  1. OK, how about this. First reinstall the infantry pack. Make sure you're putting everything into the right spot and reading the readme. Then, go into the vietnamSEA_types.ini in the vietnamSEA_terrain folder. Do a control+f for 'NVA'. You should find this entry: [TargetType096] Name=NVA_Inf FullName=NVA Infantry TargetType=WAREHOUSE ActiveYear=0 TargetValue=1 UseGroundObject=TRUE GroundObjectType=NVA_Squad RepairRate=0.555 StartDetectChance=50 StartIdentifiedChance=10 IncreaseDetectChanceKey=10 MaxVisibleDist=4000.0 DestroyedEffect=VehicleFireEffect SecondaryChance=0 Make sure it looks like that. Especially the highlighted part. Then go into your groundobject folder and make sure there is a folder named 'NVA_Squad'. Make sure there is a file inside called 'NVA_Squad.ini'. Then look at the files being called out in that .ini and make sure they're named correctly and that they're in that folder. As far as the AIM-54C goes, I've noticed that with that missile too, and not just in this mod. I'm guessing that maybe it's being fooled by countermeasures right off the bat, and then self destructing. I don't know for sure, though. Let me know how the NVA_squad thing goes.
  2. This cannot be for real...
  3. Only if I want the shortest marriage ever...
  4. Also, guys, I'm getting married in 2 weeks (no, seriously - I really mean 2 weeks...), so my support for this mod may be pretty limited until then, and after that, I'm gone for a couple weeks. So, I encourage those of you who've been around a while or those that have this mod working properly to help out those in need while I'm unavailable!
  5. Yeah, that sounds like what happens when you're missing the ground object. Here's the correct file: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...p;showfile=5350 I've never seen that before. Did you start with a clean, patched WOE, or do you have other mods installed? Also, did you figure out your issues with the FA-18 Loadouts?
  6. Sorry guys. I was out of town for the weekend. Let's try and catch up... It's here: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...p;showfile=6043 Under object mods, ground objects, pg 5. I'm not sure what the issue is. Is it a problem in campaigns and single missions, or both? Has anyone else had this issue? Thanks for stepping in! Also, if you want to direct all future questions to this thread: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showtopic=27892 , we can get them answered faster since that thread will show up in the recent posts section.
  7. I think I may have this one figured out... I had the same problem and realized that in my campaign_Data.ini, the carrier didn't have a tour that covered the date of my mission. If you're playing a campaign, go to the carriers and make sure the start and end dates for one of the tours listed covers the date of your mission... I think that might work...
  8. Hey all, I know the target types listed for AirOffensive[001].Primary=, AirOffensive[001].Secondary=, etc... need to correspond to a target type called out in the _types.ini for a terrain, but I was wondering if it's possible to define new target types in the _types.ini or if these are coded into the game somewhere. For example, if I added this to the _types.ini for a terrain: [TargetType100] Name=VC_Inf FullName=VC Infantry TargetType=TARGET_OF_OPPORTUNITY ActiveYear=0 TargetValue=1 UseGroundObject=TRUE GroundObjectType=VC_Squad RepairRate=0.555 StartDetectChance=50 StartIdentifiedChance=10 IncreaseDetectChanceKey=10 MaxVisibleDist=4000.0 DestroyedEffect=VehicleFireEffect SecondaryChance=0 ...then added VC_Inf in certain locations in the _targets.ini, and then in a campaign_data.ini added TARGET_OF_OPPORTUNITY to the targets for air offensives, would that work? I know I could just add an existing target type for VC_Inf (WAREHOUSE, for example), but I'd like to try something different here, if possible. Thanks!
  9. Awesome. Targets_of_opportunity didn't work, but MISC did. Thanks!
  10. RE: CAS loadout... I have no idea what would be accurate, but the CBU-59's look a little funny with 3 loaded on a MER like that. I would either make TER an allowable weapon type for those stations and use that, or change the quantity to 6. Of course if you load it like that (as wells as some of the other loadouts you've posted) it looks like it would be pretty heavy. I don't know if that's pushing the limits of what would be realistic or not. Someone else can speak to that.
  11. Is that a modified wake effect in the pic?
  12. I was also surprised when I started playing IL-2 and PF by the amount of useful commands that aren't mapped by default...
  13. I just realized that I forgot to include that the SU-27 from marcfighters.combatace.com and the Mig-29C from here at combatace.com are required for this campaign as well!!! I've updated the readme on the download page and in the .rar file. They make CAS missions.... um.... tough.
  14. Now available in the D/L sections as well! For those of you that already downloaded from this thread, I would recommend you do the following: 1. download the updated version in the downloads section 2. Replace the LinebackerIII.ini and LinebackerIII_data.ini files. 3. Replace the VietnamSEA__types.ini file 4. Add the D-20_E to your ground objects from the Soviet Artillery download in the downloads section.
  15. Linebacker III (Beta)

    Version

    1,945 downloads

Thanks for downloading my Linebacker III campaign. This is pretty much the finished version. I'm only calling this a Beta simply because it hasn't been extensively tested. This is a completely fictional campaign senario created to allow folks to fly some of the 80's/90's era aircraft in a campiagn situation. It's set up to be fun, and not an accurate representation of what would have happened had there been a conflict in Vietnam in the 90's. The squadron names/numbers are just what was there from the Linebacker II campaign I used as a template, so many of them may be incorrect for the type of aircraft used. Also, I didn't really spend any time on which skins to use, so most the default skin for most squadrons will be whatever the default skin for the aircraft is. I would recommend a dedicated install for this campaign to prevent corrupting something, but it doesn't need it. See the installation instructions for more details. They aren't required downloads or listed in the install instructions, but I would also highly recommend the "Green Hell" mod for the terrain and the "wide sky" mod as well to get the most fun out of this campaign. Included in the zip file: -Vietnam Targets.ini, movement.ini and types.ini -LBIII campaign folder -F-16C and F-18C -TER_CBU weapon rack -Menu Screen -Ground Object updates All the required downloads are availabe at Combat Ace. However, if you can't find something here, try Column5.us. Required Downloads: -Bunyaps Weps Pack -LAU-88_AGM_65D by KingAlbert -Infantry Pack by Kesselbrut -US Armor Pack (labeled 'US 70's to Now Pack' in downloads) -BMP-1 by Rebel Ryder -F-15C (recommend the MSIP F-15C/D for an updated HUD) -F-111F from F-111 Package (look in the readme for where do get the cockpit) -AV-8B+ -A-6E_TRAM -A-7E_Late_MF (from the MF A-7E pack) -F-14A -F-16A_BLK10_NDC (only pilot and fx are needed for F-16C_BLK40) -Tornado GR1 from Tornado Pack -LHA-1 USS Tarawa -Soviet Artillery Pack -SU-27 (marcfighters.combatace.com) -Mig-29C Installation: 1. Recommended: Start with a clean, patched copy of WOE and Add entire VietnamSEA terrain folder from WOV. or If you don't want a separate install for the campaign, you can just follow the rest of the steps and add everything to your existing WOE (w/WOV terrain) or WOE/WOV Merged install. Most of the files you're installing shouldn't interfere with anything else, but I can't promise that. I would recommend a seperate install. 2. Add the included vietnamSEA_targets.ini, vietnamsea_movement.ini and vietnamsea_types.ini into the terrain folder (allow to overwrite) 3. Drop the LineBackerIII campaign folder into the campaigns folder. 4. Add the F-16C_BLK40 and FA-18C folders into the aircraft folder. Also run the installer for the F-16A_BLK10_NDC into a temporary folder, and copy all the pilot and extra files (effects, etc.) from the temporary directory into the appropriate directory in your Linebacker III (or WOE) installation. 5. Overwrite the TER_CBU entry in the weapondata.ini file with the included weapon data. You will need to overwrite the exsisting entry, not just add the data at the bottom. The only difference is the attachment points have been adjusted to allow only the outer and bottom attachment points to be used (for the F-16). Make sure to open the weapon in the weapon editor afterwards so it shows up. 6. Copy all the data.ini files from in the ground object update folder into their appropriate folders in the groundobject folder. This updates all the SAM's, AAA, and vehicles so they show up after the 80's. 7. Install all of the required downloads. 8. If your doing a separate install, place mainscreen.BMP and mainscreen_alt.BMP in your menu folder. I have included two different mainscreens, and you can switch between the two by simply naming whichever one you want to use mainscreen.bmp and changing the name of the other one to something else. There is also an icon you can use. I would also reccommend saving a copy of one of you favorite 90's rock songs in .wav format and renaming it mainscreen.wav and dropping that in the menu folder. I chose "Welcome to the Jungle" by Guns 'n Roses. Really sets the mood! Credits: vietnamSEA_targets.ini, _movement.ini, and _types.ini by TeTeT Modified LBII campaign by TeTeT F-16C created using the F-16C_BLK10_NDC by Mirage Factory F-18C created using the FA-18A from Mirage Factory and the FA-18ba from the checksix megapack. Big thank you to these folks for the work they did and for allowing me to use it!!!
  16. Anyone given it a try yet? I've found a few small bugs that I'm correcting, but I'm curious to know if anyone's found anything else...
  17. Hey folks, I'm trying to find the M101 Howitzer to download, but couldn't find it in the D/L section. Anyone know where it is? Thanks!
  18. Hmmm... well it was required as a stand-in for soviet artillery for a campaign, but seeing as I found the D-20 download, I will probably just go with that instead. The bad guys have their hands full enough as it is with me coming after 'em... don't need them blasting themselves with their own artillery! Thanks!
  19. FWIW, there should only be 2 patches. The first one is a service pack: http://www.thirdwire.net/files/dl/WOV_sp051506a.exe And the second one is a patch: http://www.thirdwire.net/files/dl/WOV_p083006.exe Make sure these are the only patch-type things you're installing. Also, just since Wrench didn't mention it, I'll also suggest you take a careful look through the readme files for both of those aircraft and ensure that you didn't forget an installation step in there somewhere...
  20. In the ground objects downloads section, there is a file called "infantry pack". The soviet squad is in there. http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...p;showfile=5350 Not sure about the other two. If you can't find them, you can always go into the campaign_data.ini file, and do a find and replace for the vehicles you can't find and replace them with some thing you do have....
  21. What are your water settings? My water looks like yours on medium (kinda grey-ish), but is dark blue on low and high. Also, with my water on medium, it "glows" at night.
  22. I actually got it figured out. In Green Hell and Forest and Farms, this is in the data.ini: BlendOp=BLEND_SRC_ALPHA In Cuba, it's: BlendOp=BLEND_DST_ALPHA I changed Cuba to match Green Hell and F&F, and it works now!!! Don't know what I did, but it works... Good work CA_Stary and thanks for the help!
  23. 1. My graphics card (integraeted) doesn't have vertical sync. 2. Should be just wide sky. 3. Graphics settings: [GraphicsSettings] ZBufferDepth=24 MaxVertexCount=8192 MaxIndexCount=16384 MaxTextureCount=8192 MaxModelType=1024 MaxMeshPerScene=1024 MaxModelPerScene=2048 MaxLightPerScene=512 AspectRatio=1.333333 MinPixelSize=1.0 4. 128 MB graphics memory. But like I said, it's integrated. The smaller tree textures didn't help. FWIW, I dropped my VietnamSEA (with green hell) folder into my OTC install, and it ran fine. So I think it must be something unique to the OTC tree mod...? Any other ideas?
  24. Hey CA_Stary, I downloaded the cuba tree mod, and saw a problem I've never seen before. All the trees are flickering in unison at a very high rate the entire time they are visible. I tired messing with all the settings suggested in the readme, but it didn't fix anything. Changing ground object settings has no effect either. I have the Green Hell and Forest and Farms mod, and haven't had this problem with either of those mods, so I'm thinking it's something specific to Cuba. Can you help me trouble shoot this? I'm dying to fly over som Cuban foliage! Thanks!
