I have fractured my left ankle twice since I was 16. The first time was during varsity football practice, and the most recent one was stepping onto a friend's boat and right onto a spare propeller shaft that we had lashed to the deck. Almost 42 years after the first incident, and it still bothers me, especially during the Winter. I can "feel" a storm coming almost a full day before it arrives. Anyway, just follow the doctor's advice, and get better soon!

LOL, no. In fact, the captain went on to mention that his co-pilot was soon due for promotion to captain.
-
I recall once hearing an announcement after we had landed at Houston Hobby airport, crediting the co-pilot with a smooth landing. The pilot went on to say "That's really unusual for a former Naval aviator."

Mention the name Lamborghini, and the first thing that may come to mind is an Aventador, or a Mulcielago, or a Countach. If you're approaching my age, you may possibly even visualize a Miura. But to me, this is the one that personifies Ferruccio Lamborghini's vision of a fast, comfortable, grand touring car. The Espada. I'll take mine in dark metallic blue Here's Jay Leno's take on the Espada:

I am glad that you brought the term "sports car" into the thread. The Espada, and its ilk, are not sports cars. They are true GT (Grand Touring) cars, Here's what the Wikipedia has to say about it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_tourer

Ah, no. If you think that's the case, you seriously need to have your eyes checked.
-
That business is what made Ferruccio Lamborghini's fortune. He certainly did not do well (financially) building automobiles.

Strike Fighters 2 simulator?
Fubar512 replied to Sabro's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Well then, perhaps you can start by defining precisely what it is that you are looking for. I have also have IL-2 1946, and I find that SF2's jet aircraft flight dynamics are superior. -
Strike Fighters 2 simulator?
Fubar512 replied to Sabro's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Under options, game play, set the default view point to "Cockpit", the display unit to "Use Default Unit based on aircraft type". set the Enemy skill level to either medium or hard, and the sim difficulty to hard. Note that you will still have the speed/altitude/heading info on the L/H mini HUD. You can hide this with an .ini mod if you wish. -
I am sure that this is not staged, as the original "Hemi Under Glass" is probably worth close to $1 million US. Of course, Jay was his jovial self afterwards...

Hovercraft full of eels = mobile bait storage vessel = modern day alchemy. I will show you how to convert live eels into striped bass.

My attorney friend Ron would love to see the "leaked footage of the cruise missile hitting the pentagon", especially since he was passing by the Pentagon (stuck in traffic, actually) on his way to work and SAW the airliner that hit it, flying "low enough for someone to have hit it with a baseball without too much effort". He generally has some rather unflattering comments for people who spew conspiracy theory nonsense, as well.

Weapons editor Not working properly
Fubar512 replied to DEVIL11's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
We all learned a long time ago NOT to use the weapons editor in SF2, as it generally doesn't work well, and more often than not makes a mess of things. If you're adding a third-party weapon, do so by placing it in its own named folder under OBJECTS/WEAPONS. -
Turbo boost sacrifices the number of cores available in order to achieve it's maximum clock speed. So, in a title that utilizes all four cores (ie, FSX), you may only be offering up two cores out of your i7's physical cores under heavy demand. Some overclockers get around this by locking all four cores to whatever maximum their CPUs and cooling solutions allow. http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/forced-induction-intel-turbo-boost-works-technology-explained/

It was from March 17 of 1979, and it was freaking hilarious! http://snlarchives.net/Commercials/?197903173 The Navy Adventure [ open on Navy port ] Announcer: Port of call, Bayonne, New Jersey. [ Navy men are seen doing laundry ] The Navy Adventure. [ as the background music plays, scenes show sailors performing various activities: mopping a floor, peeling potatoes, cooking and serving cafeteria food, scrubbing toilets, chipping paint off of an old bulkhead, fastening chains on a ship, tarring a deck, and sitting in a room watching TV ] The Navy. See your local recruiter or call toll free. [ final image shows phone number 311-555-5000 against a man with a mop and bucket - the motto is also shown ] It's not just a job, it's $96.78 a week.

Any modders available to make a few river tiles?
Fubar512 replied to Spudknocker's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
IIRC, Wrench wrote a rather detailed "how to" post on that very subject, some time ago. I can't recall if it on was a thread he started, or if it was a reply to on someone else's thread. Try using the search feature, and look up "river tiles". -
So, which system did you wind up with?

kind of a "techie" question
Fubar512 replied to savagkc's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Really? I have to try this on my laptop at work. Since I work the night shift, it's not like I'd be bothering anyone :D -

Digital is digital, whether it's HDMI, Display port, or DVI. IIRC, HDMI is the only one that carries sound channels. -
Fire fighting Intruder Mod request
Fubar512 replied to dannavy85's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
For what series? Also, the pub is not the place to make requests or to ask questions about a specific game. We have separate forums just for that purpose. -
Need a couple of simple tree 3d models.
Fubar512 replied to Stratos's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
If I am not mistaken, the game engine limits us to a total of 255 "models" being visible at any one time. And that number would include any combination of aircraft, ground objects, and now trees, combined. Not a smart plan. -
How do i edit lod
Fubar512 replied to hi ho silver's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
The spacing needs to be maintained in front of and behind the statement. Otherwise, you can name the texture "Rat-Droppings.JPG" and it will still work
