Populating carriers in Single Missions
Stick replied to Stick's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mission & Campaign Building Discussion
thats right...but you your sequence is repeated... FriendlyNation007=NewZealand FriendlyNation008=RoyalNavy FriendlyNation007=Netherlands FriendlyNation008=NetherlandsNavy; should be FriendlyNation007=NewZealand FriendlyNation008=RoyalNavy FriendlyNation009=Netherlands FriendlyNation010=NetherlandsNavy; Your Nations.ini in the Flight folder should have these. To make it simple just add the USN and use the latest CVN-63 or 68 model. -

You know what I did! In the the terrain_Nations.ini, add the particular naval force you want. e.g; FriendlyNation004=USN When you select a naval aircraft it will start out on a carrier, instead of your having to create a naval unit especially for it. Side benefit parked aircraft. Woo hooo! I feel like I've solved a math problem! -

Personally I think dedicated single missions would be more appropriate. -

Affirmative jeanba. For my Ahits; this is what I have; they scoot along at a cool 400+ kts ; which with a full bomb loadout and air-strikes deep into sandy badlands make sense for me with no AA refueling [FlightControl] StallSpeed=49.41 CruiseSpeed=200.43 ClimbSpeed=110.04 CornerSpeed=158.78 LandingSpeed=53.21 MaxG=7.00 MaxSpeedSL=304.55 MachLimit=0.930 PitchDamper=0.6 RollDamper=0.4 YawDamper=0.0 GunBoresightAngle=0 RocketBoresightAngle=0 FlapSettingForLanding=2 FlapSettingForTakeOff=1 See the MiG-29A; a relatively fast mover; [FlightControl] StallSpeed=66.67 CruiseSpeed=231.5 ClimbSpeed=181.26 CornerSpeed=227.88 MaxG=9.0 MaxSpeedSL=411.71 MachLimit=2.40 PitchDamper=0.5 RollDamper=0.4 YawDamper=0.0 For realism remember higher speed means lesser range, unless you're flying a B-1 or something; -

In each aircraftdata.ini edit the cruise speed. I have a hard time maintaining OTP for rendezvous; and they go over the targets at high speed too. -

So while we wait for the downloads to be brought back up online, I was curious to find out how many of us are actually successful in bringing their respective birds down without pranging at Ísafjörður Airport in the stock Iceland terrain ! The AI very conveniently lands on the hill in front of the runway clears the top and then lands; Ive tried coming in the other way in a Hercules but no luck! The other aircraft I've tried is the Lightning. 7 times so far!

Eric, TK's Iceland is waaaay tougher...in fact it is quite close to the real thing as depicted in the video above. I imagine you ought to be able to do it in a Hornet; but do try it on a Herc-no speed brakes! -

Of course Of course it counts! This place is actually way more challenging than an aircraft carrier!
