  1. Happy Birthday

Bend any good airplanes, lately? Happy Birthday, slacker!
  2. An untold story of 9-11

A friend emailed this link to me, just thought I'd share it:
  3. Jets in the same theatre

No, it has to do with the physical terrain itself, which virtually comprises a world of its own.
  4. Is now available, via auto-updater. It should be availbale as a downloadable patch at TW's site, soon.
  5. Worthier? That's not exactly an accurate statement, Michael. The original R-3 was such an exact copy of the '9B, that it has been said that the Soviets even imitated the (soldered) corporate logos on the circuit boards, in the belief that they were duplicating a necessary part of the circuit! It was also said that one could swap boards and tubes between both missiles, without effecting the performance of either.
  6. I assume the weapons that are vexing you are the versions mounted on ground objects? Under the gun entry in the object's data.ini there will be (or should be) a line for "burst length", with a variable value. For example: [GunBarrel1] SystemType=GUN GunTypeName=40MM_L60 MuzzlePosition=0.18,3.52,2.70 MaxAmmo=240 TracerLoading=1 BurstAmount=4 EjectShells=FALSE
  7. Simple answer: ROF (Rate Of Fire), and burst length. If the sound file is too long (even echos will effect that), it wont match the burst length, hence, part of the sound will be cut off.
  8. Fuel tanks positioned so that they wrap around jet engine(s), is a common design feature in real life.
  9. Happy Birthday wpnssgt

    Happy Birthday, Mike
  10. There is no "IFF module", transponder, etc, that one can add on either as a loadout, or, as an .ini edit. The game simply recognizes all friendly AC as being imbued with, well, "friendly" IFF....and all opponents as not. Besides, you specifically asked: So, I "specifically" answered
  11. The easiest way, is by using the Third Wire Weapon's Editor....
  12. SAHMs and AHMs can be set up with IFF discriminators.
  13. Actually there are two, 3rd party mission editors available for all SF1-based titles. They are Le Missioneur, and KMD (Kreelin's Mission Designer). Both are in our Download's section.
  14. Duh! Just realized that you were asking about ground targeting. The answer is no, currently, there's no way to designate any type of ground target via radar. The Maxvisible distance value in the target's data.ini is the only variable that one can play with that allows you to target a given object at range.
  15. 80 mile setting, A-6E. Note the ship target returns, low center: 10 mile setting:
  16. Ships show up for me in GM mode, Eric. In the avionics.ini for the aircraft in question, add these settings, if they're not already there: [RadarDisplay] ImageFadeTime=2.0 [RadarDisplayGround_Map] ImageSize=12.0 or whatever value suits your fancy
  17. Please tell us exactly what you did during the conversion process. You may have skipped one or more steps, making your issue all but impossible to diagnose without that information.
  18. Paint.net seamlessly performs the conversion from .tga to .dds, as simply as choosing to save a .tga to a .dds file, from it's dropdown menu.
  19. Stary, I'd say all those entries are meant for the "free action view" that's toggled when the player's aircraft is destroyed.
  20. Jets in the same theatre

The default FE terrain comprises a smaller "world", so there's less load on the CPU. However, SF2 is even faster, as it will utilize every core of a multicore CPU.
  21. Smooth move, Dave. Thanks to the pinned uploads, you've made it all but impossible for moderators to approve new uploads (as they are now buried behind all the pinned uploads). What will you do for an encore? Try gargling with peanut-butter?
  22. And before you dismiss the above as crude, vulgar, or lacking in sophistication, please keep in mind that when Ferruccio Lamborghini picked a name for his premier supercar back in 1971 (the prototype was first introduced to the public during the Geneva Auto Show that year) , he chose "Countach", which in the Modenese dialect means, roughly, "Da F&ck!"
  23. LOL....."DF" is a NYC, Brooklyn, and North Jersey way of expressing "WTF!" However, there are some actions that must be performed whilst expressing oneself in this manner. One must first stand with their legs roughly shoulder width apart, and begin with both arms hanging at one's sides. One then shrugs their shoulders rapidly and vigorously, while thrusting their forearms out and up-wards, simultaneously shouting "Da F&ck!" during the process. Failure to perform the maneuver in the above manner immediately and indelibly marks one as an outsider, subjecting them to scorn, ridicule, and possibly expulsion from the greater NY-NJ area.
