  1. Right on. I was mainly just addressing the questions as to why TER loadouts were only showing up as default loadouts, and couldn't be configured manualy. You guys are the experts.
  2. Alright, I got it figured out. There are a few issues: 1. The load limit for the 'b' version of each weapon station (the ARM station) is set at 400. For some reason, this limit also applies to the other version of the weapon station, meaning that the load limit isn't 1558 or whatever, it's 400. Change the load limits for all the ARM stations to match their regular munitions counterpart, and that fixes that. MER's and TER's work just fine, with the exception of: 2. The innermost and outtermost stations are set as racklimitoutsideonly=true. Is this accurate? I know depending on the munitions and configurations, you could end up with weapons "bumping" into eachother, but I thought I'd seen A-7's with full TER's on the outter wing stations... In fact the default anti-ship loadout requires it. 3. This one isn't as related to the specific issue discussed in this thread, but I noticed that the inner most wing station has the lowest load limit. I would think it would be the other way around. Is it correct the way it is now?
  3. Yeah, I was all about the merged installs at first, but I've seen the light. I recently reinstalled so I could have the separate installs, and in the interest of saving time was trying to copy the heavily modded folders (that I thought were not game specific...) from my merged install into the new separate one. So that's how I ended up with the WOE loading screen in my WOV only install. When I get home, I'll do another install of WOV and pull all the correct .cat files out of the flight folder in put them where they should be... unless some kind soul would like to extract the WOV loading .bmp for me and send it my way... ;)
  4. Thanks wrench. After I realized it was a flight folder issue, I found that your Korea loading screen is actually included with the Korea mod. I had just deleted it when I copied my flight folder from WOE over.
  5. That's what's weird. I had a merged install, but this is a WOV only install. All the other menu's and screens seem to be the correct WOV ones, it's just this one that's messed up. Is the default WOV screen up in the downloads section? I don't even know if I know what it looks like... *edit* - and now that I think about it, I did a fresh WOV install last night for the Korean war mod, and I'm still getting the WOE loading screen. Maybe it's from the patch...? *editII* -hold on here folks. Does the default loading screen come from the menu folder, or the flight folder? I just downloaded a loading screen from wrench's site, and it says to place it in the flight folder. This would make sense, because I've been copying my flight folder from one install to another, since I have weather mods, HUDdata.ini mods, and comms mods that I don't want to install over and over again. I didn't thinkg there was anything game specific in that folder, so I thought that wouldn't be a big deal. If the loading screen is in a CAT file in there somewhere, that would explain the issue I'm having!
  6. OT - but I think you meant B-17...
  7. Someone posted about the same issue a couple days ago. The answer was that this is a known issue with the TW series. Once you drop all ordinance, the aircraft tend to want to roll to one side. The way you can get around this is to allow aircraft "trimming". Go to your controls folder and open the .ini file for your control profile. there is a value somewhere that corresponds to the rate at which control surfaces return to neutral when using the arrow keys. If you set this to 0, using the arrow keys acts as a trim now. There is also a value that defines the sensitivity of the arrow keys, and you'll want to lower this (to like, .25, I think...) to allow changes in smaller increments. Sorry I can't be more specific right now, but I don't have my game folder on this laptop, and I can't remember all the details. But if you go into the .ini file, you should be able to figure it out.
  8. Ah... thanks. I didn't know it was hidden in another .ini file. :D
  9. Don't know about #3, but if you go into the aircraft's cockpit.ini file, the ripple quantities are defined in the first section. You can add more/delete some as you wish. As far as random ripple intervals, I doubt that would be a setting in RL. It must be a WOI thing only, since I've never seen that in WOE or WOV.
  10. Awesome mod! It really looks a lot like the smoke trails from the movie Dark Blue World. Very WWII-ish. Do you happen to know which CAT file the tracersmokeemitter.ini file resides in? I wanted to try and get the illumination effect without the prominent smoke trails.
  11. Ah... I see it now. That would be awesome! It will go great with the Green Hell mod during night missions.
  12. Instead of removing chaff/flares and lowering soviet missile accuracy, why don't you just leave the chaffs and flares alone and increase the accuracy and tracking strength of the soviet missiles? Also, do you have any of the weps packs installed? I think they might make adjustments to the soviet missiles. I never fly red, though, so I'm not totally sure.
  13. Falcon 4.0 allied force

Hmmm. That makes a lot of sense. I haven't really tried that at all. I'm going to give it a try next time!
  14. Falcon 4.0 allied force

I've been playing F4AF since last September, and have still not figured out how to perform intediction, and CAS missions without labels on. There is just way too much clutter on the radar scope, and even if I lock something up, I have no idea what it is. One of the things I'm thinking of trying is to carry a maverick or LGB on every CAS and interdiction mission, so I can use the image to hopefully identify the target...
  15. Hey all, I was trying to copy a Third Wire game folder to back it up, and I got the message that one of the files couldn't be copied because it was corrupted. Did some investigating and found that a lod file was corrupt, and when I try to move or delete it, I'm told that it has an invalid directory or filename. I was able to rename it, and reinstall the file, so everything should work fine. However, when researching how to delete the corrupt file, I found that the only solution may be to reformat the entire drive! This is something I really don't want to do right now. Chkdsk and Safe Mode were not able to help me delete the file. So, now I have some questions: 1. Are there any other options for getting rid of the file other than reformatting the drive? 2. Do I need to be concerned about the corrupt file? It's totally renamed, so the game should run OK, right? Is there any reason for me to need to delete the file? Or can I just let it be? Thanks!
  16. I have a MacBook with 2.4 ghz dual core, 2 GB RAM, and an Intel GMA 965. I run with a combination of High and Medium settings and mirrors on. The newer drivers for my graphics chip cause some weird issues, but as long as I stay rolled back to the original one, it works fine.
  17. Check out this thread, as I had the same issue: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showtopic=28079&hl Boils down to needing to change landing difficulty to easy, IIRC.
  18. Good! I'm glad you got it worked out. This mod is a real blast.
  19. See the above posts regarding the .CAT file pointers. You may want to look in the Knowledgebase as well.
  20. Cluster bombs in the weps pack have both these entries, and was wondering what the difference is. [WeaponData143] TypeName=Rockeye ... Explosives=100.000000 FusingDistance=100.000000 ClusterBomblets=247 ClusterDispersion=0.500000 ... [WeaponData144] TypeName=CBU-24B ... Explosives=269.399994 FusingDistance=150.000000 ClusterBomblets=665 ClusterDispersion=0.500000 ... Thanks!
  21. I've never had a carrier actually vanish. They can be hard to find sometimes, though. Did you get a vector to homeplate from Red Crown and follow that?
  22. OK, that makes sense. Does anyone know if it's accurate for the rockeye and CBU-59 have such lower values than the rest of the cluster bombs? I always thought rockeyes packed a more powerful punch...
  23. A while back, I tried to assign a key to deselect visual target, and I don't seem to remember it working. Does anyone know if this command works? Maybe I was doing something wrong...?
  24. Yeah... that's what I thought. Maybe it will be fixed in the next patch. ...not that that is one of the high priorities...
