  1. Xbox Live Call of Duty 4 Players?

[DT]DougGregglass on x-box live. I'm still level 55. I don't have a favorite set-up. I change it up depending on the map. Lately, though, been a big fan of the M4 w/ red dot, shotgun, and claymores.
  2. In the data.ini for the different SAM's, there is an entry that says NetworkType=SA-6 or =SA-3. What exactly is specified by the network type? Does it specify specifically what SAM_radar's and EW_radar's are in the network, or just a required quantity of generic EW_radar's and SAM_radar's? I'm trying to understand the reletionships between the different SAM's in the game (SA-2, SA-3, SA-6, etc...), and the different radars that can be added (spoon rest, flat face, fan song, side net, straight flush, etc...). I don't know if certain radars are required for certain launchers, or if any launcher can use any EW and/or SAM radars. Thanks!
  3. Well, here's the deal. I tried that data, it it help a little, but the suckers still fired head on, and didn't lead at all, so they were never even close to a hit, even with me in an A-1J at 150 kts. But then I had another idea. I successfully added the second missile, and kept the launch time at about 10 (seems to be time between launches...?) The result was an errant first missile if you fly straight at the guy as was expected, but then you'd get another right up the tail pipe after you flew over. If you flew around to the side, you get a 90 degree deflection shot (from either the first, second, or both missiles), but they rarely hit. So I think that's pretty much about as close to the real thing as you can get with the 'ole SA-7. Also tried it with a fast mover, and found you only at risk if you linger over the top of the SA-7 at very low speed and high angles of attack, which again, seems to be right on the money! Thanks for your help! Here's the data.ini:
  4. You're right on. After seeing a thread about fixing the hawk launcher issues by tweaking the pitch values, I gave that a try. I gave a range to all the launchers I listed above of about 20-80 and a default of 30 (got those from the SA-9). They all work now!!! And yeah, you better be on top of your game when you come across the Tunguska, or your toast before you know it!!! I have one more question, now, and I promise, this will be the last one. I got the SA-7 working per your instructions, but I want to see if I can change two things: 1. He always takes a head on shot as soon as I'm in range and heading towards him. This isn't accurate and results in every shot being a miss. Is there a way to get the ground object to try for rear aspect shots? 2. He only fires once. I tried adding a second missle system (missle2) by copying and pasting the first, but that didn't work. How can I give him more than one shot? Thanks!
  5. Maybe you could get the weapons door to open automatically too while your at it... ...just kidding...
  6. Not to hijack the thread, but I think this is slightly related... It would achieve a similar result of mixing up the ground units and CAS missions a little more. Is is possible to assign a ground object more than one type of detect system and weapon system? In other words, can I have a ground object that engages both ground targets and aircraft? I was thinking that if you could, you could add and SA-7 type weapon to ground objects, and the result would be enemy air defenses during CAS missions. Finally give a purpose to all those flares you can carry on the A-10!
  7. I'll give that a try. However, the SA-13 and SA-15 have showmissile=true, and those guys wouldn't engage either???
  8. OK, so I had this bright idea to actually fly the test missions that came with the SA-19, SA-13, and SA-15 (Soviet SAMs pack). In a one on one situation, the SA-19 is not nearly as tough as I thought, and I had no problems with it. So I'm going to just leave that one alone. However, I did discover that: 1. The SA-13 didn't engage me at all while I flew circles over, above, and around it. 2. Niether did the SA-7 (from Pasko's pack). 3. The SA-15 locked me up immediately with it's radar, but never actually fired. Can anyone confirm that these vehicles do or don't engage aircraft? I looked through the data.ini files, but I'm not familiar enough with all the systems and their interactions to figure any of it out. I looked through the weps pack and found no reason why the missiles themselves would have had any issues.
  9. I believe in the weapon data.ini, it's listed as type=12, which is the same as the SA-6. So I would assume that's radar. But if that was the case, I would probably be getting something on my RWR...
  10. Thanks again for your help, guys. Got 'em all sorted out and working the way they should. I do have one more related question about the SA-19 in the Soviet_SAMs pack. That thing is whooping my a$$ big time. Pretty much everytime I fly within it's range, I'm dead. Now I don't want to sound like I'm wimping out, but it's to the point to where it's not really as fun anymore and is actually very frustrating. Now, I could just delete it and not worry about it, but I'd like to leave it in there if I can for a good challenge. I just have to find a way to even the odds a little. The wingmen have been pretty good about calling out SAM launches, but for some reason they don't say anything about SA-19 launches. For example, in the last missio I flew, I was cruising along, no warnings or anything on the RWR, and then Boom! I explode, mission over. I checked the log afterward and found that I had been hit by an SA-19. I also saw that about 5-6 more had been fired at me before that one hit me, and there was no way of me knowing it. There also doesn't seem to be any visible smoke trail. I don't know if that's accurate or not... Does anyone know why or what would trigger the wingman not to call SAM launch when the SA-19 fires? Perhaps there's something I can change somewhere to "trick" the wingman into thinking it's a normal SAM and giving me a heads up. Any other creative suggestions for giving me better odds against the "gopher"? (other than just dumbing down the SA-19 in weps data) Thanks!
  11. I'm looking for some input from some of you armed forces guys. I've added a carrier station north of Belgium in WOE, but I was wondering if this would be realistic or not. With a WOE style of conflict, would the navy be involved given the location of the conflict, or would it be airforce only?
  12. That's good... I was a little worried I was going to end up with my own thread...
  13. The version of the pack I downloaded is this one: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...p;showfile=2979 None of the radars have NetworkType=SA-3 that I could find. And, no, it's not hard to copy and paste Network=SA-3 into a radar data.ini, which is what I already did. I'm asking these questions so I can understand how the game works. I saw something that didn't make sense to me so I was asking questions about it. I apologize if it was perceived as being anoying.
  14. OK. The thing that's throwing me off is that the FlatFace doesn't have a NetworkType=SA-3 entry. The SA-2's and the FANSONG have it, but the add on SAM's from Pasko's pack seem to be missing it...
  15. Thanks. Like I said, what I was really looking for is where/how these networks are defined in the game.
  16. SAM issue

It's only an issue if I went through and changed a bunch of things to Mobile_SAM and then get confused when they don't show up in game!!
  17. Yeah, I guess I should have been more specific with my question. I looked at both of those sites a ton yesterday and learned a lot of that. I was actually looking for what the game specifically defined as an SA-3 network or an SA-2 network. If you look up SA-2 in wikipedia, it lists 3-4 different types of radars that are used as part of the system. However, in game, they always come with (or at least apper to come with) a Fan Song only. So obviously the game has some limitations and is not as complex as real life, and I was trying to figure out what exactly the game was looking for. Anyway, I think I have enough info for my SA-3's and HAWK's to work. Thanks a ton for your help!
  18. Thanks! This info isn't availabe to look at in any of the CAT files, uh?
  19. SAM issue

Ah... So nothing should be set as Mobile_SAM, then?
  20. Exactly!!! Does look weird, but I'm sure some people thought the "pink" tornados were weird at first too.
  21. Thanks! That's kinda what I figured. Can the networks be viewed anywhere? For example, I dropped SA-3's into my ground objects folder, and now I want to make sure I have the proper radars in there as well. How would I find that info?
  22. SAM issue

Well, I kinda answered my own question... Since the enemy nation in WOE is Soviet instead of E_Germany, it would be the service entry date and have nothing to do with exports. Also, I changed the availability to RARE, and you see maybe one or two SA-7's and/or SA-9's per mission when you scroll around with F7, which seems about right... However, with TYPE=Mobile_AAA, your wingman don't call out when they launch, so be careful and take lot's 'o flares!
  23. Do you have your AIM-54 data modified at all or is this straight outta the weps pack? I don't seem to have much luck with AIM-54's...
  24. Can you elaborate on what you had to add to the formation.ini in order to get this to work, or link to the info? I just saw the ship formation in you 100nm maverick kill, and I'd like the same for my WOV install... Thanks!
