Hey mates,
Two quick questions:
I've noticed on the Mirage cockpit that the Vertical Speed Indicator moves erraticly when changing the pitch of the airplane and the gunsight runs off the HUD in hard G turns. Is there a fix for this?
And, since I'm new here I want to ask what are the essential mods to download.
Thanks in advance.

I just did a clean up and found afterwards that there´s no sound when playing music or anything. It turns out the drivers are missing. The problem is that I have no CD´s. I did a check up and found that two devices are missing drivers.
They are as follows:
Bus SM Controler
PCI Device
Any guesses? Is there a way of knowing what sound ard do I have?
Thanks in advance.

No worries mate Open your main folder. It's location should be here C:\MicroProse\Falcon4. In there, you will find two things that are very important. One, near the bottom the "Red Viper Config Editor", and two your "Docs" folder which contain manuals and such for helping you out with the current version of the sim. When you first open the config editor, just point the executable box to the exe file in your main folder. It's name is RedViper.exe then your good to modify all those folders in the config editor to your likeing. If you just click the text on an item you get a description of what it does to the right which is very helpful. There is tons more, but the manual in the docs folder will help out with all you will ever want to know about the sim. Now days sims are Not just install and fly, it's all about personalization ;) Your main folder is where this will all happen to with downloaded skins, sounds, etc etc etc! PS. Here there is a FAQ I think about the sim, and also over at the free falcon boards there is a FAQ about your common questions... http://www.freefalcon.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=6Mmm, I forgot to mention I have the Allied Force version.

I see no one has replyd but seems everyone has reviewed your post so I will give it a go :) Open your config editor for RV and under sound settings, make sure you check the box "SoundSwitchFix". This should fix sound problems you might have. If you already have it checked, uncheck it. Also, turning on or off 3D sound might do something for you. If all those don't help, maybe update your sound card?? Hope this helps!Where exactly is that config editor for RV?
Sorry for my ignorence.

I´ve seen and heard in YouTube for exampe that when the player throttles the engine the sounds is gradual; that is to say that it increases and decrease in a linear tone.
My engine sound rises and lowers in steps everytime I throttle the engine.
How can I change it?
-
Well for sounds go to <drive>:\...\falcon4AF\soundsLook in there or the subfolders for any sounds (wav files) with the same names you have downloaded. One you find them rename them to nameofFile_old.wav then paste in the new ones you have - (this is so you dont overwrite the old ones.)
Not sure why it has an ini - suspect its for a mod pack installer - you can paste the contents in here
You cant just drop skins into a game directory like with 3rd Wire sims - the only way to install them in AF is to use the skin pack installer or lodEditor
As before download a skin from gamers tools - which should be .skn format - but if its not it will be a zip file (which includes various bmp and ini files) - so put it in a folder called "Falcon skins" or something - then rename it from skin.zip to skin.skn then browse to "Falcon Skins" with the skin pack installer (which only recognises .skn files).
ie \falcon_Skins\tornadoskin.skn
I dont advise you use LODEditor till you can grasp using the skin installer
Alrighty then; let´s give it a try...

Well, for example with the sound files, it comes with an .ini file atached. So where should I put that .ini file and so forth.
Same thing with the skins, where exactly should I install them on game directory.
Thanks.

I have to tell you that I´m falling in love with Falcon AF.
And I want to install a couple of skins to enhace the game as well as other features like weapons and sounds.
Can any one tell me of a good "how-to" webpage to get me started?
Saludos.
P.S. I have no idea how to use that Skin Installer thingy.

I was looking at this video on youtube and wondered if this effect can be installed on Allied Force.
It was originaly created for Open Falcon.

LOL! That was it. It worked.
Thanks!

I was hit hard by viruses lately and as far as I know I´ve practicaly dealt with them properly.
But now Falcon AF won´t star anymore. After clicking on the launch icon the screen goes bplack and the intro sountrack starts playing in the background but the screen remains black.
I´ve already uninstalled and re-installed a couple of times and the preblem persists.
Any idea as to what to do in situations like this?

well, i use the Kaaza codecFor what? For WMP?
-
I need a codec of some sort to play .avi files on Windows Media Player.
Can anyone steer me to a codec?
I also felt kind of nostalgic recently so I downloaded a Nintendo 64 emulator but I was told I need another set of codecs to make it run. Again can anyone help?

Well the story about the combat history of the MiG-23 came from Russia, not Syria. Obviously if the Russians felt that the MiG-23 fell short of expectation then they would simply keep quiet and brag about the MiG-29 or Su-27 instead. If it performed well them obviously they want the world to know about it.
This claim was made in a time period where the MiG-23 was already obsolete and out of the market. So this is what makes the hamster turn that wheel faster inside my head. Why brag about an aircraft that was a failure?
-
Well, show us the pics of captured Russian pilots and downed MiG´s in the Korean campaign?
I haven´t seen any and if you know where to find them let me know ´cause it might inspire to a scale kit project hehe.

I bumped into this webpage and got me thinking. It reminds me of the 15:1 kill ratio story over North Korea claimed by the U.S. Later Soviet archives proved this wasn´t the case.

Ok, I did a mega virus scan and finally got rid of them (so far so good). But now I´m getting this message everytime I start the windows that reads "Error loading C:/Windows/system32/iqhtqpxd.dll" After that the computer runs cool but what´s with that error message?
I think my machine needs a ride to the doctor pronto...
Cheerz!

Well now my anti virus system won´t activate any more...
Usually I keep my web site visits pretty basic...

So should I add AVG shield in conjunction with McAfee?
-
Hello mates,
I recently bought a new PC and everything´s running fine until I get some messege on the lower right part of the screen saying that my windows auto-update is deactivated. I tiry to activate it again but the thig just stays deactivated.
Later I noticed that several webpages just wont open while I get flooded with pop-ups (porn) everytime I make a click.
I updated McAfee and ran a scan and came out clean. Later I downloaded PC Tools Spyware Doctor and ran a scan with that. Sure enough, I had 129 trojans and deleted them. The problem is I still get that messege about the window´s auto-update is still deactivated and I still keep getting those same trojans.
I also downloaded Lavasoft´s Adaware and ran a scan but those trojans are thougher than I thought.
What to do, what to do!
Can anyone offer some advise?
Cheerz!

You probably can tell that I'm new to this forums.
I have done quite a bit searching and have not found any mods for Strike Fighters 2 Isreal.
Can anyone tell me where to find them?
Thanks.
