I bought the first copy of SFP1 I could get my hand on back in 2001, and I played it for years with everything on easy mode. I didn't have internet, and I had no idea that you could upgrade or patch your games. After we finally got connected to the web, I ran aground on ArmorDave's site and tried to download a thud and a hunter. After that didn't work, I gave up for a while, but I came back later to google it and I found this place. After seeing the vast DL section, I had to become a member! I had also just been kicked off of another forum site after locking horns with a rather uptight member who evidentally had the power to suspend my posts. This is the only place on the web where I have not been booted off after a couple months, so I figure I'll stay.

taken from a living room in Chiliwack, B.C, Canada, a couple hours from where I live. so far I've got "Lazerpuma Want In" and "I seez you".

I'm gonna miss the bowl 'cause I hafta help my sister move. Women always seem to put me to work right when the game is on. Go Steelers! And, ahh, mako, are you actually pulling for the cards, or do you just like their cheerleaders better?

If you think that the bone is like the result of sweet love between the F-111 and the concorde, then yes. The person below me is a "Sycophant"!

We are all a bunch of sycophants!

I like the final post there, C5. I commend you on keeping online debates clean and free of mud slinging. Besides, there's no rule against sh!t slinging! Though some of stiglr's points are valid, I have to say that he was a bit harsh. Sure, the TW series isn't state-of-the-art, but in what other series can you be knocking down vickers gunbuses one mission, then go and bomb hanoi with a thud next mission, then go and down some flankers in an F-22? -
damm, every year i hear about it and wish I could watch it. Instead I go play Gran Turismo.
-
oh dear. I fear that you may be banned for such a bad pun.

F-105G SKIN "THE IDOLMASTER "

Now there's a good defensive paint scheme. The People's Air Force pilots would be laughing so hard, they'd never get their shots off! seriously, though. Really nice job, especially with the figures on the wings and tail. -
true. In fact, a little too true for my liking. I simply don't have the HD space for either plane, and even if I did, I wouldn't be able to run the game on my current hardware with those planes. I NEED A NEW COMP! The person below me can run WOx in high-def. God knows I can't.

when did arizona learn to play football? It's too dammed hot there for the sport! oh, and is this the "bandwagon jumping" thread?

desperate times call for desperate measures, but who is honestly going to join the navy because of a couple of chicks in bikinis? Well, women didn't work, so I'm guessing that they'll just move on to the next things most likely to attract men; money and alcohol! Sounds like a good time!

Airliner makes emergency landing in Hudson River
Rambler 1-1 replied to eraser_tr's topic in The Pub
If any landing you can walk away from is a good one, this should be downright normal. I'm wondering how somebody broke both their legs though... And it is really good that it didn't cartwheel. That being said, halfway though the school day when I heard about an airliner "crashing" in a river the first thing I thought was 'Airbus!" -
too true, too true. With midterm exams on the horizon, dance class in PE at school and my skiing budget shot up like an O-2 over 'nam, 2009 has not been a picnic so far. The person below me is a firm believer in the power of sleep.

bar raised to 27.229. I would have gone longer, but it lagged!

Hey! It's the MistyFac! I just finished reading Rolling Thunder, and I was thinking about looking for an F-100F. Razbam? -
False. I'm a great pilot, thus I fly Phantoms and Huns and Starfighters for the challange they present, especially against MiGs! The person below me is fed up because the all the good questions were answered by other people.

Fire control, lack of and what you think of it.
Rambler 1-1 replied to GwynO's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
If you're flying in 60's or 70's era aircraft (aka no ccip/ccrp), you should just get used to the level or shallow dive bombing tactics (350-450 knots, 30-45 degree dive angle, depending on the plane) . I enjoy doing strikes on areas such as the one in your picture, especially in thuds and phantoms, because it takes some degree of skill (and luck...), it's not just lining up and firing. However, flying newer planes into areas with SAMs and all the like, it would be nice to have some sort of more modern fire control system, although there is still noting quite like putting bombs on target with a gunsight and some luck. -

Or learn to bomb with the gunsight. For that I would suggest the target range terrain, in the downloads section here. -

I feel sorry for the back seater in the duo-flanker, he has next to no control over his inevitable being blown out of the sky. here's mine; I've been enjoying the safety of the range lately. -
Happy birthday, and many more to come! but I will not sing.
-
False. The only thing I fantasize about is flying. The person below me thinks posts like the one by the person above me are eventually going to kill this thread (or put it out of it's misery... )
-
True! Moving mud has been my very existance ever since I first put a 750 hi-drag on target. The person below me has crashed more then once due to "Target Fixation" while flying a fast jet.

bombsight in WoV
Rambler 1-1 replied to pl80's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Practice does make perfect. A good beginner bomber is the A-10 or the A-4. I tought myself to bomb by doing countless strike and anti-ship missions, until I discovered the bomb range terrain, which is avaliable in the downloads section HERE <-- (Link) At one point, I couldn't "Hit a ruddy oil tanker with bombs", but just today I hit a bar lock radar bang-on with a mk-82 500 ponder launched from an F-4. -
wow, I didn't even know that the Voodoos were ever scrambled. Perhaps I'll try to reenact that with the F-101B and the bear that are up here now...
