  1. A high speed stall is when your pitch surfaces, even at maximum deflection, cannot overcome the aircraft's inertia at a high airspeed, usually while in a dive at too low an altitude to pull out from. This brings about two interesting effects: First, the high speed stall. Second, a deep, smoking, hole in the ground. Hope this clarifies things for you
  2. Some of the later guns have a self-clearing capability.
  3. Sounds up to 44100 Hz work fine....as long as your sound card can process them.
  4. Been there, done that (like 3-4 years ago), check the gallery for the vids.
  5. In this series, normal maps only work when used in conjunction with material shaders. AFAIK, there's presently no coding in the aircraftobject.ini (or in the environment and terrain engines) for material shaders, outside of effects.
  6. Fox Three! AIM-54C on its way to a distant intercept, via way of the stratosphere.
  7. Star Trek Fans

You may enjoy this, it's a bitty laggy on start up, but smoothes out once they determine your bandwidth: http://scifi.dragonfly.com/stp2/
  8. Don't play on the highway

Don't play on the roads, or the killer cars will get you:
  9. Getting it to work is easy, as it's been done before (been there, done that, have the bags under my eyes to prove it). Getting it into an already finished 'pit, especially this one, where the original developer has lost the max file in a disk crash, is a horse of a different color. The copilot method is probably the only way to go.
  10. Yes, create a separate lod for it, and try adding it using FC's 'copilot" method.
  11. Wow! A buff flying over Tralfamadore. Billy Pilgrim (and Kurt Vonnegut) would be proud!
  12. SumnerFram2 and CVA-63 are both WoV and SF2V ground objects, so you'll have to purchase either of those titles in order to obtain those two ships.
  13. EricGen's Nike should work in all TW titles.
  14. In a word, no. Limit the yaw to 30/-30 You have it set at 90/-90. That's why you're getting almost every launcher salvoing at once. Also, erase that silly range finder and ballistic computer line, while you're at it.
  15. Simple fix: YawLimited=TRUE MinYaw=-30 MaxYaw=30
  16. There were a few cases where 100 and 130 mm weapons were set up in caves on some of the karst ridges overlooking the trail.
  17. The end is near

When I turned thirty, I saw it as the end of life....I went out with a few friends, got gloriously drunk, howled at the moon (etc. etc. etc.), and.........everything was fine the nest day. In fact, my 30th year was a blast. I went through the same thing when I hit 40....and my 40's were a great decade. By the time you hit your 50th birthday, you'll be an old hand at this, and you'll undoubtedly take all the (so-called) negative aspects of hitting that august number, with a grain of salt. Guess what? Everything will be fine, and in many respects, you may find yourself a whole lot better off than you were just a few few decades before. I know I did....
  18. As there is no "trigger event" coded into the series, getting a true sonic-boom sound effect (or a transonic vapor effect) is for all practical purposes, a no go. Three years ago, I mixed a sonic boom sound that worked in conjunction with a modified (extended) Doppler entry in the flightengine and soundlist.ini files. A few of you may remember the movie file I uploaded (it should still be on our server). The drawback to it was, of course that it sounded corny at any speed above or below the transonic regions, and you could still "hear"as an aircraft was approaching you at Mach 1+. Until such time as TK adds the necessary parameters into the game engine, this is pretty much just for grins and giggles.
  19. You forget to add the effect line to the rocket's weapondata.ini.
  20. Short of creating sun (and moon) tgas that are specifically tailored to that res, no.
  21. Those files are written for shader model 4.0, and make specific callouts to parameters contained within SF2 and SF2V's DisplayManagerDX10.dll file. Short answer is, no, they won't work in earlier titles.
  22. Kev, the B-61 is D.A.Y (dial a yield), therefore, it's not a simple atomic device, but a hydrogen bomb. True, fission is used in its primary, but overall, it's still considered a fusion weapon.
  23. Roughly put, Fission = A-Bomb, Fusion=H-bomb. A-bombs went out of use ( at least in the US and the Soviet Union) by the mid-1950s.
  24. Really? I must have gotten lucky, as every third-party 'pit (and aircraft) that I've installed in SF2 works quite well, thank you.....
