  1. Yeah, i saw some pictures of the litening on the station as I have it and also on the station where the maverick is as you mentioned. If it is more commonly carried where the maverick is loaded, then I can move it there. Do you have any examples of a few common loadouts?
  2. Something like this? Did you want this for the SF2E A-10A, or the an A-10C? Is there an SF2 A-10C anywhere or do I need to create one with the A-10A/
  3. Sure, but the most modern install I have right now is NF4+, so it'll have to be when I have time to find one of my more modern installs on a back up somewhere... Also, I had a link to a website a while ago that showed loadouts (both in text and graphically) for most aircraft involved in ODS up through Enduring Freedom. There was great info on F-15E loadouts from OAF, and I was hoping to get some A-10 loadout info, but I can't find the website. Anyone know what I'm talking about and have the link?
  4. Maybe some previews are in order... CAS/Recon Strike SEAD
  5. Just curious if anyone's put together (or started to put together) all the add-on cockpits required for making all the red aircraft in NF4+ flyable. This is something I've been thinking of doing for a while, but I wanted to see if it's been done already...
  6. Good. I was thinking that it shouldn't be an issue, but I couldn't remember if data.ini files contained anything that was tied to the cockpit or avionics. Anyone want to split the work? Maybe one person do MiG-19 and earlier, and someone do the MiG-21's and -23/27's? Or something like that... Then we can throw Baltika's campaign files in there as well... Also, I'm getting an error message when I click on that link for the MiG-21 pack, and I can't find it in the downloads section. Can someone tell me where I can find it?
  7. I actually downloaded all those the other night, including all the MiG-23/27 pits. If I have some time, I'll start looking at what it'll take to get them into NF4+. My concern with all the MiG-23/27's are that they come with data.ini mods as well and I think those might require a weps pack. That won't work for NF4+, so I just want to make sure the cockpits can be added without the rest, and that it's not too much work...
  8. I think (and maybe I'm wrong here) that the MF F-18A has that g effect for the top of the wing as well... not sure though.
  9. IIRC, with that patch, you can have a HUD or a ground radar, but not both (due to the avionics dll used). I think you'll have to patch up to '08 to get the ground radar working.
  10. Is there a detail level option for the mirrors? I have a low end laptop, but I've always been able to fly with mirrors on, probably in part because the resolution is so low. I'm afraid if that's bumped up, I'll have to turn mirrors off...
  11. Liking that new water from Fubar512.
  12. Another useful thing to do is look up the aircraft on wikipedia, and you can usually see what pods (if any) are/were used. I can't count the number of times I've used wikipedia to hack various aircraft into different variants.
  13. What are you listening to?

The new live CD's from Flogging Molly and Dropkick Murhpys. Also some stuff from a guy named Levi Lowrey.
  14. Take a look at the Nato Fighters 4 Plus (NF4+) download. It adds all the best NATO aircraft but also a lot of the good Soviet planes as well. That will give you a good start.
  15. For some reason, the posts in my blog (http://forum.combatace.com/blog/6-malibu43s-ppl-bolg/ ) are no longer posting in order. Post #6 is at the top and is the one that shows up on the homepage, but then post #7 jumped down to the bottom below #1, and does not show up in the recent blogs section of the CA homepage. Is there any way to correct this?
  16. Cool. At least that's a way to fix it.
  17. I believe CAP's are generated in the campaign over ground units when there is a ground war going on. Are you trying to get CAP's in the Rolling Thunder or Linebacker campaigns? There is no ground war. The Steel Tiger and Easter Offensive campaigns have ground wars, but no enemy aircraft, so CAP probably won't work there either. This looks like something close to what I said... http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&ct=res&cd=1&ved=0CAYQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fen.wikipedia.org%2Fwiki%2FCombat_air_patrol&ei=ANSOS6yrDo22swO2j-SnCA&usg=AFQjCNGnNS9rTp4JMHxDF3jlN8Vn4iFBgA Anyway, the way the SF series works, you could just fly Escorts and Fighter Sweeps. They all play out pretty similarly.
  18. Unfortunately, there are no functioning A/G targeting systems in the A-6 (or the any aircraft in the series) with the exception of the reflective bomb sight in the cockpit. So your only option is to "bomb by hand". With some practice, you can get pretty good at using that sight, for dive bombing or level bombing at 250 ft. Check out this tutorial for a place to start: http://www.simhq.com...r/air_055a.html Good luck! *edit* - MB beat me to it. And, FWIW, the A-6 included with the expansion pack does not have the CCIP mod installed. I always thought the CCIP in the A-6 looked funny.
  19. Janes F-18..help!!!

Team Super Hornet has everything you need to know about Jane's F-18, including how to install and run it on XP. http://tsh.war-fighters.net/
  20. Go into the data.in file for the aircraft and find the weapon station you want to separate into it's own group. Find the "weaponstationgroupID" line, and change it from whatever it is to the next available number (you'll have to look at all the weapon stations to see how many groups are used). FWIW, if you have more than 6 groups, the 7th and higher groups won't be visible on the loadout screen. So if you're going to have 7 groups, you'll probably want the 7th group to be stations that you don't plan on altering the loadout.
  21. New FE seasoned tiles released!

I just un-installed FE since I wasn't playing it. However, looks like I will be re-installing it!!! Amazing!!!
  22. Football 0 Rugby 1

I didn't play for the actual school team, but a local city team. As a result, I wasn't playing with only 19-22 year old boys/men, but a lot of older guys as well as some foreign guys. I think the result was that it was a little easier to get out of that high school football mentality. It's funny when I tell people that I played rugby they're always like "ooh, doesn't it hurt?". And that's because they're envisioning American Football without the pads. Once I got the hang of the tackling technique in rugby, I usually finished a game with less bruises and sore spots than I had when I played football. Except for the time I tore my quad... ouch. I wish there was a team where I live now. It would be fun...
  23. Football 0 Rugby 1

Being the self centered US citizen I am, I thought this was going to be comparing American Football to Rugby! But, seriously, that was funny. Both because that's exactly what I think of soccer players, and because I played rugby for 3 years in college and think it's an amazing and underrated sport (at least here in the US).
  24. More Dumb School News

I could not agree more. My wife has been a teacher now for 4 years, and I am amazed by the stories she tells me when she comes home. Some of the teachers have no business teaching kids, and her principal has no business running a school. Although I have no evidence to prove it, I'm sure I could say the superintedant has no business running a district, and so on and so on... Unfortunately, careers and longevity in the education system seem to have nothing to do with merit or capability, but more with... um... uh... I have no idea what it is, but it sure isn't merit or capability. There are other problems too that others have already touched on. Parents that don't care about their child's education and upbringing, but are convinced that the school is 100% responsible for all of it. Political correctness is another big thing. My biggest issue lately - My wife works at a school that has a lot of what are called "language learners". Meaning english is not their first language (and their parents probably can't speak it), and in a lot of cases the kids can't read, speak, or write in english at their grade level, if at all. Does that mean the kid goes down to the grade level where he should be and goes from there? Of course not. The kid(s) that reads and writes english at a 1st grade level is in 4th grade with the rest of the kids his age. Then what happens is the kids bombs the state test since he can't read or write anything that he's supposed to be learning. OK. Maybe that works. I mean, the powers that be (the state or whoever) will recognize the fact that there are lots of language learners and as a result they won't expect the same results when it comes time for standardized testing, right? Wrong. The powers that be see poor test scores and that must mean the staff at this school is performing poorly. So now root cause has been incorrectly identified, and as a result all the wrong correct actions are taken. Everyone's running around trying new (and stupid) ways to more effectively teach math, english, and science (did I say science? I forgot. They're cutting that one out to focus on more important things, like teaching kids english), when the problem could be so easily resolved by not letting kids into school or class until they can speak the native language at the appropriate level. Add to all this parents that don't care and political correctness, and it frustrates me to the point that I need a drink. Pretty soon the only thing public schools in CA will do is teach kids English.
