Hawker Hunter FGA.9, No.8 Squadron, Royal Air Force for STRIKE FIGHTERS 1 This is a quick decal conversion of the sublime Third Wire Hunter FGA.9 to enable you to fly a No.8 squadron machine. This will only work in Wings Over Europe but you can, of course, also make it work in the other Third Wire 'Series One' games by extracting and exporting all of the relevant files. Since originally releasing this I've added Syrinx's fuselage serial numbers for the Hunter and included a nice loading screen and tweaked the hangar screen to give it 1960's three colour roundels. INSTRUCTIONS 1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the HunterFGA9 folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the HunterFGA9 into your Decals folder. CREDITS Thanks to TK for a great little game/sim. Thanks to former member Syrinx for making the fuselage serial numbers. And thanks to everyone in the wider Third Wire community. Regards Spinners Version 2 - 05/03/18 Version 1 - 02/10/08
  2. That's looking a bit better!
  3. No problem mate. I'm just having a play with some modified bands and thankfully I already have some white letters. Stay tuned.
  4. http://www.8squadron.co.uk/history_hunter.php Quite a good read that and I didn't know that they'd operated the FR.10! I did mine without looking but I notice that the profile shows no suadron badge on the nose, white letters and serials (black on the undersides I'd imagine) and a raised set of 'bands' with notches at the end. Edit - Would you happen to know what serial number(s) your dad flew in? EASTENDERS TIME!!!
  5. Hunter FGA.9 of No.8 squadron, Royal Air Force.
  6. Well I'm a rubbish skinner and the stock Hunter skin is such a cracker but I will do the main decal (I might have already done it, I can't remember) and NFG has already done the serial numbers. I'm not on my 'Strike Fighters' PC so give me a bit of time.
  7. Good call on the Lansen - massively underrated.
  8. Blackburn Buccaneer S.2 Lighnting F.1A Lightning F.3 TSR.2 Supermarine Swift
  9. No problem Planejunky. When I was an aviation mad teenager in the 1970's the FGR.2 was my favourite Phantom with it's Rolls Royce Spey engines and superb camo and markings and I was completely blind to the fact that we had the biggest, heaviest, slowest and most expensive Phantoms in the world! Apparently we could have bought 5 x F-4D's for the price of 2 X F-4M's . I still love it though! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sundowner - I notice the small triangular windows on the canopies in your pictures are even smaller than normal. What 3D model is that?
  10. Phantom FGR.2 of No.56 squadron formates with a No.111 squadron machine. It's only slightly more complicated than that. You also have to get the decals to show up so just need to alter the file path Example; [Decal003] MeshName=wing_left_outer DecalLevel=0 DecalFacing=TOP FilenameFormat=FGRMk2\56\Roundel Position=-4.900,-1.65 Rotation=40.0 Scale=0.5 DecalMaxLOD=4 [Decal004] MeshName=wing_right_outer DecalLevel=0 DecalFacing=BOTTOM FilenameFormat=FGRMk2\56\Roundel Position=4.900,-1.65 Rotation=40.0 Scale=0.5 DecalMaxLOD=4
  11. http://www.column5.us/aircraft2.shtml I haven't tried this myself but download the above and open up the '56' folder and then rename the bitmaps should work. To clarify, you are downloading this to rob it of the '56' folder which you then plop into your Mirage Factory FGRMk2 folder and then need to rename the bitmaps from F-4J_1 to F-4M_1 etc, etc.
  12. Without looking, I'm almost certain Sundowner has already done them.
  13. Lightning F.Mk53's of No.45 squadron of the Indian Air Force.
  14. A comprehensive package this, full of detail and North American goodness... and what a dogfighter!! Well done to Zurawski and everyone at the GMG
  15. I'm not a fan of modern military aircraft (i.e. post Tornado/F-14/F-15) but I liked this package from the word go. The new FM sure does make it handle better but the thrust is way too high. Has this been done to compensate for anything else?
  16. The sun sets on two Phantom F.1's from the Leuchars wing as they return back to base after 'playing' with Lossiemouth Buccaneers. Sundowner's classic RAF F-4 scheme plus some 'Treble-One' and 'The Fighting Cocks' decals by me.
  17. I've had a blast with this and can suggest the following tweeks; [FlightControl] StallSpeed=88.51 CruiseSpeed=224.84 ClimbSpeed=218.85 CornerSpeed=239.29 MaxG=7.33 MaxSpeedSL=344.22 MachLimit=2.20 PitchDamper=0.8 RollDamper=0.75 YawDamper=1.0 GunBoresightAngle=0 RocketBoresightAngle=-3 The above just firms things up. [Rudder] SystemType=CONTROL_SURFACE InputName=YAW_CONTROL ReverseInput=TRUE MaxDeflection=20 MinDeflection=-20 CDdc=0.0237 Cydc=0.2080 Cldc=0.0450 Cndc=-0.1600 CndcAlphaTableNumData=15 CndcAlphaTableDeltaX=4.00 CndcAlphaTableStartX=-28.00 CndcAlphaTableData=0.873,0.905,0.933,0.956,0.974,0.988,0.997,1.001,1.000,0.994,0.984,0.968,0.948,0.923,0.894 ControlRate=0.8 ;HasGearDownSetting=TRUE ;GearDownMaxDeflection=6.0 ;GearDownMinDeflection=-6.0 ModelNodeName=Ruddera ReverseModelOrientation=TRUE RotationAxis=Z-Axis
  18. Good work Wrench! A tricky beast to fly though
  19. Starfighter F.1 of No.65 squadron (No.226 OCU).
  20. I'm looking foward to this one - keep up the good work Veltro2k.
  21. Spinners gets court-martialled!! TMF RF-4E (probe and 'slimers' removed) with TK's F-4E skin plus some SEAC decals.
  22. Phantom FR.6 (temporarily detached to No.5 squadron during Operation Desert Storm). I've been playing around with editing out stuff and have taken the hideous bolt-on probe off the Israeli RF-4E and clothed it in Sundowner's lovely Ferris scheme.
