RIP. Only the good die young...

The first week that I had my Motorcycle learner's permit, which dictates that I must have a supervisor following me at all times, I got pulled over. My Dad was in his Jeep behind me, and I had made a left turn in front of a car which I soon learned was a police cruiser. He pulled me over with a flash of lights/siren,a nd I stopped. He walked up to me, asked to see my license, and was just about to nail me for not having a supervisor when my dad pulled up. Phew! The best part, though, was when he was checking my licence and I heard the dispatcher over his radio say "Unit 312, in prisuit of 1985 Honda motorcycle." For about ten seconds, I was honestly being prisued by the police. Way cool.

heheheh... I'm still running SFP1 off of a disc that I bought back in 2002, off of the Superstore shelf for @20. Thanks to all these patches and updates, I've kept it current all these years, but I've only ever been able to have one install at a time. Once I get my new computer, I'm gonna get the whole SF2 series, combine an install, and just play it chean with some basic mods (mostly terrain stuff which I could never run before) for the rest of eternity. -
A real pioneer of the genre, a real character to say the least, and it's very sad to see him gone. RIP

Good to see that the Transformers movies are following the classic trilogy effect: First movie =good guys win, 2nd move =bad guys come back, 3rd movie =some sort of resolution, like overall victory for one side (à la Star Wars trilogy) or some sort of a truce, tie or standoff (à la Pirates of the caribbean). If I can scrape up 20 bucks I'll go see it. It may not have motorcycle chase scenes and intricate, accurate aerial combat scenes, but explosions are acceptable as well. As is Megan Fox.

...I never did anything like that. I used to shoot at Air Hogs with Nerf guns (later, a BB gun) and one of my favorite things to do was to take all dozen of my various flying toys to the park and send them all out in a massive airshow. But I never really blew things up. Probably because I grew up with my mom, and she was a foster parent, ao anything dangerous was quickly done away with.

well, I suppose that in the cargo hauling biz, capacity AND speed both come before beauty... I'd like to see a C-130 conversion with some little jets and some type of flap-blowing mechanism. Perhaps cheaper then a new plane, and probably nicer looking...

Many happy returns! Have a drink on me. I'll pick up the tab through pay-pal.

Canadian Armed Forces CF-4C skin (What-If)
Rambler 1-1 posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - File Announcements
File Name: Canadian Armed Forces CF-4C skin (What-If) File Submitter: Rambler 1-1 File Submitted: 25 Jun 2009 File Updated: 25 Jun 2009 File Category: F-4 Phantom II Skins Here's another "What-If" skin I have been playing with for a while: If Canada's defence budget was enlarged by some factor and we found it neccesary to re-enforce our Voodoos with Phantoms. Based on the stock Thirdwire "USAFGrey" scheme, I edited the .bmps to my liking and then applied the decals, graciously sent to me by Spinners with some mappings to boot. Thanks a million! Check out the Readme file for the full story. Unfortunately, this skin isn't high-res and fancy like most of the others. It is but a simple, 512x512 affair. However, even with the relatively low resolution, the skin still looks great thanks to the use of decals. As a bonus, it is ultra frame-rate friendly! This was originally a Royal Canadian Air Force skin, but the SF series seems to favor the Canadian Armed Forces, and the F-4C was a bit late, so I went with CAF instead. Enjoy! EDIT: Version 1.2, with the squadron included in the Readme and the appropriate tail markings to boot! Click here to download this file -

In the background is our family vehicle, an '08 Nissan Rogue. Great fuel mileage, CVT transmission, but it's an automatic, and I hate driving it. In front of it is my very own beloved XL350R. So light, quick, affordable and fun that I'm suprised it's legal at all. (yes, I know it needs new fork seals. I have the parts and the tools, I just need the time...)

Canadian Armed Forces CF-166 Skin (What-if)
Rambler 1-1 posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - File Announcements
File Name: Canadian Armed Forces CF-166 Skin (What-if) File Submitter: Rambler 1-1 File Submitted: 24 Jun 2009 File Updated: 25 Jun 2009 File Category: F-16 Fighting Falcon Skins Here's a "What-If" skin for if Canada chose the F-16 over the F-18 for our frontline fighter. Based on the stock TMF Belgian Armed Forces skin, with some little tweaks to the skin itself and a new set of decals to create a CF-166. Check out the readme file for more info. This skin is for the Mirage Factory F-16A Block 1 ADF. It's a great little jet! for the squadron (414 Black Knights), add the following to your "Squadronlist.ini" in your "Pilotdata" folder. If you don't have it, extract it from the "FlightData.CAT" file in the "Flight" folder. Fill in xxx with the next number in the sequence. [squadronxxx] Name=414FS DisplayName=414 Black Knight Squadron Nation=Canada Enjoy! Click here to download this file -

I requre some assistance. I can't seem to get any squadrons I want to add to SFP1 here to show up with the appropriate plane/skin. I have tried to add the following squad to the squadronlist.ini, in both the "Flight" folder (where I found it) and the "PilotData" folder (where it used to be). [squadron010] Name=414th FS Display Name=414 Squadron "Nighthawks" Nation=Canada then in the skin that belongs to this squad, I put: [TextureSet] Name=Canadian Armed Forces Grey Nation=Canada Squadron=414th FS Specular=0.200000 Glossiness=0.200000 Reflection=0.150000 but in the loadout screen of the game, it gives me two options for squadrons: <none> or blank. Anybody know what's up?

ah yes, the dwarfs of the cargo plane world. Personally, I don't see the advantage of a little jet-engined cargo plane over a C-130, but some countries just have to be different...

Since when do we have to go to TV for reality? What do we live in again?

you're all stoopid. The forum name should be "Sycophantland" or "Here be the sycophants" -
some good songs on there, a couple bad ones, mostly stuff I haven't heard. I'm more of a progressive-rock guy myself. but I must say that I would rather listen to any of those songs then the garbage that's popular today. Crash Parallel is NOT a ROCK GROUP!

Well, I was suprised last year when Harley-Davidson bought MV Agusta, but some more recent changes in management make that motorcycle merger seem downright trivial. Fiat bought Chrysler a couple of weeks ago, so my dad's new Jeep Patriot (Or Patriote. We live in Canada, you know.) is now theroretically a stretched, jacked-up Panda. Fix It Again Tomorrow, right? LINK Then today i heard about Koenigsegg, builders (read: crafters) of the CCR, CCX and CCX-R, buying Saab. This should be interesting. Saab is going back to it's roots as a proper swedish car maker, not a satelite stooge of Chevy and friends. I'm looking forward to an original design for the next generation of Saabs, and I want to see how the tiny company that is Koenigsegg deals with suddenly having a proper automobile line. LINK AGAIN Now I just hope that Pugeot doesn't get any ideas about Ford...
