  1. Specs Dave, Specs. What's the native resolution of the three monitors you're using it with?
  2. Read the knowledge base regarding service dates for the game, terrains, and aircraft. Chances are that a simple options.ini edit will resolve it.
  3. Transonic buffet. The solution to that is quite simple. Either fly below, or above that speed range.
  4. Very nice, Stary. Amazing, even, when one considers what goes into creating a cockpit from scratch
  5. The importance of a clean machine (internally!)

Nothing beats an electric leaf-blower for blasting dust out of those hard to reach places
  6. There are several reasons why it may not work. For example; Is the gun properly listed in the model's data.ini? Once as a system name or component name, under say, the fuselage section on the data.ini, and then once again as under that system name in its own section?
  7. I'd say the scope of the title is more likely to be early 70s to mid-80s, but being a TW sim, we can of course adjust those dates to suit whatever timeframe we want (once we get our grubby hands on it, that is). The Ark Royal, the Foch, limitless possiblilities....
  8. What OS are you using? Check the Movies tab in FRAPS, and make sure that you have "stereo" checked under "Sound Capture Settings". If that's checked and it doesn't work, try "Multichannel"
  9. No, but there's always FC's ruler.... http://combatace.com/files/file/6314-ruler-tool-for-the-thirdwire-sims/
  10. Doesnt matter. Once you've created bumpmaps for a given model, anybody can edit them using the texture maps as a template
  11. In the same manner that it relates to a thrown spear, an arrow shot from a bow, or a bullet. It's the point at which the maximum aerodynamic lift is achieved by a given body. Exceeding this, creates drag in excess of the lift generated by that body. So, in effect, when a missile maneuvers to intercept a target, every course correction results in a loss of energy. If the course correction is extreme enough, and the missile is "coasting" at that point, one can easily see how this value effects it.
  12. All fixed slewable multiple launchers need to have yaw limits set, according to how they're deployed. If they're using the standard Soviet BLOC 6 x 1 formation (6 evenly-spaced launchers arrayed around one radar in the center), they need to be setup with a 60-degree yaw limit. If it's 3 x 1, 120 degrees, etc. And that's the only way to prevent them from salvoing.
  13. I belive that he did so due to the impending release of the next title. I first noticed the behavior while working on Marcelo's Sea Flanker.
  14. All aircraft (TW and 3rd party) are effected to some extent or another. It's global, and I'm of the opinion that this behaviour is there by intent.
  15. You need to create a duplicate of that entire texture, name it "anniversary" (or something like that), and then apply this date format, as outlined here: http://combatace.com/topic/70621-new-skin-start-end-years/page__view__findpost__p__552306
  16. It's easy, just set the defaults in whatever paint program you're using, to 32-bit alpha. I have paint.net setup so when I select and "erase" a background, then save the file as a .tga, it defaults to a 32-bit tga and already has the proper alpha channel. 32bit_alpha.zip
  17. Follow the size format used by the default decals....judging by the image you've posted, your's are probably too big.
  18. Anyone know what these are?

I snapped this image while on vacation in Morehead City, NC, back in December of 2007. They wre deliverd by a team of sailors, and they spent a couple of days berthed at the Morehead City Yacht Basin. Are they some sort of SEAL assault boats?
  19. Anyone know what these are?

We were having glass and paint work work done on my boss's boat, so I spent a couple of weeks there, living aboard.
  20. VF-111 was deployed off the USS Carl Vinson on its world tour (circumnavigation) during the Autumn of 1983, so yes, they were technically in the Atlantic during the probable time frame of this next title.
  21. Yes, until someone goes off looking for a non-existant file Sorry, two decades providing tech support tends to make one a nitpicker.
