  2. It sure looks like a quad barrel in that image....but wikipedia states: Mk 4 Mod 0 Developed by the US Navy, this pod is fitted with the Mk 11 Mod 5 20 mm cannon, along with 750 rounds of ammunition.[20] This pod is said to have been used on a variety of US Navy and Marine Corps aircraft including the A-4 Skyhawk, F-4 Phantom II, A-7 Corsair II,and OV-10 Bronco. And a search using Mk 11 mod 5 yields: Mk 11 Mod 0/5 (Twin-Barrel Automatic Cannon, 20x110mm USN) So it's a two-barreled cannon, based on the Crusader's weapon.
  3. Mk 4 pods carried a single-barreled MK 11 cannon. The MK 11 was similar (and probably a derivative of), the 20 mm guns carried by the F-8 Crusader.
  4. What If Beatles....

What if the Beatles had composed and released it? It would have been a forgotten B-side track, at best. As it was STH wasn't a hit when it first came out, and didn't attain popularity for about two to three years..... IIRC, it was released when I was in 8th grade, and only started getting airplay during my sophomore year in high school. By the Spring of 1974, you could not listen for more than 3 to 4 hours at a stretch on any given progressive-rock station, without hearing STH at least once Led Zep released the Physical Graffiti album the following Spring (1975), and it literally flew off the shelves....I had to go to three different department stores, just to find a copy.
  5. Really....this took me all of three minutes, and skinning's not my thing. Now, all you have to do is convert it to a 32-bit tga.
  6. The mod you applied is undoubtedly using old (superseded) F-4B lod files. Delete them, and all will be fine. BTW, no USN F-4 unit ever carried gunpods in combat over SEA. Only Marine and USAF units did.
  7. Wrong data. There's a left and right dual AAM rack for the MiG-23......APU-62L & APU-62R
  8. It's only available as a download, from the developer's site: https://store.thirdwire.com/store.htm

A mod of the existing SF F-4E pit, originally painted by MK2 & Deacon 272. It's been treated to some additional detailing and "avionics" .
  10. The default player-flyable aircraft in the SF2 series are also better detailed, in regards to both cockpits, and external models. Mods are also much easier to apply (and create).
  11. Utah women may face murder charges after miscarriages

"Lawmakers were responding to the case of a 17-year-old pregnant Utah woman who paid a man $150 to assault her physically in the hope that the beating would cause her to miscarry. The child was born anyway and put up for adoption. And while the man involved is currently behind bars, prosecutors found they had no basis in state law to prosecute the young woman. She was in her seventh month when she tried to terminate her pregnancy" I believe that it's a woman's right to decide on whether or not to seek an abortion....however, what this girl did, is facilitation of a crime that could have potentially led to the death of her unborn child. She should be liable for criminal charges, plain and simple.
  12. Here's a sneak peak at some of the effects and flight-dynamics modeling that we're considering for the Korean Air War mod. The terrain-set used in the video is the default SF2 Desert terrain. This was done for as we needed a fast-loading terrain for test purposes, the new Korea terrain will be, shall we say, quite target rich http://forum.combatace.com/uploads/1266188234/gallery_279_43_35512272.wmv
  13. WoP's AI and dynamics model is simplefied, when compared to real flight sims (like its IL2 predecessors). That's one reason that it "runs" quite well. It's essentially a console game ported to PC.

  19. Looking for work

I've been in the IT field since late 1991. Earned my A+ cert in 1997, my Network + cert in 1998, and my MCSE in 1999 (NT 4.0). I started out (late 1990 - mid 1993) performing break-fix service on HP laserjets and Zerox copiers. Made more money doing that (adjusting for inflation), than I did as a network admin, in 2003-2005. Of course, there's no money in break-fix service anymore, unless you're self-employed. The IT market here is essentially in the toilet, and there's a lot of qualified people, who are currently unemployed. Joining the military, or getting an IT-position with a federal, state, or local government agency, is the way to go.
  20. Modified bitmaps and tgas are fine. You cannot simply upload TW's original work, without modding or tweaking it, first. It then becomes a mod....get it?
  21. The EMB series mod will do absolutely nothing for frame rates under Windows XP. It works best under Vista or Windows 7, providing alternative post-processing, under DX9 with either first or second TW titles. DX10, aka "advanced shaders" eliminates the need for this in SF2 with the latest patches. Of course, DX10 is only available with Vista or Win7. Now, back to the matters at hand. I have the same basic card, albeit an EVGA "superclocked" version. I find that my best performance under SF2 is arrived at with the following settings Driver Version 190.38 1680 x 1050 res (native to my monitor) 4X MS AA Gamma correction 8X Aniso V-Sync on High Quality Texture Filtering Triliniear Optimization Aniso Sample Optimization Negative LOD bias Prerender Limit set to 3 Force Mip Maps set to trilinear HDR enabled These settings will guarantee FPS between 44 and 60 with a decent CPU. FPS will be limited to your refresh rate, but as they say, "DILLIGAFF!" (you figure that last one out ) One more thing, there's nothing USEFUL to be gained by having your horizon distance (in-game, under options, graphics, customize) set to anything more than NORMAL. Setting beyond "normal", forces your system to use significantly more resources to render terrain tiles at a distance at which YOU CANNOT SEE THEM ANYWAY This has been an unofficial public disservice message from the staff here at CA
  22. File Name: SF2E A-10 series .ini tweaks File Submitter: Fubar512 File Submitted: 24 Jul 2009 File Updated: 25 Jul 2009 File Category: SF2 Series Add On Aircraft Firstly: This file does not contain an aircraft. Rather it's a tweak made to the existing Third Wire A-10A and A-10A_78, both of which are part of the default planeset that ships with Strike Fighters 2 Europe. I've uploaded it here, because there wasn't a subsection set up specifically for aircraft .ini tweaks Anyway...... SF2E A-10 Tweaks by Fubar512 Installation: Simply drop the aircraft data files into their matching-named folders. In Windows XP, the folder path would be: My Documents/ThirdWire/StrikeFighters2x/Objects/Aircraft. In Windows Vista or Windows 7, the path is: Documents/<User Name>/Saved Games/ThirdWire/StrikeFighters2x/Objects/Aircraft. Now that you have some idea as to SF2's file path, you can go onto the next step.....and that's to drop the included A10Engine.wav into the ThirdWire/StrikeFighters2x/Sounds folder. If you don't have one, don't panic, just create one, following the path statement above. To uninstall: just delete the A-10A_Data.ini, and the A-10A_78_Data.ini, and the game will revert to using the TW default. Click here to download this file
