  1. Thanks mate. I've been having a play around and getting the hang of it and my TMF Phantom FGR.2 now has tanks that match the camo! BTW I've just realised that I had the PM of you (MiGBuster) and not X-Ray! Apologies to all concerned! (Too excited at learning a new skill).
  2. Thanks Wrench and thanks for the PM from X-Ray. Perhaps I can now sort out my F-4 tanks! Can I assume that we can copy LODs and re-name them providing that we ini edit the data files?
  3. I've just tested the link and notice that TK also gives some DirectX help there too!
  4. I think you should uninstall and start from scratch. Install from your CD and then visit http://www.thirdwire.com/downloads_sfg.htm Download the service patch and install then download the patch and install. It must be in that order but there are full instructions there. After that, you might be OK but at least we can confine this to a DirectX issue.
  5. OK, I've done a bit of reading and I'll get a hex editor later today when I'm back on my main PC. This looks like one of those major building blocks to achieve SFTE... (Strike Fighters Total Enlightenmet)
  6. No. I must sheepishly admit that I don't know what this is... or does
  7. Did you get hit? I've sometimes landed and been surprised to find out that Ace Pilot was wounded and hospitalised.
  8. I installed SFG a few days ago (new computer  ) and had the same thing. Despite the CD installing DirectX I found that going to the Microsoft website and getting the very latest DX9 download got everything running. BTW From a CD install I also needed to get the service pack AND the patch.
  9. OK I tried renaming the bitmap to TANK_170F104G and not worrying about L + R versions but that's not working.
  10. Hi Baltika - It's actually the skin that's included with a few ini tweaks to get the RAF insignia to appear. The only thing I made was the 43 squadron checkerboard markings using GIMP. From memory the 43 squadron 'Fighting Cock' emblem is from Craig's Eurofighter Typhoon. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tip! whiteknight's excellent Brewer camo skin fits the Firebar quite well if you overspray the nose glazing.
  11. I've just had a new base unit and moved from a 3.06Ghz single core to a 3.0Ghz E8400 dual core with a GeForce NVidia 8800GT. I still leave shadows and reflections off but everything else is on high, including water, and the FPS keeps up with what the game is trying to deliver. Only thing was that I botched up some of my archiving and will have to start from scratch with my WOE install. Never mind, it's all good fun!
  12. Good team work guys and very much appreciated! I did get this independently from two kind peeps but it's great to see it here as a download available to all and to also thank Monty for his original work . Firebar F.2 of No.43 squadron, RAF.
  13. Hi everyone. I've had an interest in Soviet jets recently and fancy having a go of the Yak-28P Firebar. I understand that Pasko did this a few years ago but now I just can't find it anywhere with many links now dead. If anyone can help I'd be grateful. Thanks!
  14. Thanks for rallying around on this one guys - very much appreciated! I'm glad it's not just me that likes the look of this Soviet interceptor.
  15. The P if possible. BTW is the B the same machine as the Yak-28 'Brewer' uploaded by JSF_Aggie?
  16. Sweet indeed. I picked up this film in the DVD bargain bin a few weeks back and it's definitely worth a look but I can't understand why Robert Mitchum didn't give Mrs. Abbott a good seeing to.
  17. That's nice to know Sony, I'll check it out... (once I finish my spliff).
  18. Good news! It's a fine looking aeroplane and the two-seater will be especially welcome. Thanks.
  19. Delightful! I hadn't realised just how slender the fuselage is on this great looking aeroplane. Great work Geo!
  20. Not relevant for the Sparkvark I know but the Skunkworks produce some fine aircraft for the Third Wire world.
  21. At the moment; Buccaneer S.2 Canberra PR.9 Javelin FAW.9 Lightning F.1A TSR.2 Vulcan B.1 (the B.2 is sweet)
  22. As a schoolboy in the 1970's I remember reading an article about him in an aviation magazine (Wings - anyone in the UK remember that one?) and I was enthralled by his exploits, especially in 'Nam. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.
