  1. Oh, and before I forget, a value of "125%" in interperted as 91.5%, not 62.5
  2. The reason that most models (particularly ships), have issues with accuracy (at least in as far as it pertains to unguided ordnance), has to due with where the game engine calculates the trajectory of said projectiles from. Unless a weapon's pitch & yaw axis is located precisely on the ground object model's dead center position (coordinates 0,0,0), that ground object's guns will always have a built-in level of inaccuracy, as this is where the ballistic calculations for said model are computed from. In other words, let's say that the farther away a gun mount is from a ship model's dead center position, the more inaccurate its gunfire (from that particular mount) will be. This was something that TK revealed to Capun (and a few others) several years ago.
  3. It would also help if you fly during your mission during the time that said weapon became available....you're not (for example) going to see any 9Xs in 1989.
  4. Gregory, I managed to overcome that issue a few years back, by setting the release and booster delay times. Of course, this requires that one follow a narrowly defined weapons delivery profile when dropping a torp; Maintaining a set altitude & airspeed, as in real life.
  5. Well, I've been doing this for at least a week or two.... Actually, for seven years, so I have somewhat of a grasp as to what works and what doesn't. If you use a figure over 100 (let's say, 500), the engine interperts that as 50%. And while we're on the subject, there's a reason why some ground objects have an issue with accuracy, irregardless of either the gun data or object data values assigned to them. Maybe you can figure out why and tell us..... Wrench...if you provide the answer, I will drive out to shakey town and kill you....
  6. That's not realistic, nor is it workable, as 100% is the highest setting for that parameter. An accuracy value of 90% ensures that 90% of that weapon's rounds follow a "common" trajectory. If the trajectory is off, due to deficiencies in tracking, then what difference would a setting of 100% make, other then to make all your shells miss? The real answer is to set the range finder and ballistic computer values on those weapons that were historically radar-directed, to 9 or 10, and to then network them to a suitable fire-control radar (such as the SON-9A).
  7. More than likely, the offending model node (probably the fuselage) has its "ShowFromCockpit=" parameter set to "FALSE". Edit it so it reads "ShowFromCockpit=TRUE".
  8. In the bulletobject.ini, edit the following parameter: MinBulletMach=0.7 <-----edit this to 0.3
  9. Since the destroyed.lods share the same cat file with all the other files that are specific to that aircraft, I'd say it's safe to assume that they'd be linked to the aircraft folder. BTW....as long as you're using the default TW destroyed lods, why even bother extracting them?
  10. Lift lines would most likely require a new cockpit .lod for each aircraft, though it may be possible to add it using FastCargo's copilot method.
  11. Sometime after 1965-66, The USAF stopped sending F-100s into North Vietnam (other than those tasked as Wild Weasels and Misty FACs), due to their poor performance when stacked up against VPAF MiG-17s. I suggest that you stick to the F-4 and F-8 series, as they did much better againt the VPAF MiGs.
  12. AVATAR RULES !

Perhaps Joe McCarthy and the HUAC was on the right track in regards to Hollywood, back in the 1950s.
  13. It's Crusader's Birthday!

    Happy Birthday, Otto!
  14. Desperate Measures...

I have done work for OSHA and the IRS. I have access to the same type of machine that Jedi's probably referring to. It trashes everything, even the microcode ID in the drive's chips...and, it's also used by the NSA.
  15. And today is.....

    JSF_Aggie's birthday.....
  16. OK, if it's only hapening on that one terrain (The Range), you need to check the "Range_Types.ini" in the range terrain folder. See if all the entries have this parameter: TargetValue=XX (where XX is a numerical value)
  17. I've sent Julhelm a Beta FM, that needs some minor fine tuning. The only holdups are (as always), are those related to real life responsibilities and activities .
  18. You did not answer the most important question that Migbuster asked. Is this cropping up only in selectable (scripted) missions, or, is it also happening in randomly-generated single missions?
  19. Desperate Measures...

Not really true. I can easily render a drive 100% unreadable by anyone, without smashing it or burning it. Is your friend a betting man?
  20. There is no folder named "Mods" The ThirdWire folder under "Saved Games" (Vista/Win7). or "My Documents" (2000/XP) is what we refer to as the "Mods" folder.
  21. NOT TRUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! http://www.amazon.com/Associated-Electrics-Inc-Unobtanium-Shock/dp/B0006MZUC0/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=toys-and-games&qid=1262030771&sr=8-2
  22. Ba, Impervium is inferior to Unobtanium. Why not simply create an entire aircraft from Unobtanium? Spars, frames, bulkheads, skin, etc....
  23. That depends.... Several years ago, Dave (USAFMTL) and I were testing a new model under multiplayer. I had set the ECM value of that model to a grossly unrealistic level. It was so effective, that even when Dave switched to guns in LCOS mode, his pipper was jumping all over the combining glass. Needless to say, he could not hold a lock long enough to loose a sparrow at me. When I tried the same model against a ground unit (who's missiles had HOJ enabled) I had SAMs homing in on me even though I broke track. I shot a video of that, and it may still be on our server.
