  1. Are you serious? All models are interchangeable between all Third Wire titles, as long as the title itself is patched up to date.
  2. The MiG-17's cockpit was a WIP some time ago. Unfortunately, the dev who was working on it dropped off the radar screen over a year ago. In as far as a more realistic FM for the '17F, there is one, and it's hosted here. You'll just have to find it
  3. Target Info

IFF works, as do directional indicators for both enemy and friendly aircarft icons. Try the Su-27.
  4. I'm surprised that no one mentioned the TFX, which was essentially a navalized F-111.
  5. WoV MiG Cap 1966

A vid I made some time ago, and forgot about. It's a scripted MiG-CAP mission for WoV, and offers a sneak peak at a few ideas that I'm still working on.
  6. A2A refueling is not yet a default, or working feature of any of the SF-based sims. The YAP series for WoV has a "simulated" air to air refueling mission. If you have WoV, and want to fly a strike mission off a carrier, try this: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autom...;showfile=1744#
  7. There is an entry available for it in the weapondata.ini (Inflight sound name), but it has not worked since the initial release of the series. The easiest way to prove to yourself that it works (or more precisely, that it doesn't), is to assign the afterburner.wav to it that event, using the weapon editor.
  8. Not to my knowledge, but I'll defer to Ghostrider, who'll more than likely set the record straight as soon as he sees this post
  9. Don't feel bad, my friend. I've been involved with this series for over four years, and as recently as last Summer, I made that very same mistake while testing a Soviet-bloc strike aircraft
  10. Just set the enemy skill level to "easy"
  11. You can't "suppress" air defenses, if they don't exist, can you? You need to install fixed SAM sites for the NATO side. I've positioned hawk batteries around several military and civilian areas in West Germany (GermanyCE terrain), just for that purpose. Give me a while and I'll post the coordinates and necessary edits to keep the Hawks from salvoing all at once.
  12. Here's an example. using the aforementioned MiG-29A as a test bed. Vmax at sea level is Mach 1.03 And Vmax with the same model at altitude is Mach 2.3

  15. The mach level is an absolute. The real limiting factor in most cases, is the model's speed at sea level. We try to set that based on whatever real life data we can find. The figure is in Meters/Second. For example, the MiG-29A should have a max speed at sea level of 333.3 m/sec, or 1200 kph. 333.3 meters p/sec at sea level, will translate to over mach 2.3 at high altitude, due to reduced air density.
  16. Let's clarify this, first. You have WoV (as that's what you've stated in the post title), yet you need a file from the WoE GermanyCE terrain folder? Do you have a copy of WOE? If so, then rename your existing WOE folder to something like 'WoE2", reinstall WoE, update it, and then drag any and all mods over from the WoE2 folder. Stating that you're "too lazy" to do anything isn't going to encourage anyone to offer any assistance. I know that I wouldn't help in such a case, just on general principles,
  17. The Gsh-301 Cannon's (Gsh) sound effect, has been around since the intro of the MiG-29A model, in September of 2004.
  18. This is what happens when developers take their time to finish a model, and release it as a complete model with its very own cockpit and unique avionics.
  19. Well, Darrin, the F-104G did not see action in Vietnam, but the 'C model did. That being said, you can download the F-104C and matching SEA camo pattern textures here, at Comabt Ace. There is also a SEA pattern texture available for the 'G model, if you still want to use it .
  20. It will definietely work in all 3 Thirdwire jet sims (SF, WoV, and WoE), as long as they are patched up to date, which is a requirement in order to support the Su-27's avionics.
  21. Ahhh...didn't Crusader say 'IR or AHM 2.75 FFARs"? He made no mention of AIM-9s or AIM-120s or AIM-7s. In other words, modify the FFARs (using the weapon editor), eqiuipping them with the aforementioned seeker type(s).
  22. Perhaps I did not make it clear enough. Stealth, which is what the RCSModifier parameter invokes, has been broken since the last patch series. The F-22A's flight model is complete, and works with tv nozzles. I will not have anything to do with an FM that's been compromised to "mimic" the effects of tv, as this would render it woefully inaccurate. Also, using an already "bad" FM on another aircraft would simply result in two "bad" aircraft. Not that I'm taking a cheap shot at the dev who penned it up, as I've been there, and done that myself. It's all part of the learning curve, and it was his first model. FYI, the source file for the F-22A has already been given to another modeler who will finish it.
  23. AFAIK, no RWR is capable of indicating an IR missile in flight. How could it? IR is passive. In real life, there is some capabilty to indicate a missile launch (flash detection), but it would not show anything once the missile has burned out its booster and gone into a ballistic mode. It seems as if the issue here is lack of familiarity with the system. The RWR indicates that an emitter has achieved targetting lock on your aircraft. The position of the RADAR emitter should provide one with a general idea of a missile's bearing, as the emitter is a point source. Also, Active Homing missiles (Phoenix, AMRAAM, some R-27 variants, and the R-77) will show up on the display as point sources when they go active. Perhaps someone with real life experience (Typhoid or Ezlead) will chime in and settle this.
  24. Well, if some experienced modeler with access to 3DSMax is willing to shell out the money for one, and can get all the animations correct (missile bay doors, thrust vectoring nozzles, etc.) , I'm sure that one of the FM gurus would be more than happy to pen up a flight model for it. However, stealth and pitch-linked TV is currently porked, so it would be somewhat pointless, as it would simply be just another aircraft without the benefit of stealth or tv nozzles. TK has indicated that he would eventually repair stealth, and I've contacted him regarding the pitch axis-linked tv issue, as well.
  25. Yes it is, and here it is, in all its low-rez glory. As you can see, the 3D model is not finished.
