You crazy gamers. I think I'd rather see the dusk of war. I never really got into any games other than flight sims, not even ace combat.

Which Do You Prefer?
Rambler 1-1 replied to Dave's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I prefer mud moving, but I do still enjoy a good air-to-air duel. Especially when I get to use the Phantom's awesome RAW THRUST to outclimb, outdive and outspeed those little MiGs. However, nothing quite compares to running the gauntlet into Hanoi at 200 feet and 500 knots with more bombs on board than a B-17. -
you know, there is a thread just for these types of stories. try HERE <-- (Link) nice stories, btw.

After tax price/1.05 = cost of item before tax. (with GST at 5%), because the tax is 5%, ie 0.05 of the price, and so the price with tax = price x 1.05. Rocket scientist? smart engineer? HA. try "Grade 10 math stooge".

even the GODAMMEDCOMMBUILDING would have been destroyed after a hit like that. -
I think it was actually a game of marine military chicken. Both sides were too stubborn to turn away. Crazy europeans, they sail submarines like they drive cars.

F-100 vs MiG-17 strategy
Rambler 1-1 replied to KingLear's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Well, I always try to get the altitude advantage, then I dive in on attacks. If I miss, I firewall it and go back up to try again. Only attack when you have every advantage, and never try to follow them for too long, or get into a turning fight. Remember that the hun doesn't accelerate or turn worth sh!t compared to the MiG, so try to keep your speed up. You can also go really low, right against the deck to force one off your tail. It's kina cheating, because the AI can't fly really low, but it works. Also, if possible, buzz a friendly AAA gun site. They'll give you a hand always. -
okay, I'm 6'1" and 196 pounds as of today. I'm going to try to start biking to school (14km/day), so I want to see if that is going to make an impact. I did manage to gain 5 pounds over the winter, so I guess I didn't do enough skiing...

God I envy you. I'm stuck with an 18" cathode ray monitor, a keyboard and a garage-sale special joystick. Of couse, none of that will matter once I start flying the REAL THING! And I think that every guy should have a girlfreind like yours. The world would be a better place.

I'm still loving the 'vark. These 100 minute deep strikes into Paran just keep getting better! after my second run with 750s, two fuel tanks down, and a gun comes up. I promptly take out that gun with CBU. On the egress, my wingie decided to use his overtaking speed to show off. -
Damm, -8s fly over here all the time. I always considered them to be pretty safe as far as airliners go. I have to agree that the De-icing system failed, or else the ice somehow accululated faster then it could be done away with. RIP, APGTH

You can thank Slartibartfast for that. In fact, he won a fjord award for the design of iceland. I, of course, prefer Finland. It's the country where I quite want to be.

pair of zeroes? Unfortunately, I couldn't find my pic from earler of the siamese-twin zero. Bummer. -
well that's strange. We've got about the same ammount you have, but for us it's a bummer because it's not enough. All the roads are clear and all the driveways are shoveled, but I've put two huge gouges in my skis because there's not enough of the white stuff at the local hill to cover the sicks and stones. I personally find it hilarious to watch how other countries deal with the weather that us Canucks are so used to! Take the day off and don't go anywhere, you lucky buggers. And don't panic. the stuff melts!

I've acted out a couple skits with my friends for talent shows... We did the argument clinic, the silly job interview and the self-denfence agains fruit class skits. Good stuff.... you haven't lived untill you've seen "and now for something completely different".

It's a good thing the navy is getting a new Lockheed plane, otherwise they'd only be flying choppers and variants of the F-18, which, by the way, is built by an AIRLINER company. I don't care if it was designed by Northrop, the fact is that Lockheed will always have a special place as a fighter company, no matter how much boeing may dominate the airline industry. Nothing against the F-18, it's a great plane, but COME ON. You can't expect it to constitute the entire navy air wing. I know it's economic and what not, but to tell the truth, I've been sore ever since the hornette replaced the Tomcat.
