  1. Man, BoP sure did end up looking a lot better (ie - playable) on the PC vs the 360!
  2. I was playing Call of Duty the other day and thought how SF2 would be so much better if you were on the ground running around instead of in an airplane and if you had machine guns and grenades instead of missiles and bombs.
  3. That was a horrible "hint". Seeing as it's been posted for a few days and no one knows what it is, why don't you just tell us? At this point it's more irritating than interesting. Are you trying to say you've managed to record missions and replay them from different views?
  4. Well, I guess we will just have to keep guessing at it (or just let this thread die) since we apparently aren't going to be filled in on anything...

Are you talking about what they start to show/discuss at ~ 6:30 into this episode? http://www.youtube.c...1&v=Wg8Wa1fMfQE I'm pretty sure that was greatly exhagerated. I can't say for sure, since I've never flown a Foker. But I'm pretty sure what you see there is not physically possible. You can't bring the nose around like that and then accelerate forward and continue to maintain control. If for some reason you could get the nose of the plane around that fast, the aircraft would be stalled and you'd have to recover from the stall - not bank ninety degrees and accelerate onto the tail of your attacker!
  6. I wanted to make the "TRACER4.TGA" in the latest updates for NF4+ and SF2V Exp. Pack a little more orange and a little less red. Kind of like the tracers from the "Downtown" scenes in Flight of the Intruder. I downloaded GIMP and made some changes and saved the file. However, when I went back into the game, the tracer was showing up as a big white square, which is what the game usually does when some effect is screwed up. I reverted back to the original file and had no issues. So, is there something else I need to do to the .TGA file after I alter the colors? Thanks!

I'll take a look at the Dogfights episodes on youtube to see if I can find what you're talking about. I remember watching that one, and I'm pretty sure either: 1) the guys doing the computer recreations misunderstood what was described 2) the guys doing the computer recreations exhagerated what was described 3) like somone else said, the guys that the original story came from exhagerated what they saw/did Either way, what they showed was not possible/realistic. That is the case with a lot of what they showed on that show. The tactics and maneuvers were described well, but the computer scenes usually showed planes doing things too quickly and in much less space than would really be requied.
  8. It looks like it might be the same flight, recorded twice, using different camera angles each time.
  9. Too excited to work!

    GO GIANTS!!!!
  10. It does that on my laptop, so I don't think it has anything to do with the repair. I'll see mins as low as 2 or 3 and a max as high as 50, but the avg always stays put (20-25 for me depending on the mission, settings, terrain, and weather.).
  11. I found that mirrors cause a much higher FPS drop in SF2 than they did in WoX. I used to be able to run with mirrors on and only see about a 5 fps drop. With SF2, it's much higher. Try mirrors off.
  12. Just a thought - What if you set up the cannon as an EO Rocket (like a Maverick) weapon station with an EO weapon that has no model, but does have a sustainer effect that looks like a burst of tracer fire? Then you could fire at anything you could target with the "E" key. Of course, the turret wouldn't actually move, and the "tracers" would want to accelerate straight out from the chopper and then turn toward the target like an A/G missile instead of head straight toward the target. Maybe that can be worked around by adjusting some of the weapon parameters, though...? *edit* - just read ALL of serverandenforcer's post and see that this piggybacks off of what he already suggested. Still, might be worth a try, though.
  13. Hmmm... sorry. I've never had that problem before. Like Wrench mentioned, it might be an issue with the low end graphics card. If that's the case, there isn't much that can be done.
  14. I don't see any other posts from you... What's your othe issue? Happy to help if I can.
  15. Yes, it is a grahpics card/chipset issue. I'm guessing you're using an Intel Integrated graphics chip...? I had that issue when I updated that drivers for my Intel GMA X3100 graphics chip a few years ago. I reverted to the driver that came with my laptop (a November '07 driver) and no longer have the problem. Your options are to 1) try rolling back to older drivers, if you they exist and you can find them (or try updating the driver), or 2) turn "Cockpit Reflections" off in the graphics options menu.
  16. Please tell us what terrain you are trying to instal exactly (link to it, if possible), what you did to install it, and what the issue is that you're having.
  17. Is it working so far? At one point, I added Dixie Station and the associated carriers and squadrons to the campaigns in the WOV or SF2 expansion pack. I don't remember right now if they made the cut or are still there. I guess not if you're adding them again... The issue I found is that the game does not take the squadron's base location into account when assigning missions and targets. So you'll fly from Dixie station but get tasked to strike targets up at Dong Hoi and Vinh. That's a looonnngggg flight in an A-1H. It kind of defeated the point, so I abandonded the idea. Yankee station worked since it's in more of a central location, and flying missions to any of the target areas is at least believable. The only way to get it to work right would be to set up a new terrain with target areas only in the very South. I guess that would be one way to take the split terrain in the WOV/SF2V exp pack to the next level. Divide it into North Vietnam, Central Vietnam/Laos, and South Vietnam. Then have campaigns associated with reach terrain. That's a lot of work, though...
  18. Is this the campaign update you applied? http://combatace.com/files/file/9777-korean-air-war-ground-object-and-campaign-update/ This is necessary to get the campaigns and carriers to function properly. Honestly, I would just wait for the updated version that Wrench mentioned. The old one takes a lot of work to get it working, and the quality isn't on par with what we're used to now... (no offense obviously to the creators of the first KAW mod!).
  19. File Name: SF2 Europe A-10A Loadout Mod File Submitter: malibu43 File Submitted: 28 September 2010 File Category: Loadouts SF2E A-10A Loadout Mod Readme by Malibu43 This mod contains some alternative loadouts for the two A-10A variants in SF2E, as well as a modified LAU-88 rack that allows 2 AGM-65's to be carried vs 3 (Based on images and forums I've read through, this seems to be more accurate. From what I understand, A-10's are never loaded with 3 AGM-65's on one rack). In addition to hopefully being a little more accurate, it also makes CAS a little more fun as it will require you to use something other than guided, stand-off weapons to complete the mission (they put that big gun on the front for a reason!). Strike, Recon, and SEAD loadouts have been tweaked as well. New loadouts are as follows: Attack: 2 x AIM-9 1 x ALQ-131 4 x AGM-65 4 x MK20 Strike: 2 x AIM-9 1 x ALQ-131 2 x AGM-65 4 x MK82 SEAD: 2 x AIM-9 1 x ALQ-131 4 x AGM-65 4 x CBU-24B Anti-ship: 2 x AIM-9 1 x ALQ-131 2 x MK84 FAC: 2 x AIM-9 1 x ALQ-131 2 x LAU-32A Recon: 2 x AIM-9 1 x ALQ-131 2 x LAU-32A 2 x AGM-65 2 x MK82 2 x CBU-24B 1. Requirements: - SF2E - You have the LAU-32A rocket pod installed (included in Nato Fighters 4+). If you don't have the LAU-32A installed, you can do a find and replace for "LAU_32A" in both of the included loadout files and replace that with "LAU-3A", which is a stock weapon. 2. Installation: a. Extract the contents of this .rar file somewhere temporary. b. Drop the folder named "2_LAU-88A" into *SF2E Mod Folder*/Objects/Weapons c. Drop the two *_loadout.ini files into their respective aircraft folders (A-10A, A-10A_78) in the *SF2E Mod Folder*/Objects/Aircraft directory. 3. Enjoy! If there are any questions or problems, please PM me at Combatace.com. This mod may not be used in any payware. It can be used for free as long as appropriate credit is given. Thanks, Malibu43 Note: updated 9-29-10 to correct LAU-32A entries. Note: updated again on 9-30 to correct... LAU-32A entries Note: updated 3-13-11 to correct LAU-32A entries and change some loadouts Note: updated 7-8-11 to correct an error in naming the new LAU-88 rack. Don't know how that wasn't missed before... Note: Jeez.. Updated 7/11/11 to account for a change with the July '11 patch. Click here to download this file
