F**king dreamers http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-12302451 They're so blinkered they can't even see that 99.99999999% of the population on both sides of the border here have no support whatsoever for their sad little cause.

Will These Retards Ever Know When To Call It A Day
Piecemeal replied to Piecemeal's topic in The Pub
I don't think it'll ever get back to the way it was. The vast majority of people in both the Protestant and Catholic communities are just sick and tired of conflict and don't ever want to go back to the way it was, especially after having a good taste of peace and quiet over the past few years. -

Wow!! Talk about a suicide run! Goose Green was never so f**king hectic. Hats off to the Sf2 Malvinas creators  -
New Cockpit Sound
Piecemeal posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
I spliced together a new cockpit sound some months back using recorded audio sounds from a taped Thud mission in Vietnam that I got from a website. To make it more interesting I mixed it with an add-on cockpit background sound. The trouble is it won't play due to the fact that it's (I'm guessing) not the correct bitrate. The sound editing program I downloaded to do this was a free one and the tasks you could perform on it were pretty limited. The sound itself is over an hour long but I'm sure it could be made to work. I've played it on my Windows media player while flying missions and it really adds to the atmosphere, while making long flights a little less boring. Would anyone with proper sound editing software be willing to take this and work on it? -

Geez; oh well, to use the old saying 'it seemed like a good idea at the time'. I'll check out the downloads section for what you've made. In the meantime if anyone's interested in taking it off my hands I can forward it to them via rapidshare. Maybe they can cut it up a bit and make it a more practical size. -

Am using Polak's Desert tiles to create a 'WInter' season when the weather wouldn't be so hot. Works no bother except for the fact I'm having trouble getting them to show when they're supposed to. Is there another INI file besides the main terrain directory one that I'm supposed to edit? -

Request for Any WOI Nesher flyers
Piecemeal posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Hi guys. Does anyoneknow if the RHAW panel lights in the Nesher cockpit ever worked? I copied the cockpit over to the SF2 series a long time back but there's never been any AAA/SAM lights active on that panel in a hostile environment. I've also edited the cockpit.ini file using cockpit data from the SF2 F-4E. I'm just wondering if it's possible as it's a cockpit feature that I'd like to make use of instead of just sitting there making the cockpit look pretty. -
Being laid off is becoming a national pastime here in Ireland. Just as well the clowns in charge here are doing their final week in parliament before the general election. Let's hope there's more than a few of them will get laid off.

Yeah I know. I just wanted to give an idea as to which panel I was on about. This query was just a shot in the dark really since I don't have WOI anymore. After flying the SF2 series for such a long time you tend to get used to these useful cockpit tools. -

Cheers bud. Much appreciated. This cockpit is one of the few exaples of a series one cockpit being better than the series 2 version. The only thing that needs to get working when they're supposed to are those RHAW lights. -

Nice skin job bud. It's a pity TK didn't allocate missile rails for the outer pylons on the A-4F_74. Shrikes and Sidewinders would look a lot better and true to real life there. -
Your advice on SF2
Piecemeal replied to FLOGGER23's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mission & Campaign Building Discussion
Hi 23. The Malvinas mod has already been updated for SF2 and it's available for download in the SF2 download section. As to whether you'd be better off using a stand-alone install or not, I couldn't give you an honest answer. The 'Old boys' would know better on that count -

SF2 Exp2 UPDATE Jan2011
Piecemeal replied to Crusader's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
I'll be interested to know of this patch has fixed the effects woes I've been having since I installed Exp2. Buildings, warehouses, fuel tanks etc. are just being replaced by the destroyed model when they're destroyed instead of erupting in a ball of flame and shrapnel. -
What's The Unit Measurement Of These Entries?
Piecemeal posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
I'm working on fixing the attachment positions and angles for the Soviet MBD2 and MBD3 bomb racks for some of Lindr2's Soviet bomb models. I'm sure enough of the other entries but just not sure what measurement unit these values represent: -
What's The Unit Measurement Of These Entries?
Piecemeal replied to Piecemeal's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
That's the way they were when I extracted them from the SF2 Weapons Pack. I was thinking the same thing myself. Will sort the exact angles out eventually. The attachment positions and such are all over the shop! Working on it now atm -
Can anyone with some IT experience point me in the right direction with this problem? For over the past month I've been getting this message up when trying to download something from the site here: I thought I'd sorted the problem out by switching off my Accelerators: ........ but that warning message is still coming up. As for download managers I haven't a clue what's on my system or where to find them. At this stage the problem is really p**sing me off big time as there's been a lot of great mods released over the past month and I'd rather get this sorted before I download anyhthing. And, oh yes, I've already tried googling the subject but the results have all thrown me on a brick wall.
-
I thought it was a message specifically for me (or should I say my system settings) to get sorted. Right then; now that that little issue's sorted I'm off to try out lindr2's Soviet Bomb pack. Cheers for the look in lads
-
So all this time I've been unnecessarily holding off on downloading mods? Business as usual then? Only thing is that I always get that message when I want to download something.
-
But if you read the text in the red box you'll see that continued downloading with my current set up will interfere with the servers on CA. Sure; I can still download from the site at the moment but I'd rather not get a message in the future telling me that I've been prevented from downloading material from CA. Prevention is better than cure in this case I think

Fixing Decals to the right position of SF1 to SF2
Piecemeal replied to VA27Badger's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
As regards decal placement, it took me a while to work out but I can tell you now that the decals need to be brought back by a value of 1.4. Some of them might need slight slight adjusting by a fraction more or less, but you'll be able to tell by looking at the decals. The BMPs are a different story. I had to do a lot of doctoring and copying over of pieces of the SF2 stock BMPs to the old ones. That's if you want them to look good Here's an example of what I mean: -
Anyone Got Effects Problems Since Exp2?
Piecemeal posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
Hi all. I've just been wondering if anyone's had problems with Stary's Hollywood Explosions pack since Exp2? To give an example, all the fuel tanks have been given these effects: DamagedModel= DestroyedEffect=LargeExplosionEffect DestroyedModel=fueltank1_destroyed SecondaryChance=100 SecondaryEffect=MediumOilFire Since Exp2 these effects don't happen. When destroyed the 'fueltank1_destroyed' model just appears. No explosions, no smoke, no fire. This probably isn't the only effect that's been affected, but this is one I've noticed so far, since I'm having trouble with something else. Anyone else got similar problems? -
