question his citizenship after him giving his youth to serve the US is, frankly deeply insulting. If this guy gets deported then there is something seriously wrong. Mike

No fly Zone over Libya...
MaverickMike replied to Slartibartfast's topic in Military and General Aviation
Makes you wonder how stupid the Libyan airforce must be to even attempt to fly -
BBC reckon it was a mechanical failure. Pro gaddafi forces will still count it as a victory I bet http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-12816226 Mike

No fly Zone over Libya...
MaverickMike replied to Slartibartfast's topic in Military and General Aviation
Whether or not we agree with the no fly zone the fact is that gaddafi is brutally killing his own people in order to stay in charge. If the countries with the ability to do something about it just sit on the side line and watch this happening then they are as guilty as gaddafi himself. I just hope things come to a conclusion before things get any worse. Mike ps as a side note I wish all the brave pilots who are enforcing the no fly zone luck, and hope they come back to their countries and families safely. -

How do you know it was a SAM? I dont think I have seen any news reports on what shot the aircraft down, Looks like a missile of some sort though Mike -
No fly Zone over Libya...
MaverickMike replied to Slartibartfast's topic in Military and General Aviation
This may sound like a dumb question to you senior members and military guys, but how exactly do they enforce the 'no fly zone'? Does this mean no aircraft (civilian or military) ar allowed in the air? do they fly CAP missions over the no fly zone, or do they maintain distance and monitor the airspace using radar and scramble fighters to intercept any transgressors? Sorry if its slightly off topic but I have no idea how these work Mike -
Any inkling as to the price? Whats the bets that you can get a fully fledged next gen console for cheaper? Mike

can you boot into safe mode? If you can have a look at your startup programs and see if you can find one that relates to the trojan. If you can stop it from runnning at system startup then a scan using antivirus software should find it. I have gotten rid of a few of these in the past so if you need any more help let me know. Only reformat as a last resort Mike

After a recent trip to my local game shop I found DCS:Black Shark for £4.99 so i picked it up. (Bargain) I have started going through the training missions and understand the basics. I have gotten as far as the cold startup training mission. This is the first real sim that I have decided to spend some time 'learning', so to speak so I was wondering how the regular flight sim guys go about learning a new sim. Are there any ways which you guys find help you to learn quicker? Do you read the manual cover to cover? Look on youtube for user created training videos? Buy a third party book and read that? Any help would be much appreciated Mike

War for Isreal instructions question
MaverickMike replied to LouG's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
If your having trouble with campaigns and the file structure of the thirdire games in vista. Have a look at the knowledge base on this site. It helps alot. In answer to your question when you run any of the exe files for the thirdwire sims it automatically creates the so called 'mod' directory within the 'saved games' folder of your usernames directory i.e. C:\Users\'YOURNAMEHERE'\Saved Games\ThirdWire If you navigate to this folder and drop all of the contents it says in the readme the mod should work. -

I actually prefer the 'F' version for some reason. I do fly the E though. The screenies I posted are from a campaign I started this weekend. Mike -
