Screen Shots From Beta Version
Cali replied to Dave's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
They said every 2 weeks they'll have a new beta. If they started when the pre-purchase was released, then that would make a new beta out today....or very soon. -
I want one, I'd have to get a smaller desk for the office to make room for this. Maybe tax returns will be nice to me

PRESS RELEASE PRE-PURCHASE “DCS: A-10C WARTHOG”
Cali replied to Cali's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
I never really understood the fight between F4 and Lock on, they are 2 different beast. It'll be like comparing Roseanne Barr against Jessica Biel they are totally different. Falcon has things that lock on doesn't have and still don't have after a few patches. Even having a better graphics engine the nights in lock on is nothing compared to F4, F4 looks way better. But F4 has some horrible graphics compared to lock on. F4 simulates 1 jet, well lock on does more then 5. Like you guys said, it's a game, we play it on the computer, it's a game. And like Rugg said, Mower seems like a die hard DCS fan now. I remember him always bashing lock on, but he has been spamming the ed forums over the last few weeks. I don't think the F4 fans are gonna bash DCS, but they might not be truly happy until they get a fighter, but that is how most of us feel. I said it beofre and I'll say it again, it's gonna be some years down the road until we have enough jets like in lock on. -
Streakeagle, that's why I would wait 6-12 months before I bought the warthog. See what people say after they had some use put through them. I know the virtual thunderbirds use it, but I want to see what people that fly combat missions say. And how they hold up after some time.

PRESS RELEASE PRE-PURCHASE “DCS: A-10C WARTHOG”
Cali replied to Cali's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
I talked to one of the mods at SimHQ about some of the things going on there. His reply back to me was reasonable, but I still have my doubts after I saw something posted on ed's forums. I still think my feeling about the deal is correct. JM, I thought your post were good and it was your feelings on how you see things. Some people took it the wrong way for sure or have other thoughts behind their post as well. -

PRESS RELEASE PRE-PURCHASE “DCS: A-10C WARTHOG”

Where did you hear that from? -
I may have a TrackIR4 for sale within the next week and a half.

That's why I was asking, I know some games you can back up things and some you can't. It would suck to have to input everything back in. Also with CH, there is so much you can do with it.
-
Sounds easy enough, have you thought about making a program for them? I'm asking because with CH, TM, etc... have them. I have a CH set up and if I reinstall my OS, all I have to do is install CH manager (CH program) and copy/paste my profile into the CH map folder without having to reprogram EVERYTHING all over again. It would be a PITA to have to do that every time.
-
Looks good, I hope it easy to program and install like CH. I wish I could gut my cougar and install the CH guts......that would be an awesome stick!

Gay.....

I will have to come over and try it out, not this weekend but the one after that could be good.

I'm waiting for the new T.A.R.G.E.T software to be released when they release the Warthog. I like the Cougar also, too bad it has problems and the tech/customer service isn't even close to CH. http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=949366&postcount=100

Good review Rugg, I feel bad for the poor sucker that puked on that F-16 ride. But I don't think it was much and he only gets sick in cars if he isn't driving and going around curvey hills. I feel like getting one right now after reading this!

Revenge, did you get it working with Windows 7? I haven't been able to get mine working with W7 yet. Gonna try again here in the upcoming weeks and hopefully I can get it to work. Have you been to Cougar World? It has everything you will need to know about the Cougar....here is a link http://cougar.flyfoxy.com/ Hope it helps and enjoy.
-
Guess you haven't tried CH yet? I have had my CH set-up (stick, throttle and pedals) for about 7 years. And they work the same as I just took them out of the box! I bet people can't say that about their cougar. I did recently buy a cougar in June, but can't get it to install in windows 7, guess what....my CH installed just fine. I bought the cougar cause I work on F-16's and I like the throttle. Not a big fan on the CH throttle, but it does it's job very well.

Nice pictures

:) quiet in here

Congrats and no sleep or play time for you, hehe.

Nice job, I always score 82-84. But know I might have to try for a 90 so I don't have to test twice a year.
-
That's what I'm talking about. I'm sure most people have engine start up and shut down buttons programmed somewhere. If I have an engine problem, I just press the button for that engine.
-
If it's $300-350, then I'll most likely get it. But then I'll have to decide if I want to sell my Cougar, if I haven't modded it by then. I don't understand why everyone is making a big deal about dual throttles?
