  1. You need to extract the airfield lods, bitmaps, and .ini files from the series 1 terrain(s) that you wish to use, and move them to the terrain folder.
  2. The .ini and .lod files in SF2x are in unicode, and as such, will not work in series 1. While you can recompile the .ini files from unicode to ANSI, you cannot do the same for the .lod files. The forest and tree mod will work in SF2x.
  3. That appears to be an issue from a mod, and is not issue from a default install. You'll need to adjust the clipping distance in your flightengine.ini to compensate.
  4. Typical MiG-29A loadout, through the early 1990's was 4 x AA-8 (R-60), and 2 x AA-10 (R-27). To the best of my knowledge, AA-11 Archer was carried sometime after 1991-92. The MiG-29 never carried the Atoll (AA-2), as it was all but obsolete by the time the Fulcrum entered service.
  5. WOE problems

Please stop posting game-related questions in the pub. We have game related (including ThirdWire-specific) forums just for that purpose....post your questions there.
  6. Neat Website

Someone posted this site on another forum that I'm a member of. It's aerial views of sea life, etc, along the New England and Northeast coasts. Some of the shots are flat out amazing, including the attached image, of Bluefin Tuna swimming in "hunting" formation. Sights such as these, is the reason that I keep going back out "there": http://www.oceanaerials.com/index.html
  7. Today is......

    Ruggbutt's Birthday!!!!! Happy Birthday, Rugg...
  8. Simple solution: When you detect an airborne threat on your RWR, drop down to tree top level (and command your wingmen to follow suit by rejoining you), and head towards that threat. Let them waste their SAHMs and AHMs against the ground clutter while you're motoring around counting leaves, and when they're down to their last IRMs, pop up to engage 'em.
  9. Grandsons first deer

Congrats to you and your grandson, Dagger. And JediMaster, We do "hunt" for big game fish...as we often travel up to 120 nm offshore, seeking all the biological signs that game fish are present in the area, before we put any lines in the water. Here...fishie fishie fishie:
  10. You need modern container cranes for that terrain....
  11. No way.....this guy Rhuzyo's a troll and a turd from Nebraska. Spiff is a solid citizen.
  12. You are seeing 'Desert3', and selecting it from the drop down menu, right?
  13. Life - What Makes You Happy?

Being over 100 nautical miles offshore, and sharing the experience with friends.... The experience of having several hundred pounds of angry Marlin or Tuna smacking a lure trolled right in the prop wash, and watching it rip hundreds of yards of line off a reel, in an insane dash for the horizon... Sunrise and sunset at sea.... Running at night on flat-calm seas under a stary sky, seeing the stars above reflected on the ocean's surface, so one cannot tell where the earth ends, and the sky begins.... Feeling the hairs stand up on the back of one's neck, when a huge swordfish begins slowly moving off with a bait drifted several hundred feet below, at the very edge of the abyss, in the dark hours before dawn.... Running before angry seas and howling winds, making it safely back to port, and knowing that you've cheated the reaper, yet again...
  14. Well, the issue is that in testing (and yes, have been on Beta teams before, and have even beta-tested WoE for TW), the software devs understandbly ask that you initially install their product "clean", with no merging or mods....that's how this slipped through. AS TW uses the same beta team for all their releases, when the time comes to test the "merged" feature of the current beta, one can easily see that the team members probably have the entire title-set (SF2, SF2V, SF2E) installed from previous tests. So, it's rather obvious how something like this can slip by.
  15. Whaaaaambulance summoned, and on its way....
  16. Let see if I've got this right.... TK admitted that there was an issue only when merging title 2 and title 3, stated that he'd fix it in the next patch (with the emphasis on HE, there is no team at ThirWire), and you're singling him out for poor QC? How long have you been simming/gaming? Falcon 4.0 (large team effort); released in 1998, all but unplayable until the community stepped in. MiG Alley (team effort); released 1999, buggy, took two patches to fix it, still buggy in multiplayer LOMAC, (large team effort), memory leaks, etc. Wasn't really fixed until they released Flaming Cliffs. Now, I'm not putting down the aforementioned sims, nor their developers. I've just used them as examples, to illustrate my point... And that is, that even a team of devs working with a generous budget, still won't guarantee that a sim (or an app, or even an operating system) will be totally free of bugs. Come to think of it, one has to look no further than Micro$oft
  17. MASSIVE, Massive Dust Storm...

    And as the dust clears......
  18. MASSIVE, Massive Dust Storm...

All that was needed, was Mel Gibson appearing out of the cloud, driving a sand-blasted, black 1973 Ford Falcon XB, with a blown 351 Cleveland jutting out from it's hood.
  19. An interesting account of a pair of boat builders really showing faith in their product, a 21' foot (6.5 meter) outboard powered 'flats" boat. A flats boat, is designed for shallow water operation in and around coastal flats, such as those on the Gulf-side of the Florida Keys. They're not designed for blue-water fishing, having low freeboard (hull-sides), and a sporting a low-profile bow, not the ideal setup for cutting through tall waves and providing lift when going into steep wave-faces. They started out in Florida, ran up the east of North America, traveled east from Labrador, and eventually reached Germany, with stops in Greenland, Iceland, the Faroes, the UK, and then across the North Sea, and onto the Continent. http://www.boattest.com/Resources/view_news.aspx?NewsID=3757
  20. 21 foot (6.5 meter) outboard crosses Atlantic

Oooops! Forget to add that the intent of the trip, was to raise money for wounded veterans More reading: http://www.crosstheatlantic.com/index.html
  21. Download and install the latest DX user runtime from Microsoft, and that should fix your problem: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=2DA43D38-DB71-4C1B-BC6A-9B6652CD92A3&displaylang=en
  22. I'm closing this thread, as part of our zero-tolerence policy on piracy.
  23. What format (mono or stereo) are the offending sound files encoded in? TW sims can only utilize mono....stereo will not work.
