Did forget to write it down, I did also exchanged the D3D8.DLL and did file try DX8 to DX9 wrapper from dgVoodoo, strangely I could now set in the D3D8.ini file the UseD3D9Ex= back to 1. Also I did disable the ingame AA like you need for SweetFX, also here no improvements.

I’m involved in this CFS3-project starting from OFF2 and did leave WoFF in favor of flying in VR. Because of VR, I went to BoX only the whole FC1-VR is very sterile, overpriced as it’s nothing more then a cheap RoF swapjob done by Uglymedia and now all the reading about the N28, this plane seems a bit of an disappointing. So I would like to go back to WoFF, I do miss the atmosphere of flying the MS-parasol at the mountains in Belfort region as an sample. Only one thing is keeping me away from BH&H2, =no VR I know in the past it was not possible to rendering 3D in VR, but we are now a couple of years later. Are there any possibilities to transfer this WoFF game to 3D VR, with payware like Vorpx? I would likely pay the VorpX or other software if it can generate the 3D in VR for BH&H2.

Did do the test, Reshade VR with Depth3D. Even did buy Steam VR desktop software but this Reshade road is going nowhere. This combination is only bring the flatscreen to you Headset. That movie screen effect is a bit annoying, it’s not real VR as you noticed in real VR flysims. I did try every combination like SteamVR or OpenXRToolkit. Did buy additional software besides VorpX, the Steam virtual desktop software. Tweaking lot of adjustments but I can not find the right and perfect settings. Right now VorpX is the best way for WoFF-VR, it is playable, only I know most VorpX users will still be very disappointed that the screen quality has a lot of problems caused by shimmering, blinking tree leaves and other graphical artifacts. Meantime I had contact to another YouTuber that had more a less the same problem, what you see on Youtube is btw not the VR Headset screen but the MEGA BETTER monitor screen. Maybe for the next Woff upgrade the shift to DX11 or 12 could solve this, if not, I do hope the OBD could do some optimizing to the actual shaders.

@Waggaz promised to @Gecko from the SimHQ forum, I have installed Reshade VR mod and trying to run WoFF into VR mode by using this software. It’s not the easiest way in comparison to VorpX, still no VR, but I do hope using Reshade can upgrade the eye-candy. @Gecko I do hope the right guy, how is the shaders upgrade project going on, can it be used in WoFF? https://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/4640618/improved-cfs3-shaders-wip#Post4640618 Have patience please, as I have a limited of spare time and I’m an noob when it becomes to software technology.

Well said, same to me, although I must admit here, that simracing in the interbellum period or right now I’m driving the first official Grand prix F1 championship (1950) is also very breathtaking in VR mode and my main game. No electronic correction aid while driving these beautiful cars on dangerous circuits. Here btw a nice video about Tim Birkin an former WW1 pilot. Typical British attitude towards racing in the interbellum and a very good acting by Rowan Atkinson.- 8 replies

While I’m waiting for @Waggaz screenshots of Nvidia CP, I have been tweaking the CP to what is now acceptable. I have reduced the shimmer and the moving leaves of the trees still exist, but I think it’s a great base to tweak further, only now not stationary at the field comparing the eye candy, but FPS optimization at a benchmarking flight.

@Waggaz could you publish your Nvidia overall and CFS.exe game specific settings. Still having the blinking halo effect around the trees, think I must have one adjustment that’s conflicting.

There’s two D3D8.ini files one in a shader folder and one in the main directory. Change both D3D8.ini files. The default view is not optimal but according to the SimHQ and CAF this can be manually be changed. Do a search. I must admit, because of the strange blinking effects around the shape of the trees I did stop in playing this game, I could not find the solution.

Let you all know: BH&H2 is now running in VorpX-VR and because I can run without the hybrid mode (using UE files) also at a great level of eye candy. For next week; trying to get the darkish environment more lighter, need to change the Pilots seat position/FOV/zoom and eliminate the blinking leaves on trees.

Not needed as I do have UE on my 4Gb back up external HD. Will continue later and keep you informed, but only if wanted.

I’m afraid the VorpX profile maker has it right, as it seems VorpX can not work with the BH&H2 newest DX9. Guess that could be the same reason why the @oolong could not run WOTR and @Waggaz had the same VR problems with BH&H2. Read my posting at SimH about the DX9, for further info. Any member who can sent me the specific WoFF-UE d3d8.dll and d3d8.ini files?

As being very skeptical on VR first, I can tell you once you try it and your sold. After a very disappointing cheap swap job from Uglymedia trying to turn in RoF into IL2 franchise and let costumers pay two times the full price, without real improvements. I decided after nearly 25y (Redbaron) to leave the whole WW1 combat flysims world, but still always with the immersive Woff-VR in my mind. Did read the few available small reviews on the combination WoFF and VR, always new members that after a couple of weeks suddenly vanished from the forum (SimHQ/CAF). As if after all, everything is a bit complex, difficult or disappointing to get Woff running into VR-3D. While Woff was still in my view, reading all the improvements, I decided to get VorpX and BH&H2. I’m going to see for myself how does BH&H2 is going to cope with VR and give this combination an honest opinion. VorpX is now ready, only after purchase BH&H2 with my credit card today, I do not get any Email back. The CC payment has been approved but still nothing, does this need more time now a days? Please help me. Did miss the extra safety confirmation, getting old I guess. I will publish this on both SimHQ and CAF

Think it’s maybe cheaper and less labor intensive, converting all the old RoF planes to FC first, then create a complete new plane from scratch. The uberplanes like the Siemens and Snipe could be the planes every MP is waiting for, but also be a risk, like the Hanriot and the Sikorsky S16. -

Thanks, old readings on SimHQ forum and Youtube about WoFF-VR are talking about objects like planes and trees being flat 2D. But it seems that VorpX has been improved to bring more 3D to the surroundings. You are talking about an Cfs3 profile from the cloud, I guess it’s probably some download, could you share that link?

I know @Polovski could confirm this better, but I think if UE can run VorpX, then BH&H2 should have no problems either. Now about the VR-3D effects is this on the same level as in real VR flysims like “Battle of Stalingrad” or FS2020, or is it just flat objects in the sky as like an child’s popup book. Do you notice any depth while being in the cockpit, looking at the instruments, plane wings, guns.
