  1. File Name: Megapack1B File Submitter: Fubar512 File Submitted: 26 May 2005 File Category: SF Sound Mods After having released several sound packs and effects separately over the last two years, I've decided to combine everything into one, large package, allowing the user to pick and choose which sounds and which effects they wish to use, and to have the ability to integrate it with sounds and effects released by other modders. I've also provided a few ground objects to shoot at, which can also defend themselves to the fullest extant of their (sometimes limited) capabilities. I will provide instructions so that you can install all effects, sounds, and models. Credits: Chaparral, M-42 Duster, KS-19, and the KS-30 models are courtesy of Pasko. Chaparral camo skin is by Badger343rd. The M1939 is an adaptation of Kesselbrut's 40mm Bofors model. The KS-12 85MM AAA is an adaptation of the original SF/WoV KS-19 100MM AAA model by Third Wire. The SAM airburst effect is courtesy of PistolPete, as are the Ship and Tanker Explosion effects. The original idea for the Uber AI mod came from Galanti, over two years ago. I've simply updated it to utilize parameters that have been added since then. Click here to download this file
  2. File Name: 57mm Flak Effect File Submitter: Fubar512 File Submitted: 8 May 2005 File Category: SF Sound Mods This effect attempts to faithfully reproduce the smaller, "basketball" sized flak bursts created by Soviet-issue 37mm and 57mm Anti Aircraft guns, as well as associating a unique sound event with the effect. 3. File Name: Uber AI Mod, ver 1.5 File Submitter: Fubar512 File Submitted: 5 May 2005 File Category: SF Object Mods An update to the original Uber AI aircraftobject.ini file, this version adds several refinements, and was tested with 3rd party A/C to ensure compatibility when said aircraft were under AI control. Even a bomb-laden F-100D can make it off the ground now...most of the time! :) *NOTE* I recommend setting F-100D and F-105D air base size to "large", as the F-100D needed over 5000 ft for landing in RL, and the '105D operated mainly out of large bases in the SEA theater. Install it into your WoV/SFP1 Objects folder. Click here to download this file
  4. File Name: UBER AI Mod File Submitter: Fubar512 File Submitted: 27 Apr 2005 File Category: SF Object Mods An edited AircraftObjects.ini file, that enhances the dogfight AI, allowing it to: A: Fight in the vertical plane B: Improve AI gun accuracy C: Make all levels of AI much more aggressive. To install: Simply extract the contents of the UBER AI zip file (aircraftobject.ini) into your Strike Fighters or WoV "Objects" folder. If you do not like the results, simply delete the aircraftobject.ini file from your Objects folder, and the sim will revert to its original settings. Click here to download this file
  5. File Name: Improved MiG-21 FMs File Submitter: Fubar512 File Submitted: 10 Apr 2005 File Updated: 6 Dec 2006 File Category: Mig-21 Improved MiG-21 flight models for both SF & WoV. Covers all default MiG-21 Variants. UPDATED TO VERSION 2 on 4/11/2005 Click here to download this file
  6. File Name: Fubar512 File Submitter: Fubar512 File Submitted: 5 Apr 2005 File Category: SF Add-On Aircraft Flyable B-52D (WoV Only). A flyable B-52D for WoV, with all necessary files included. Installs into your existing folders, and requires files/features that are found only in WoV (sorry SFP1 users). Click here to download this file
  7. File Name: The Higbee Incident File Submitter: Fubar512 File Submitted: 6 Apr 2005 File Category: SF Missions/Campaigns A mission for Wings over Vietnam that simulates the VPAF's attack on the destroyer USS Higbee in April of 1972. Comes complete with a new data.ini for WoV's destroyer model that features radar-directed multipurpose guns, and sound effects. NOTE: Requires a flyable MiG-17F Click here to download this file
  8. File Name: VF-1_Late_F-14A File Submitter: Fubar512 File Submitted: 27 Dec 2004 File Updated: 21 May 2005 File Category: SF F-14 Skins This texture set represents an F-14A from VF-1, circa late 1970's, early 1980's. It's a quick and dirty repaint in MS Paint (of all things!), of BPAO's excellent F-14A. Click here to download this file
  9. File Name: MiG RWR Sounds File Submitter: Fubar512 File Submitted: 12 Dec 2004 File Category: SF Sound Mods Unique RWR (RADAR Warning Receiver) sounds for use on any Soviet aircraft in SFP1 or WoV. Click here to download this file
  10. Bulldog, I've just responded to a similar query on another site, so if you don't mind, I'll simply recycle my post... Installing the carrier is only half the battle as you can only take off and land from a carrier in either a campaign or a scripted mission, either of which must be written to include the carrier. Unfortunately carriers aren't available in randomly-generated missions (at least, not yet )
  11. The screenies posted by the reviewer appear to have been taken with hardware from 1999.
  12. Yes there is...but it requires that you tap the key "]" key multiple times to increase the ripple quantity. Once that's set, a single button press will pickle your entire bomb load (assuming they're all the of the same type).
  13. Interesting debate. I have something to offer....or, to help stir the pot further Scroll down to the bottom of the linked page, and read about the ordeal that the USS Independence "survived". http://www.navsource.org/archives/02/22.htm A ship can withstand a terrible amount of damage without sinking, that is, as long as its structural integrity remains sound. I recall the USS Nevada serving as ground zero for one of the tests, and surviving. She was towed back to Hawaii, examined, and later sunk by gunfire. http://www.navsource.org/archives/01/36.htm
  14. It's a nice model by Marcello that's unfortunately not available yet. There are still a few details on it that need ironing out in order for it to be released.
  15. Yes it does. The desert terrain is the default terrainset for all versions of SF:P1.
  16. Try adding 10 until you get the results you desire (Cmdc=0.015, =0.025, etc.)
  17. Badlands

  18. Sounds as if the flaps are too effective in the pitch axis. Back up your original F-15A_Data.ini, and try this value under flaps (remember to adjust both sides) Cmdc=0.005<----replace the original Cmdc value with this one.
  19. Is it Mars, or is it SF's desert terrain with no fog and a 238 km horizon distance?
  20. Applying these settings to your flightengine.ini should correct the problem [GraphicsSettings] ZBufferDepth=24 MaxVertexCount=8192 MaxIndexCount=16384 MaxTextureCount=8192 MaxModelType=2048 MaxMeshPerScene=1024 MaxModelPerScene=2048 MaxLightPerScene=512 AspectRatio=1.333333 MinPixelSize=1.0
  21. The only way to eliminate that effect is to edit the following value in the flightengine.ini file: [HighDetailOption] HorizonDistance=X Changing HorizonDistance to 238000.0 will give you a clear 238 KM horizon, about right for SF's average cruising altitude, that is, assuming one were flying in a vacuum . Oh, and you'd have to play with the sky panel and horizon color entries in the environmentsystem.ini to correct the "deep blue sky to the horizon" effect that would result from such a high horizon distance.
  22. Flaps work by essentially: 1) increasing lift 2) forcing the nose down Are you taking off on auto or manually? Are you retracting the flaps and gear as you pass 180 KIAS?
  23. No offense, but even no aircraft ever built can attain Mach 2.35 at sea level. The record at 300 meters (about 900 feet) was held by an F-4 Phantom (named "Sageburner") for over 16 years, from 1961 until 1977. And that was 902 MPH, or 785 KIAS (1,452 kph). As incredible as it may seem, the current record is a scant 85 knots faster.
  24. OK, This is will be first and last time that I will post this. Following JSF_Aggies instructions to the letter (his instructions for adding terrains are posted on the knowledge base here at CombatACE), I then copied the Desert Folder from SFP1 into WoE, minus the Desert.Cat. Next, I installed Pollock's upgraded Desert Tiles (a must, IMNSHO). I did NOTHING else out of the ordinary, other then installing my concrete desert runway tiles That means NO airfiled.inis were carried over. I then edited the Desert.ini file by adding the following line: [Terrain] CatFile=..\GermanyCE\GermanyCE.cat Next. I started WoE and verified that the terrain was available: Then I started a mission and....OMG, how can this be....it actually works!!!!! (note green Euro-pattern tents from WoE in the second and third images) This also means that all campaigns will work ACROSS THE BOARD with nothing more than a few judicious edits and the installation of the necessary objects and aircraft.
