well, let me tell you my inside info. I hate to admit this, but I have been in support for about 10 months like an idiot I volunteered, because they fired about 75 percent. For guys that dont know, Support is the tool crib, and it is a 1 to 2 year detail that gets you off the flightline for awhile. I was the #1 guy that made fun of support before I came back here too. Anyway The toughbooks arent so tough physically either. We have had 8 shattered screens, and at one point we only had 24 out of 80 operating. Thank God I go back to the flightline in 2 months!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WOV F-4 Phantoms
krgf15 replied to GreyCap's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Dont forget that the BCD and J models on there are hard wing too. Pluss, I would imagine that you need to watch the accelerometer to make sure you dont over g if you are looking for realism. I know there are some F-4 aircrew on here, and I have flown an F-15 for exactly one time for 3 minutes (incentive ride) and from what I have seen, you dont move the stick alot to get response. But I dont know if the F-4 had any type of CAS like the F-15 either. I do remember that the E-model I rode in (mine was cross country) had alot of buffeting under g-load when we were still full. We were CFT with no bags, so that was about 22,000 pounds of fuel. -
Why do you say that? Its a bad system. Instead of a BPO taking an hour, it takes 3. Everything takes longer. If a real world emergency comes up, you cant rely on them. With the paper T.O>, you just flip to the page. You cant use the toughbook as kneepad either:) unless you are meaning that they arent tough. maybe im the stupid one here

The Green Persimmon. Has to be the most sour fruit in the world. When I was a kid in Alabama, my Uncle tricked me by telling me to have one of those green grapes that fell off that tree. To young to know that grapes dont grow on trees, I picked it up and bit it, changing my life forever.

yall should see this new Fiasco we are going through in a few F-15 squadrons now. We are replacing paper Tech Data with laptop computers. "toughbooks" you have to be logged on to the exact step in the computer nowdays even for putting -21 on the jet (covers fo those who dont know). when the batteries die, you have to stop where you are at and come inside and get a new battery, then re log in while connected to a LAN cable, then go back out and finish. I AM NOT JOKING OR EXAGGERATING

Microprose F-15 Strike Eagle Then one of the early flight simulators. the one that had the crappy WW1 combat on it -
yeah, but as apg crew chief, all we did was gas it and pretend to inspect it so you guys didnt run over us with the jammer

oh yeah, i wasnt too happy in the picture, because that was my piggy 87-0182, and she had just failed her 3rd FCF for an uncommanded roll

Me trying to look cool in Osan 2003. Yes , that is an F-15E in a 1st generation HAS. We had less than 2 ft wingtip clearance, we actually had to stand a guy on the wing to axle jack the main for a tire or brake change. And yes, im still a SSGT, so that means im either stupid or just havent studied good the last 4 tech test

add on skin problem
krgf15 posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I am having a problem to where with some of the add on skins that have decals, like some of the F-4 and F-14 ones, If I dont go in and force feed the number for each jet, it tends to start out as the last # for every jet, and does not have all the decals on the jet. So lots of times, I will see the jet flown by the computer, and most of the time it loads as the last # and has no markings. I hope you guys know what im talking about -

If we have a crew of 4 that know what they are doing, (2 to do the work and 4 for the roll out, I think you guys have to ratchet it out right? we just have to push it.) We can have it out in under an hour, and about an hour for the bay, and if QA is quick, another half hour, and then like you said, if everything lines up, about 30 min to an hour. This all depends if you have the trailers handy, and if you have to transfer the moter from the 4000 to the 3000
