The scheme is based on real world RAF P-47D Thunderbolts with No.73 OTU and this unit used both Razorback and Bubbletop Jugs whilst based in Egypt and wore standard ETO camo. -

Dhimari P-43 Lancers
Spinners posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Sci-Fi/Anime/What If Forum
Republic P-43A-2 Lancer - No.1 Squadron, Royal Dhimari Air Force, 1942 Delays with the Pratt & Whitney R-2800 engine intended for the new P-47 Thunderbolt meant that orders were placed for an additional 200 P-43 Lancer fighter aircraft in order to keep the Republic production lines operating whilst waiting for P-47 production to start. Of this additional batch of 200 P-43 Lancers, 54 P-43's were allocated to the USAAC, 125 P-43A-1s were allocated to China (under the lend-lease program) with the balance of 21 aircraft being allocated to Dhimar as P-43A-2's. These were eagerly received by a desperate Royal Dhimari Air Force who wasted no time in re-equipping No.1 Squadron during the Spring of 1942 and also the High-Altitude Reconnaissance Flight where the P-43's excellent high-altitude performance enabled it to regularly fly above 40,000ft. In Dhimari service, the Lancer was well regarded and this led Royal Dhimari Air Force officials to push for P-47 Thunderbolts in preference to other types of fighter. Skin Credit: Charles -

Dhimari Thunderbolts go on the offensive
Spinners posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Sci-Fi/Anime/What If Forum
Republic P-47D-21 Thunderbolt - No.9 Squadron, Royal Dhimari Air Force, 1945 With the war in Europe at an end the early Summer of 1945 saw the transfer of equipment from Allied Forces to Dhimar, typical of which were war-weary P-47D's from the USAAF 9th Air Force. By early September 1945 a three-squadron wing of Dhimari P-47D's had been formed at Mosak and began to clear the skies over the Al'Samara region with long-range fighter sweeps followed by fighter-bomber sorties in support of a resurgent Dhimari Army. -

View File Dassault Mirage IIIVE 'Arab Nations' for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 Dassault Mirage IIIVE 'Arab Nations' for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 This is a simple mod of Veltro2K's Mirage IIIV to create a fictional Mirage IIIVE in service with the following Arab Nations in the 1968-1982 timeline; Egypt (used as the default nation) Jordan Lebanon Syria For all four I've used the superb 'aluminio' skin by torno. INSTRUCTIONS 1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the MirageIIIVE folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the MirageIIIVE folder into your Decals folder. That's it! I was keen to make this readily accessible to everyone so everything is stock and the F-100D pit is used as it's in every version of Strike Fighters. This isn't accurate so if you've got any of the Third Wire Mirages then it's best to use those pits. CREDITS As always, thanks to Third Wire for a great little game/sim. Thanks to Veltro2K for bringing us the Mirage IIIV and so much more! Thanks also to michaelk for his recent MirageIIIV minor update which brought this aircraft to my attention. Thanks to torno for the 'aluminio' skin - ¡muy buen trabajo! And, finally, thanks to everyone in the wider Third Wire community.
