This shot was just too good not to share ...... Same pose; same mission; different time of day ..... Their eventual goal; the capture of Kurzah City -
What really got me addicted to PC games in the first place was 'Quake II'. The graphics may be archaic by todays standards but I still get an adrenaline kick out of it every time I play it on my old desktop in the spare bedroom. Along with Call of Duty I of course

Another remake ............. Yaaaaaaaaaaawwn!! Just proves most peoples' view that the scriptwriters in 21st century Hollywood have the creativity of Arse Water. Although I must admit that I am just a tad curious as to who'll be playing dastardly Colonel Decker. I suppose nobody'll be getting killed in this version either

SF2 Series UPDATE ALERT!
Piecemeal replied to Crusader's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I've been 'off the radar', so to speak, for the past month or so and am only getting back into the latest news. I suppose you could say I've always held back before installing new patches and waited until I saw what everyone else thought of it. I've looked at this thread and I'm still a little unsure as to whether I should install it. There seems to be still a lot of negative feedback from others and I'm afraid of messing up my four SF2 titles, all which I've HEAVILY modded. So what's the current verdict folks; is the patch safe enough to install in a heavily modded series or should I wait until the previously mentioned 'concerns' are ironed out? The last time I installed an upgrade it took me two weeks or so (and a nasty dose of 'typers cramp') to bring thousands of tweaked files back to the way I wanted This is something I'd prefer to avoid. -

Great work (as usual) Spinners. Just one question, though; was there ever a Rolls-Royce Sequanna series of engine ever built? -

More AA/SAM cover over the Dhimar/Paran theater?
Piecemeal replied to Julhelm's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mission/Campaign Building Discussion
Hi Wrench. If it's the text file I uploaded earlier you're on about, it's really a Parani flag that I created by using the Libyan flag from the Libya Terrain as a model. All I did was change the bmp. I suppose I should have changed the name of it there and then but I had a severe dose of 'Lazyitis' at the time Either ignore the entry or I could upload the flag for all to use -
More AA/SAM cover over the Dhimar/Paran theater?
Piecemeal replied to Julhelm's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mission/Campaign Building Discussion
Here you are, bud. I had the same thoughts a good while back and got stuck into the long chore of creating not only SAM sites, but Flak batteries as well for both sides on the map. I decided to make Kurzah, the capital of Paran, something similar to downtown Hanoi; with four SAM sites and twelve Flak batteries scattered within and around the immediate vicinity of the city, so if seeing those big smoke puffs during a strike mission is your thing, then you won't be disappointed. My advice is to try out a strike mission in Kurzah and if your framerate goes a little too low, then delete a couple of the Flak batteries of your choice. Dhimar-Paran SAM & AAA Sites.txt I probably don't have to tell you; but just in case, just copy all the text in the attached file, paste it on to the end of your DESERT_TARGETS.ini file and change the 'TargetArea' numbers to correspond with the rest on that file. Here's hoping you have some good ducking and diving! -

Adjustable Turbulence
Piecemeal posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Can anyone tell me if it's possible to adjust the turbulence level in the cockpits? I've noticed in some cockpits that the turbulence is pretty 'frisky' and I thought that would be a great thing to have, especially in some of the fast low level strike aircraft -

Maybe I didn't explain my query properly. I'm on about the 'shaking' effect in (for example) Paladrin's add-on MiG-21MF cockpit. It's pretty noticable in that cockpit and I was wondering if it was possible to apply the same to other cockpits, including stock ones by maybe making changes to an INI file. BTW, you probably did explain it properly, it's just that technical avation lingo isn't one of my strong points. -

I know exactly how you feel, bud. A couple of years back I found an abandoned female shihtzu in the nearby Industrial Estate while working in a Security job. I phoned my partner and she came up to take it home. After taking her to the vet the next day we discovered that she was dumped for no other reason than because she was old. We took her home, christened her 'Lady' and got her cleaned up. About a year later when she started passing blood we found out that she had bowel cancer. For the sake of saving her any more continued pain the vet suggested putting her to sleep there and then which I reluctantly agreed on. I was surprised how quickly I got attached to her, and it's only when she passed away in my arms I discovered that. At least my partner and I gave her all the TLC she deserved before she went. Here's to Mack and Lady
