my friends are all too stupid. I tried this once with one friend who gaily fired off all my missiles right after takeoff and then, when I was about to kill a MiG, changed views and continued to do so untill I yelled at him and he informed me that I take this game way too seriously. There's also a voice mod you can get so if you have a mic, you can command your RIO or your flight to do things without having to press a multitude of buttons. I can't remember what it's called, though.

"More resistant to scratches" is different then "Impervious to scratches". Blue-ray discs may have improved scratch protection, but over time they are still vulnerable. Another thing, I don't know which movies you rented in DVD, HD DVD and blueray, but blueray hasn't been around as long, thus the disks have likely been exposed to less (ab)use compared to DVDs. Furthermore, DVD players are still much more widely used, so there are proabaly a lot more people who would rent a DVD then a blueray, exposing the DVD to still more use. As for flash drives, I know that they're expensive, but I'd much rather pay an extra dollar to rent a movie that I know isn't damaged then take my chances with an old DVD (or even blueray). They don't even have to be too compact, they're just playing a movie, no need to be the size of a quarter. Also, as much as I hate to rely on the future to back up my arguement, I'm sure that, given the initiative, somebody could come up with a less expensive flash drive movie system. Maybe ask Sandisk...?

oooh, bummer. to find your vid card, go to "start", then right-click on "my computer" and go down to "properties". Once in the properties go to the "hardware" tab, then click on "Device Manager" and go down to "display adapters". It'll show the card(s) you're running. Oh, and about WoI with 448 ram, I'm running SFP1 with 512 and 997Mhz, and it's frustratingly laggy with everything set on "low" (exept object detail and texture), so I'm not sure if WoI will even be playable. I really feel for ya about the computer loss, My comp got a virus and after reformatting, it wasn't the same, partially because the "computer shop" took out most of the useful innards. Now I'm stuck with halfing the size of the skins for all my planes. :cray:

I saw a Jedi get a ticket for riding his bike on the sidewalk. Yesterday I saw 9 Snowbirds land at our airport. The day before that I saw a 5 ton truck get stuck on a two-inch bump.

no matter how advanced, discs will always have the simple weak point of scratches. Many a time have I been stoked to watch some great old movie, "digitally remastered" and all that, only to be informed by both DVD players and my PS2 that they will not play such a scratched up disc. I'm all for putting movies on USB keys and just make a TV adapter for that. Flash drives all the way!

I know it's lock-on! I'm not that oblivious... I was just saying that that's my kind of video, be it LOMAC or SF or Janes ATF or whatever.

I think it's a combination of less intrest, thus less buyers and less money, a monopoly on hardcore flight sims (Microsoft... and I don't think X-plane caught on), the fact that most people really don't want a hardcore flight sim, but a more arcade-style flying game, and maybe even the fact that old games keep getting upgraded, so people don't need to buy the latest-greatest.

awww, how cute! they think they can keep up to WOI... It's sure weird... all this time, nobody has bothered trying to rip off any TW sims as far as I know. And "Combat Over Isreal"? Could they not come up with something more original, or at least less "rip-off" sounding?
