  1. Is there a better aircraft for taking out runways? And those Dhimaris in the evil Comm building had better look out too
  2. A quick and dirty RAF F-111A (as opposed to an F-111K) for SF2. Oh, and I might do a Super Sabre FGA.2 which has the inflight refuelling probe re-instated for those long deployments to Dhimar or even 'Nam (Cheltenham)
  3. I'm grounded until lunchtime but would just like to thank everyone on the F-111A 'upgrade' team - it's great to have this as a complete package and I can't wait to fly this in the new WOV. Chapeau!

North American Shark FGA.1 for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 This is a very simple mod of the stock Third Wire F-100D to give a fictional North American Shark FGA.1 (I guess the RAF didn't fancy the 'Super Sabre' name) with markings for No.33, No.45 and No.58 squadrons of RAF Middle East Command. INSTRUCTIONS 1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the SharkFGA1 folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the SharkFGA1 folder into your Decals folder. 3. From the WEAPONS folder drag and drop the two files into your Weapons folder. That's it! CREDITS As always, thanks to Third Wire for a great little game/sim. And, finally, thanks to everyone in the wider Third Wire community. Regards Spinners Version 3 - November 13th, 2023
  5. Poor FPS

SF2 runs better on Vista than the 'old games' did on XP (using exactly the same PC). I now play with shadows and mirrors ON and get the same speeds that I used to get with them OFF. Why? I haven't a scooby!
  6. I use The Gimp but struggled to grasp things at first before posting a question at The Simmers Paint Shop and the advice there put me on the right road. I'm not sure about CS3 but it's worth a shot. Incidentally, I bought Photoshop Elements last year but find The Gimp so much easier!
  7. Rapier FGA.1 of No.67 squadron, RAF Middle East Command, Dhimar, 1964.
  8. I'm playing this game too much. I clicked on 'Accept'
  9. Hi Norm - just wondering where do you live?
  10. Rapier FGA.1 of No.26 squadron, RAF Middle East Command.
  11. Great work and much appreciated.
  12. Strike Fighters 2. Odd choice? Let me explain. I only came to SFG this time last year (late Jan 2008) after visiting my local PC World and buying a 'four for a tenner' pack of flight sims that included First Eagles and two other titles I've never tried and can't even remember. I instantly became hooked and bought WOE and WOV and then WOI came out. I was like a kid in a sweet shop! Now that they are all being re-released on Vista (with enhancements if SF2 is anything to go by) I've revamped my PC (Vista and 'scorched earth' as someone here once said) and I'm just going to enjoy them as they came out and savour them a bit more than I did last year. I'm now getting moist in anticipation of Strike Fighters:Vietnam...
  13. RAF [insert wicked sword name here] FGA.1's of No.1 squadron, RAF South East Asia Command.
  14. Chapeau! Up there with the very best FastCargo - well done . (Works fine in SF2) Edited to take out comment about ventral tank.
  15. Does the game actually start? Are you getting any error messages?
  16. Rapier FGA.1's of No.26 squadron, RAF Middle East Command on patrol over the Dhimari coast, 1961.
  17. More info please! Vista or XP? Have you added anything yet? What error messages, etc. etc. (There is no need for SFG - SF2 is totally stand alone)

Saab Draken F.2A for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 This is a 'what if' Saab Draken F.2A with markings for No.23 and No.25 squadrons of the Royal Air Force as they might of appeared in the 1980's towards the end of their career. I've used the excellent Draken J35D 'David' from the Draken pack uploaded at CombatACE by lindr2 to create this 'what if' RAF Draken but heartily recommend the Draken pack which has no less than 8 Drakens and is a superb effort by all concerned. For this revised upload I've made a simple grey skin and decals to create these RAF Drakens as they might have looked towards the end of their lives. I've used 1978 to 1991 as the 'in service' years, basically to utilise the British Skyflash missile and I've also tweaked the data.ini and also the loadout.ini to give RAF loadouts. The Draken itself was an amazing achievement and has a similar WOW factor to the contempory 'Century Series' of fighters - you just cannot believe it first flew in 1955... it just looks so cool! As much as I love the English Electric Lightning you must remember that the Draken had half the power but effectively did the same job plus another half-a-dozen! In addition, it cost dramatically less and it certainly required a fraction of the maintenance man hours! Suggested further reading - Saab Draken (chapter) 'Early Supersonic Fighters of the West' (Bill Gunston) INSTRUCTIONS 1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the Draken_F2A folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the Draken_F2A folder into your main Decals folder. 3. From the WEAPONS folder drag and drop the TANK_DRAKEN_F2A folder into your Weapons folder. CREDITS I've lifted these credits from the Draken pack but if I've unwittingly left anyone out then please accept my apology and do not hesitate to contact me to allow me to amend this package. 19. Nice work Jug. I'm going to put this to good use on an RAF Draken F.2A - stay tuned.
  20. Saab/Gloster Draken F.2A of No.31 squadron, Royal Air Force on detachment to Dhimar during the 1984 emergency* * nothing serious... the chicken was off the menu.
  21. My 'what if' RAF Thud can be made to work to SF2 if you extract the LOD's from WOE. Has anyone ripped the wings off their Draken yet? This is the first time I've seen structural failure in this game! At first, I assumed I'd been 'Atolled' (a new word - remember where you saw it first) but it's happened a few times now.
  22. Or good old 'Paint' if you've got nothing else.
  23. A WW2 flight sim for the PC

Whooooossshhhhh. Now you have a nice centre-parting....
  24. I can't see any reason why not but I've only got SF2 on my Vista PC.
