  1. In that case, the "CatLauchTime" setting in the carrier's data.ini is set too low. It should be adjusted so that you're traveling about 170 knots at the end of the cat shot.
  2. The developer, TK, calls this a "sim-lite" so, in keeping with his philosphy, most of the Flight Models that come with the game are simplefied to some degree. There are a few third-party models that are fairly realistic to a point, and that is, up until they depart. The game engine used to allow one to accurately model post-stall behavior, but some time ago, the developer chose to make global changes that effects all models, and it's now much harder to "individualize" how a given model departs (they all spin now, whereas some types should roll out, plow to the outside of a turn, etc.).
  3. Sorry, but writing a realistic flight model can take weeks, if not months, and explaining how to do so is well beyond what I would consider providing reasonable assistance. It would take an entire thread just on that one subject. Chances are that the model that you're attempting to use isn't even properly formatted for SF2, let alone the 3/2012 patch.
  4. Sorry, but the fact that you're seeing shader-driven water proves that you're running in DX10. Next time, use a better model and you'll notice the difference.
  5. Because it's not been upgraded to March 2012 standards.
  6. Most likely because you may not be placing those files where they belong. Take some time and read through the SF2 knowledge base, so that you gain an understanding of its folder and file structure. There's also no need to extract everything, as there are probably over 10 GB worth of files compressed into those catalog files!
  7. The animation ID does not necessarily correlate to the number key, as it can be set to whichever one you want, within the data.ini.
  8. 1? It's the animation number that the developer assigned to the model, for folding wings. It does, As you've noticed, vary by the model.
  9. Lemme see, this can't be that hard..... Forger Hover Test.wmv
  10. And to think that "Ahnold" made this look so damned easy in True Lies....

    Rog the Dodge...
  12. The answer's in the SF2 knowlege base. You must edit the start and end dates in the options.ini file, in order to allow missions within the desired date range. Otherwise, you'll be limited the title's default years.
  13. Paint.net is set to use the proper 32-bit alpha channels in TGA files, by default. And, best of all, it's free
  14. If you meant a "Shrike" missile, then it requires no additional guidance, other than pointing the nose of your aircraft at any ground-based radar sources (preferably a SAM radar) that are within range. BTW, Shrikes, Standard ARMs (etc), are referred to as ARMs, or Anti-Radiation Missiles. As Cocas stated, there is no provision for locking up ground targets on radar. Also, there is no key that locks up a target for an ARM. It will guide to its radar source of choice, irregardless of what key you may decide to push.
  15. OMG!

It's Wrench's birthday!!!! (at least it is, somwehere on the other side of the planet) Where's Baghdad Bob when you need him? Happy Birthday Kevin!
  16. Absolutely not. You're confusing the term "reverse-engineered" in a way that implies that another such tool was already in existence. Skypat's CAT extraction tool was the only game in town for years. Besides, game and sim enthusiasts have been creating unofficial utilities for a looooong time. Go to any Jane's, Eagle Dynamics, (etc.) fan-site, and chances are that you'll find unofficial extraction tools and other utilities for just about all of their titles.
  17. BTW, Wrench told me that he encountered a carrier's escorts merrily traipsing through the "jungles" of Great Exuma Cay, on the OTC map
  18. Well, look at the bright side. Unlike the "anti-landyacht" missions, at least CAS didn't have you searching for amphibious T-72s...
  19. OMG!

As I mentioned in the first post, it is tomorrow, somewhere on the planet! (blame ICQ)
