  1. Hello Kevin, Just a small edition that does make a difference though: the KNIL Hawk A7 had an 1200 hp Wright Cyclone GR-1820 etc etc etc so the SL power can be adjusted from 775840 to 894840 i.e. an almost 20% increase in power....... Thanks again for creating this little beauty, Aju, Derk
  2. Thanks Kevin for a job well done. I said the rest in my answer to your WIP post ........ Aju, Derk
  3. Fantastic Kevin, wonderfull that an NEI (KNIL) Hawk is coming along. I did'nt know there was a camouflage scheme like this one though , I'll look it up. It's a forgotten war that took place there, but very much alive in my family. My two elder brothers have probably seen the KNIL Hawks in action before they were interned by the Japanese and "enjoyed" their Imperial hospitality in a prison camp for more than 3 years (a lot of people did not survive it) A KNIL Brewster Buffalo would be nice too..... Aju, Derk
  4. Sounds nice enough but there is also something like airframe life ! The chances for upgrading were missed in the seventies and early eighties ...... Aju, Derk
  5. Everything in the comments above is very true. The Seahawk was well liked in our Marine Luchtvaartdienst (MLD = Navy Air Service) in the Netherlands where it served on the carrier HrMs Karel Doorman. It was equiped with early Sidewinders and used succesfully as a fighter bomber and interceptor within all the limitations it had. And I think the pilots in those days were trained to take those limits into account. My brother in law took his training in the Fouga Magister (a very underpowered plane too) at Brustem AB in Belgium in preparation for the Seahawk, but the squadrons were disbanded and the Karel Doorman was converted to an ASW carrier before he had the chance to fly the jet (he ended up flying Trackers, heli''s and later the Brequet Atlantique instead) Bunyap, thanks again for a job very well done. your Seahwk is a beauty !!! Aju, Derk
  6. We have a quite nice early F84F skin in 315Sq colours already !! As for Hunters MkVI and more - camouflaged - Streaks, maybe the existing Belgian skins could be adapted. But lets remember that modders are human beings too, that is that they have a limited amount of time........ Aju, Derk
  7. WOOOOOOOOW !!!!!!!!, Fantastic Bobrock, now we can relive an era in Holland (except maybe for some Dutch Hunter skins...) Very nice job, thanks a lot. Aju, Derk
  8. Well, SFP1 with everything 6.5GB, Werners F111 cockpit another whopping 6.35 GB and what I call "storage" (sort of an archive: all downloads, skins ,"Davis Monthan", vids, links etc etc ) another 18.3 GB. Actually don't understand why the F111 cockpit takes up such a lot of space.... Aju, Derk
  9. Hi Bobrock, No, I'm not interested in a specific plane. I'll look up at home what I've got and I'll be in touch. If you need specific details I can drive down to the museum ( its a 45 minute drive, see pictures by Muesli) and provide more pictures. Aju, Derk
  10. Hey Bobrock, That was an incredibly quick reaction.... Beautifull job. Ever thought about RNlAF F 86 K's ? Aju, Derk
  11. Sweeeeeeeet Swissssssssssss ! Thanks a lot, very nice pit too......... Aju, Derk ,
  12. Hi Coolhand, Check PM, Aju, Derk
  13. Funny, my Thirdwire F104G (KLu) with two wingtip AIM 9's does about 545kts at FL 43 /M2.2 , 692kts at FL 36 ,even touching M2.25, both according tothe Machmeter, in both cases taking a long time to reach those speedsand showing the red warning light "slow", but nevertheless reaching the brochure speeds. Zoom climbs to FL 70 are also possible just like the real thing and are also based on high speeds at FL 36 to FL 40. You never get there from M 1.19..... At lower level it did about 715 kts or M 1.18 at 2750 ft. It is supposed to be red lined at 750 kts but has been known tot do 800 kts at low level (even with tiptanks according to Clarence Kelly, very dangerous) Looks like it could use some minor tweaking low down (raised the SL max. speed to 410 m/s in the mean time, which should do the job) , but high up it looks quite all right to me..... Maybe Coolhand misread the Machmeter because the 686 kts at FL 40 is considerably more than M1.19 (probably something like M 2.4) Aju, Derk
  14. What is the A 19 mod ??? Does it mean the GE 19 engine variant ?? Aju, Derk
  15. It's in kilo's ........ Aju, Derk
  16. Hey there Kevin, About the Marineflieger F 104's: the AN/ALE-40's were installed on 48 planes fom March 1982 to June 1984 , while the last Navy Zipper was witdrawn in May 1987..... The ALQ 163 ECM that was tried out at Manching and Yeovilton (UK) in 1985 was a podded system that could be mounted on the wing pylons, but AFAIK was never used operationally (see withdrawal date above) The AN/ALE 43was a podded system too, so don't worry about wing mounts etc. The whole thing was in my opinion rather a last minute thing that was only used for a VERY short period..... Aju, Derk
  17. All right, some more research: -RNlAF : from 07-1975 to 06-1980 a total of 68 F 104G's recieved the Sanders AN/ALQ 26 "multi-band trackbreaker" internal ECM system (including RWR) -RCAF : AN/ALR 45 RWR gear with sensors under the nose and rear fuselage in CF 104G -Marineflieger: AN/ALE 40 N chaff/flare dispensers under rear fuselage and the possibility of podded AN/ALQ 167 ECM or AN/ALE 43 chaff dispenser under thw wing for F104G Aju, Derk :scout:
  18. RNlAF F104's had Sanders ALQ-26 (?) ECM gear in their later operational life. According to a pilot it was quite effective. Canadian Starfighters were equiped with ECM as well, with additional sensors under the rear fuselage. As far as I know no chaff or flares. Will look it up, Aju, Derk
  19. WHAT an interceptor ......... Thanks Kevin, Aju, Derk
  20. Nun auch in Deutsch

Werde , wenngestattet, auf "Steinkohlendeutsch" gerne mal mitmachen. Ist ja alles ziemlich nah und nebenan... Ciao, Derk
  21. A couple of moths ago I downloaded a modified dirty exhaust, which was a bit more brownish, had a somewhat longer trail and was a bit softer in substance. It was'not made by Deuces but by someone else. Had to reinstall since then, lost it in the process, looked all over the place and can't find it anymore, no, not even with the search function .......... Would be very gratefull if someone can help me out, Aju, Derk
  22. Thanks guys (Butch & Vader), works like a charm. In fact it's a real litlle gem that i.m.h.o. shouldn't be tucked away in B52 files but should be launched as a separate mod.......... Aju, Derk
  23. Guten Tag Vader 2 Danke vielmals, werde es versuchen. Habe es warscheinlich tatsächlich schon mal gehabt aber hätte es NIE wieder aufgefunden....... Ciao, Derk
