View File Comando de la Aviación Naval Argentina - F-8J Vought F-8J Crusader - 2da Escuadrilla Aeronaval de Caza y Ataque, Comando de Aviación Naval Argentina This is a 'what if' skin for The Mirage Factory F-8J to place it in service with the 2da Escuadrilla Aeronaval de Caza y Ataque, Comando de Aviación Naval Argentina. INSTRUCTIONS This is not a complete aircraft so you must have TMF's F-8J. This is just a skin for you to drop in to your F-8J and fly. 1. From the SKIN folder drag and drop the COAN folder into your F-8J folder. The decals are inside the skin folder - nothing else is required. CREDITS Thanks to TK for a great little game/sim. Special thanks to The Mirage Factory for creating the F-8J and to Column5 for sending me the template 10 years ago! And thanks to everyone in the wider Third Wire community. 2. No problem and we'll have a 1st escuadrillo F-8E here soon! (Thanks Gocad)
  3. Thanks for the prompt reply! It's not often we see you post here so, I'm sure I speak for everyone, your work is superb!
  4. Any news on the 'winder rails?
  5. So what do you fly?

I love the variety but if I had to choose then I'd go the Phantom F-4E with the 'Thud' a close second. Mission wise, I prefer STRIKE as you inevitably get a chance to dogfight as well!
  6. Not quite a D-31 but here is a great source of D-25 stuff... http://www.digitalstrike.eu/index.html

  9. View File F-14A Tomcat - Ejercito Del Aire Ala 12 (What If) Grumman F-14A Tomcat - Ejercito del Aire This is a 'what if' F-14A Tomcat in service with the Ejercito del Aire with markings for 121, 122 and 123 Escuadrons of 12 Ala (12th Wing). The EDA 'Iberian Camo' is actually the stock Iranian Air Force skin by Column5 and Sundowner and it really does suit the Ejercito del Aire markings - especially if you use gepard's superb Israel 2 terrain (recommended). BACKSTORY By the late 1970's the Phantom F-4C's of 12 Ala (12th Wing) were becoming increasingly long in the tooth and the Ejercito del Aire urgently sought a replacement. McDonnell Douglas appeared to have the upper hand with no less than three products on offer; The F-4E Phantom (still in low-rate production). The F-15C Eagle. The F/A-18A Hornet. However, during 1978 the situation in Iran was becoming increasingly unstable and by January 1979 the Shah of Iran had fled in exile. An immediate arms embargo to Iran soon followed and Grumman were left with a considerable number of undelivered and now undeliverable Iranian F-14A Tomcats. A formal approach to Spain was made by Grumman and agreement was soon reached for the supply of 30 F-14A's to replace the Phantom F-4C's of No.121 and No.122 Escuadrons with a small follow-on batch of 10 F-14R's to supplement and eventually replace the RF-4C's of No.123 Escuadron. The F-14A Tomcat gave good service to the Ejercito del Aire before being phased out during 2009 and replaced by Boeing Hornet F/A-18F's. INSTRUCTIONS 1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the F-14A_EDA folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the F-14A_EDA into your Decals folder. I've simplified this download by reverting to stock items so now go and fly the Tomcat in Ejercito del Aire markings! CREDITS Thanks to TK for a great little game/sim. 11. An esoteric little beauty! Well done to all concerned.
  12. Dave - To simplify things for the mods just have one 'open' category (i.e. edited and unedited).
  13. I like the current set up of one per day. I here what you are saying about people submitting {warning - TOP GUN cliche alert} 'the best of the best' but the daily trawl through the screenshots can be inspiring and also a glimpse into the future shop window for the modellers and modders. In addition, comments about my screenshots have got me starting to upload a few bits and pieces. I would like to see a 'hall of fame' sticky just showing the monthly winners.
  14. Intel E6850 3.0Ghz 2 core duo with 2.0GB RAM and an NVIDIA 8800GT graphics card.
  15. I play mirrors off and shadows off but everything else high; SFG, WOV and WOE seem to be 70+ fps (with both figures on the top of the screen matching). In WOI it can drop down to 30-40 fps (with the game normally trying to deliver much more). I actually deleted WOI recently. Apart from the parked up aircraft and rear-view (which I'd like to have in the earlier games) it just feels so non-standard with some aircraft handling badly and I can't get my joystick configured the same as in the earlier games. I'll probably come back to it at some time but, for now, I'm using Gepard's Israel 2 terrain in SFG to give me my IDF fun.

I did this skin back in 2008 and apologise for it being a bit rough but I just love the RAF camo schemes of that era and slightly later, especially with the 'B' type (Blue/Red) roundels.
