  1. Find the Copperhead

One of the three species of poisenous snakes that are indigenous to the area I live in, is in this image. Can you find it?
  2. There's two posters here who may have all the answer for you.....they go by "CaptCA", and "Commander31". Perhaps they'll see this thread and chime in.
  3. While flak may be somewhat thin in-game, as opposed to what it was like in RL (as far as WoV & SF2V are concerned), that can be easily rectified, to the point of simulating the NVA's "black sky" air defense strategy. Also, radar fire control for AAA is available in 3rd-party add ons, and Diego's working on an accurate SON-9A model.
  4. wov in win 7 troubles

    Moved to proper forum
  5. The car...

Cool.....silver's a nice, subtle color. I once made the mistake of opting for a red 'Vette. It was certainly not a "stealthy" shade, by any stretch of imagination. I often found myself the object of every cop's attention wherever I traveled.
  6. The instant you apply even the slightest degree of deflection to whatever control surfaces control pitch on a given airframe, you will cause a change in altitude...unless you have a surface applying equal and opposite deflection located somewhere on the other side of the center of movement (such as a canard). Aircraft performing the Cobra are changing altitude, however slight that change might be. It's nature's law, Danial-san, not mine
  7. Find the Copperhead

Very good. I took my neighbor's son along on a fishing trip yesterday afternoon, and we encountered another fisherman who warned us that there was a "den" of copperheads in the rocks that we were fishing from....well, they turned out to be corn snakes....quite harmless, but easy to confuse with a copperhead
  8. Find the Copperhead

Very good. You saw enough of it in time to probably avoid a nasty bite....however, you've just pointed out its tail. This copperhead is staring up at the photographer...can you see its head?
  9. Want to count rivets? Hang out near a marsh.....at night Be kind to our web-footed friends For a duck may be somebody's mother Be kind to your friends in the swamp Where the weather is alwaaaaays damp Now, you may think that this is the end... WELL, IT IS!
  10. Ironically, Wrench and I were discussing bump-mapping and counter-sunk rivets (on Mustangs, no less) last night...lol
  11. No kill like a..... missile kill

And the absolute best missile kill, is when one takes out a strike group at 100 NM, before they even have a chance to call feet wet, right over their own territory http://forum.combatace.com/uploads/1219754548/gallery_279_43_32287480.wmv
  12. They are not modified SAMs. They are true SSMs. The ICBM will climb well over 30K meters, and will reach across the entire map. The IRBMs will go up to 200 km....it uses the same guidance as an ARM. The sub moves, it's really nothing more than a periscope (submerged 3D models don't work too well). The sub has "submerged" hit boxes, and can be armed with torpedos. As it's designated as a "submarine", it really only works in scripted missions.
  13. OMG........It's

Wrench's birthday today! Where's Baghdad Bob when you need'em?
  14. It works fine. In fact, I have elevator and rudder trim mapped to one of the hat switches on my HOTAS.
  15. Yes, BUT (and it's a BIG BUT) they will need varying degrees of updating....some can make do with just a few .ini edits, and some will require a whole 'lotta TLC.
  16. The concepts been there almost since the beginning. These are from a couple of years ago, and not quite up to snuff graphically. 17. Since it specifically states "angle", I'd say that it's safe to conclude that it's in degrees. That statement goes in the flight control section of the data.ini.
  18. The default SF2I F-16 has a fuselage vapor-effect, as does the 6-year old Mirage factory F-14A (the first model to feature it).
  19. Keep in mind that you're setting cruise speed in IAS, not TAS. 325 KIAS at 22000 feet is about 500 knots IAS at sea level.
  20. Yes it is, as I've done so on numerous occasions, back when the series was still generating FACs.
  21. Interesting Interview with Ex-Taliban Fighter

The Ground Zero Ocean, future home of giant atomic eels
  22. Spurred on by this thread at Third Wire's site (http://bbs.thirdwire.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=7425), and using anecdotal info from the article supplied by Moonjumper/Crusader, I've decided to apply a few subtle tweaks to the Shahak flight model (as it's my favorite SF2I aircraft), as an experiment. The lack of stall buffet, and the post-stall behavior (if one ignores the stall-warning horn) are based off of the descriptions provided by LT Colonel "A" in the article. Movie Link
  23. The download server seems to be experiencing issues, so I've decided to attach the file, here. SF2I_Shahak_FM.rar
