  1. That really is nice EricJ - you've done a great job! SB
  2. Gents, All the talk about decals - the decal artwork in the Iran/Iraq Campaign was very nicely done - IRIAF markings, Iranian airbase emblems etc. were all included. I'd suspect these birds would end up getting stationed with existing F5 units... (just a guess of course). Perhaps you could mix and match... or at least have example to work from... SB
  3. HMS Hermes

Beautiful Hinch - as always... WDH - Swifts are RAF equipment, no tailhooks... This version of Hermes is perfect for Skippy's Sea Vixen FAW.1's... SB
  4. Break up of United States?

Gents, You also have to remember an important point: News reporting died years ago - today it's "info-tainment". Splashy headlines a la the tabloid press is what outfits like CNN live for - and what could be better than some Russian Economist predicting the break-up of the USA. Hah... the day the US breaks up, the rest of us are going to be in such bad shape we wouldn't be able to notice... Americans come in all different creeds, colours, and political stripes and religious beliefs, but they're all Americans. That's what makes them strong... Something Russia has always had trouble understanding, especially back during the cold war... SB
  5. Daring

BZ Hinch! You do realize you've probably produced more ships for the RN in the last couple of years than any other shipyard!... Thanks, SB
  6. Tales from the RAF

Thanks for sharing these Gentlemen... it's stories like these that always make us remember our days in uniform fondly... !! Defending democracy comes with a laugh or two! SB
  7. Anybody remember the words to the old Mess-hall ditty "We flew the flying boxcar up to 30 thousand feet"... many a beverage has been consumed to that one... Thanks for the great plane! SB
  8. ...anybody remember Ranchhand and Skyking ? Ah, the good ole days of the Cold War... SB
  9. HMS Eagle

...that's okay, the RN always fiddled with the paint too! You know the old rules, if it moves, salute it, if it doesn't, paint it! Beautiful Hinch... SB
  10. Just want to chime in to say I've used all your campaigns, and every one of them still lives in their own separate, unpatched installs. Still think your Iran Iraq is one of the best we've had created for us all - so thanks! SB
  11. Jug, Your EWO wanted to smoke the Radar... heck, CAF Voodoo's did that often enough without any help! Glad you didn't smoke one of 'em... even in those days, one a/c lost represented a major portion of our inventory! SB
  12. F-14 Art

Beautiful work... the guy got a deal! SB
  13. I only added this terrain a couple of days ago, and I have to admit that along with Gepard's Israel2, it's become one of my favourites. I particularly love the highways - adds a lot of fun to the armed recon flights. Beautiful work! SB
  14. HMS Eagle

    ....Puuuuurdy! Very nice Hinch! SB
  15. Hi, The design of that series of British bombs is much older than the Tornado... doubt that's the reason. The Paveway kits came along much later... SB
  16. Both of you have done beautiful work! I'm a big-time Shar fan, and these skins are just the ticket. I really like the 700A skin! SB
  17. HMS Eagle

Hinch, I always thought the Daring class were one of the prettiest the old Admiralty design shop ever came up with... and you've done it justice! Terrific work as always, SB
  18. CL, The Wyvern did have a US Cousin... the Douglas Skyshark. It's basically a Spad with a turboprop installation. A very, very nasty looking monster... but from what I understand, it suffered pretty much the same fate as the Wyvern. Throttle-lag, and the looming jet-revolution limited it to (I think) only the pre-production machines, and limited development work after that. There's some pictures of the beast on the www, and a very nice vacuform model of it made by Dynavector. Only paint scheme I've ever seen one wearing is the old Glossy Sea Blue - but they sure look sexy! Here's a URL to a model of one:http://modelingmadness.com/reviews/korean/cleavera2d.htm SB
  19. HMS Eagle

Skippy, Everyone knows that Observers are the Elite of the FAA... anybody can drive, but knowing how to get home is another matter! Hinch - Any RN carrier you'd ever create is guaranteed a place of honour on my hard drive. The choice is always yours... If you did the pre-angled deck Hermes, wouldn't that open the door for Centaur and the rest of the family ? I know you mentioned Victorious, but I have to admit my all-time favorite remains your post-war Illustrious. That's my deck of choice... SB
  20. HMS Eagle

...Now we know why you're a rotorhead! Seriously, thanks to you and Hinch for bringing the FAA to the fore once again! SB
  21. HMS Eagle

Hinch, Any chance of a mod where we can use Skippy's new Wyvern to recreate the infamous incident of Eagle "adding" a Wyvern to her funnel Kidding of course... Thanks again, SB
  22. Hi folks, Since the last couple of patches were released, many have commented upon the fact that several of our older models require .ini edit's to get them back under control. Can any of the "Gods of ini modelling" point me towards which settings in the data.INI need to be modded to have aircraft models actually sit on their landing gear while on the ground? I've noticed many of my older favourites actually suffer from having their landing gear "submerged" when they're sitting on the runway. I've been messing around, but so far all I've managed to do on one of them is to have the aircraft perform an instant back-flip... which would be great in an Olympic diving competition, but doesn't do much for flying models (something to do with that sudden impact with terra firma and the end of the manouver!) Any advice greatly appreciated! SB
  23. HMS Eagle

Hinch, Beautiful job as always - and thanks for launching the best carrier the RN ever had (at least she's always been my fav!) SB
