  1. Hi guys. I'm glad there's widescale approval of this project. Makes it all more worthwhile also to know that there haven't been much problems with it. Sorry I haven't got back on this sooner, but for those who might be wondering whether Desert3 would be workable in the other SF2 titles; sure! As an experiment I copied the Desert3 folder over to the SF2E terrains folder and flew a single mission with everything the way it should be - no problems at all. So if you've already got SF2 as well as other SF2 titles and you want to use Desert3 in, say, SF2V - you don't need to install the Desert.CAT in the folder. For those who have some SF2 titles but don't have SF2, Wrench is correct. Just follow his instructions above and it should all be fine. The terrain itself started out in SFG and when I moved it to SF2 it worked without any problems. I only needed to make some INI adjustments in order to take advantage of the changes that TK made. So the Desert.CAT file from SFP1/SFG is suitable for the job at hand.
  2. Show off your Desktop!

I usually change mine every couple of weeks; but for the time being it's something dark and moody
  3. What are you listening to?

Last week: The Stranglers Greatest Hits 1977 to 1990 This week: The Sound Of The Smiths Next week: must browse through the iTunes Store Isn't it great when you stumble across an album or a band you haven't heard in yeeeeears. You download them and you literally wear the a*se out of those mp3s for at least a week or so
  4. I think guys that you can't fault the SF2 cockpits; especially when you compare them with SFP1 versions. When I first purchased SF2 I was totally gobsmacked with the effort that TK put into them. For anybody that doesn't have the SF2 series - what are you waiting for?!!! The cockpits alone are just one of the good enough reasons to invest in them Since I bought the SF2 series I haven't looked back once. As for aircraft I'd love to see more of; well I know the Jaguar is already available in Column5. But lately I added it to SF2 and although the flight model is pretty good I do miss little cockpit additions you'd find in the SF2 models like (for example) the control stick. I don't know if I've ever seen any French Air Force versions either. Other models that are available but I think could do with a little work are two of my add-on favourites; the Mirage F1 and the Mirage IIIE. Fantastic models for the most part otherwise
  5. Time for a little al fresco spring cleaning
  6. I've installed Column5's Jaguar GR1 in SF2 and it seems to work pretty OK apart from the digital fuel gauges in the cockpit, which don't show up at all: I wouldn't know where to start in the cockpit.ini. and I couldn't find a Jaguar that was released for the SF2 series. Anyone know how to fix it?
  7. Took a while to find my old copy of SFP1. Everything's where it should be now. Thanks a million for the pointer, bud. Owe you one
  8. No joy I'm afraid, guys. The Jaguar HUD mod is more for SFP1/WOE and the NF4+ mod doesn't include any Jaguar files. I think this is more of a minor differences issue between first and second generation SF
  9. More endearing dawn shots Looks like Johnny FartPants has dropped his last air Biscuit
  10. Best Sci-Fi movie ever

The Giant Claw, eh? I'd watch that one with a six pack of beer just for the sheer comic value. And what?; Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus? I bet the producers were up all night thinking up the title for that one
  11. More like ARRRRRRRRRRRRRH!!! I spies me one of them nasty bomb thingies. So THAT'S why Captain Birdseye went into a career of fish finger advertising
  12. For those who might be interested; I've released edited versions of the default campaigns: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=10692
  13. A Thin Lizzy song comes to mind ...... .......... The Boys Are Back In Town
  14. I've been using it for the past few months while populating it and there's been no problems at all as regards patches. The terrain folder itself is called 'Desert3', so patches won't affect it as they won't take any notice of add-on folders. The campaigns should work properly but you won't get the full benefit of (for example) the two extra Parani airfields I've added - the default campaign INIs won't recognise P13 and P14 airfields, as they're not listed in the default files. The Dhimari airfields I moved will still be recognised by the campaign files, as they're still called D9 and D10. I'm currently working on some edited default campaign INI files to suit the terrain better and give you more of a benefit of what's been added. They'll be uploaded as soon as I've polished them off; which won't be long from now
  15. A new tiny man on the planet

    Job well done, bud
  16. Desert3 - coming VERY soon .........
  17. Here's a few screenshots from the Madagascar terrain that I've installed in SF2. The pictures I think will speak for themselves: Does anyone know if this is a compatibillity issue between first and second generation TW or what?
  18. BTW, I forgot to mention as well that this is only a sample area you can see. A lot of areas along the coast of Madagascar are like that too. AFAIK mainland Africa seems to be OK
  19. That's the way the terrain's been since I installed it in SF2. I only started using it lately as I'm working on some new targets to put on the map. But as you can see; it can be pretty difficult in some areas
  20. Hey Ox, man!! What you up to? Oh, hi Chick. Not a lot. Just watchin' the game; havin' a Bud. You? Nothin' special dude; just watchin' the game, havin' a Bud ............
  21. Hi guys. I've added Gepard's excellent Korat Airfield mod to the SF2V Vietnam terrain but it keeps flickering when I go above 500ft or so. Does anyone know of a fix for this? I'd add a screenshot but the site server is telling me that I've used up 40.19mb of my 40mb global upload quota (whatever that means). Cheers in advance
  22. Ah, so that's why I can't place objects on it properly. For a minute I was starting to worry that maybe my SF2 installation was f**ked up.
  23. I think I've realised what's happening. I was having trouble adding stuff in the right position due to a problem with what I've already got in the area. As an experiment I added Armourdave's Korat Airfield mod to the Desert terrain http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=1019 I was trying to put a control tower next to the runway but it was never putting down where I wanted it. Everywhere else is fine for object placement. As regards the Madagascar terrain, it's also an old SF1 mod that'll probably need a little work to bring it up to speed with SF2
  24. Style Your Garage

A German firm called 'Style Your Garage' creates posters for garage doors that make it look as if it's actually showing the interior of your garage - and what's inside it! Prices range from $199 to $399 for the double door. All are guaranteed to make passers by take a second look!
